Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for September
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: September 10th-13th
Warnings: Fresh meat, lots of rain and angry ogres

If the rain on your face isn't enough to wake you up in the colosseum, maybe the thundering footsteps and- well, thunder- is. The first thing that you may notice is that it's incredibly wet around here, with winds that could knock you over if you aren't careful and thunder that brings with it a torrent of constant rainfall.

That's all fine though, because the gods saw fit to help you out on your way in and now everyone will be waking up wearing a rain coat! These coats are a little odd, and some of them are downright silly, but we trust that you'll make do. Of course, a few of the raincoats have additional sleeves, neck holes, and entirely too many buttons as well- but hey, it's the best we could do.

Wait, what was that about thundering footsteps? Oh right, as you're navigating your new fashion choices, there are some monsters afoot who will want nothing more than to grind you into a pulp and eat you- well, if you're organic, that is. If you're not organic, then they still want to grind you to a pulp, but maybe not so much the eating part.

Ogres are from many fantasy stories, but these in particular are from the Dragon Age series. With incredible strength and stamina and massive horns, fangs, and a bloodlust for violence, these monsters won't stop until everyone around them is a blood smear on the ground. They're also not too happy about this rainfall either, so be careful not to slip in the puddles as you run away from them!

Once you've splashed around a bit, feel free to run off into the stormy abyss of our islands. You can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

We are not soldiers. Some of us have more experience; some of us are physically stronger, but we all need to fight. (She tries to stand her ground, but she is freezing and scared and sick to her stomach. Water droplets roll down her cheeks like tears and she wipes at them uselessly.)

Are there enough of us to protect those who have only arrived?

[Kelson looks around. There are some guards, some civilians, some newly arrived. And monsters.]

Yes, I believe so. I shall come back if you wish it. But only if you're safe.

[Kelson summoned a small ball of fire in his hand, despite the rain, willing to use his powers to keep those safe, if she'd just be safe herself.]

(She narrows her eyes at his stubbornness, imagining that if she somehow had the willpower to knock him upside the head with her sword, it wouldn't do any good. She isn't a warrior.)

You needn't use magic on me!

(Her thoughts have made her feel a bit guilty.)

This is only for the monsters, I assure you. If I wanted to use magic on you, I would simple put you to sleep and carry you out.

[Don't make him do that Sansa. Even if he had some hesitations about whether it would even work on her. Sansa would probably fight him, and she was strong willed.]

Please, will you go? I will happily escort you to safety.

I trust you wouldn't do that to me. (Even soaking wet and frightened Sansa has a strong sense of morality.) If you feel so strongly about it, I won't fight you.

(They are friends and the Ogres are...horrible. All she can really do is outrun them.)

Will you protect yourself if you return? Use your magic for yourself and others, Kelson. I think that would be the best use of it.

[He would. But not right now after she shamed him into not doing it. Unless something drastically changed, he'd continue to be polite.]

Thank you. You have my word, I will protect myself and others. I vowed to do that to the best of my ability when I was crowned and knighted, I don't intend to go back on that.

[Kelson vanished the fire, having made his point.]

Shall we then, my lady?

(A crown and the trappings of a knight haven't prevented other men from being horribly selfish, but she holds him in higher esteem. He is more like Robb or her father. Sansa sheathes her sword and gathers up her skirt, walking through the muck to his side.)

See me outside and I can find my way home.

(He can do more good here.)

[Yes Kelson wanted to have words with so many men from her world. Not that vows and knightly trappings haven't prevented others in Gwynedd from being as bad, it was simply easier when your monarch could tell when you were lying. Still, he couldn't be everywhere. Kelson tried to uphold the vows he swore, and would very much like to meet her family. He hoped he got the chance.]

Of course my lady. If you're sure?

[He didn't like the idea of leaving her unprotected but, it wasn't like she didnt walk the streets alone normally.]
