Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for September
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: September 10th-13th
Warnings: Fresh meat, lots of rain and angry ogres

If the rain on your face isn't enough to wake you up in the colosseum, maybe the thundering footsteps and- well, thunder- is. The first thing that you may notice is that it's incredibly wet around here, with winds that could knock you over if you aren't careful and thunder that brings with it a torrent of constant rainfall.

That's all fine though, because the gods saw fit to help you out on your way in and now everyone will be waking up wearing a rain coat! These coats are a little odd, and some of them are downright silly, but we trust that you'll make do. Of course, a few of the raincoats have additional sleeves, neck holes, and entirely too many buttons as well- but hey, it's the best we could do.

Wait, what was that about thundering footsteps? Oh right, as you're navigating your new fashion choices, there are some monsters afoot who will want nothing more than to grind you into a pulp and eat you- well, if you're organic, that is. If you're not organic, then they still want to grind you to a pulp, but maybe not so much the eating part.

Ogres are from many fantasy stories, but these in particular are from the Dragon Age series. With incredible strength and stamina and massive horns, fangs, and a bloodlust for violence, these monsters won't stop until everyone around them is a blood smear on the ground. They're also not too happy about this rainfall either, so be careful not to slip in the puddles as you run away from them!

Once you've splashed around a bit, feel free to run off into the stormy abyss of our islands. You can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

[Carolina isn't exactly one to speak... Some of the missions that they went on did involving b&e, amongst other things like stealing. She wasn't the lock expert though. But here? Well, reactions could vary, especially if someone tried to break in to her residence.]

Things are free here anyway, although not always easy to come by.

Free? That seems really convenient.

[A little too much, is his point. However, thinking on it further...]

I guess the weather and monsters kind of balance that out, though.

Not really... Supplies aren't exactly overflowing.

[There are some items that Carolina hasn't seen since coming here. Heck, there are times when items are sparse as well. She's been luck so far, or perhaps her house has been prepared.]

Weather... is fairly new. Monsters, not so much. They change monthly, at least those that come when the new arrivals do.

Ohh, that makes sense.

[This is starting to remind him of some dystopian setting, or something.]

I didn't see any monsters once I left that big arena-place. Do they stay there, or something?

[Please be a yes.]

They start there, but if they aren't taken care of, they wander the island.

[Just that one though, at least as far as Carolina knows. She hasn't seen one on the other islands, so it's a good bet to place. Having her home on it, Carolina will go back and make certain, as having her residence knocked down or trampled is not on her list of events to have happen.]

That sounds like it could be potentially problematic.

[He sighs a little, leaning against a wall and crossing his arms.]

You said they come when the new arrivals do...so they're like, pulled in by the door thingy too?

If anyone else knows any different, haven't heard a better theory.

[At least before they had been confined within. Since they had shifted to the islands from the desert, it had changed. Thankfully they didn't seem to run around too rampantly.]

[Sal is all about trying to stay positive in a bad situation but his mind is kind of going to all sorts of places right now.]

That makes the possibilities for what kind of monsters that'll show up endless. That's some real nightmare fuel.

It does, but not all are as troublesome. Some are more- [What word does she want to use?] An annoyance. Their numbers do seem to be limited, and once they are gone, more don't appear. So far.

[Overall, it's not that bad of a place? It could be worse- has been worse- but there are some moments that aren't all bad.]

[An annoyance. He wants to ask if that's like 'small fly' kind of annoyance or what? But he decides against it.]

Okay, that's good. I feel a little better about that.

[He'll just take this nice lady's word for it. He can always learn about monsters and all of that scary stuff later, anyway.]

Oh - man, sorry. I'm Sal, by the way.

[All he really has to do now is to avoid the colosseum when people start arriving, and be mindful when moving about the island thereafter. They tend to be taken care of, or be less of an issue. Even if the islands are pretty bare, having monsters running around isn't good for anyone.]

[He is definitely staying away from that Colosseum. It's going to give him nightmares, honestly.]

Nice to meet you, Carolina. And thanks a lot for filling me in a little. I feel slightly less dizzy now.

This place is one big learning adventure.

[Even after how many months, Carolina is still picking things up. The whole shift from a desert to these islands had taken her by surprise, even though she had heard about them coming from beneath the ground.]

You'll get the hang of it, or start to, anyway.
