Event Log: A Little Touchy-Feely

Who: All characters participating in the event
What: The event log for the A Little Touchy Feely event
Where: In the city of Hadriel
When: September 20th-29th
Warnings: Cuddles? Please keep in mind our rule about potentially adult content.

In the morning of September 20th, you wake up with an itch you can't quite seem to scratch. There's a strong impulse, lingering in the back of your mind and it's difficult to figure out exactly what you need at first. You may be unhappy, unsatisfied for most of the morning, but everything clicks when you run into someone else- whether it's a casual interaction with a roommate or friend or a more intimate one with a boyfriend or girlfriend, after a brief moment of contact, suddenly everything falls into place.

You'll spend the next week or so seeking out that contact, consciously or unconsciously. It's not enough to have a handshake or a hi five, you want to be close to people: physically, emotionally, any way you can get it. The closeness makes you happy, the happiness makes you forget about how lame it is on a rocky desert island on an alien planet. Everybody wins, right?

Make sure all cuddles are consensual, and try to stave off the horrible coldness that comes from your fear of being alone, at least for a few more days!

Yes!! It was about space outlaws!!

[She's like, 60% to a fire elmo at this point as she rushes through the living room, dropping her bag by the couch and dragging out her laptop.]

Hang on, I think the discs are in my room, do you remember any of it or should we start from one I mean even if you remember we can totally s-start from the beginning, it's only like 13 hours.

[Only.]

Right! Man, I hardly remember anything- Just the dog. The main chick was really pretty? That's about all.

[ Look at her go. If anything gets Alphys moving, it's definitely Anime. ]

Hey, thirteen hours is easy. Not like I'd be doing anything else with that time, honestly.

[Rosie, you are speaking her entire language. She starts to hurry downstairs, carefully picking through her DVD shelf and grabbing the box set, as well as the blanket off her bed, and hurrying back up.]

Ohmygosh yeah Faye is amazing. I always liked Ed as the tech p-person, you know, like you see yourself in characters? Even if I'll never be that skinny. I always wanted to be, like that lanky person who fits in weird places, but, y-you know.

[She's comin' for that couch now, and she looks over her shoulder to make sure Rosie's coming.]

Do we have snacks? We are going to need snacks.

Who needs to be skinny!

[ Says the 110llbs soaking wet woman. It's fine, don't worry about it. Rosie is absolutely coming though, making her way easily towards the couch too. The blanket was a good call. ]

I also liked the old guy. He was super no nonsense and it was fun. Made me think a little of Hiruma.

Listen, snacks: good. We can deal with e-everything else later.

[Her natural shape is Orb that's just the fact of the matter, okay, okay.]

And that's good! The best part of a rewatch is looking out for stuff you missed, or seeing what you remember and letting new things take you by surprise! You never know what you're going to find the, uhm, the s-second time you go through something. Plus when you know the ending you can start seeing the foreshadowing earlier and it gives it a whole new reading!

[She snuggles in under the blanket, dropping the DVD case on the table.]

[ Okay, well- That's fair enough. And she loves her orb-shaped little buddy, alright. Wouldn't change her for the world. ]

That's true. I never really had a lot of stuff back home I watched repeatedly... Like, I wanted to but. I moved a lot and none of it belonged to me so I was lucky to be able to get a whole series.

[ The blond finally settles into the couch, giving a small approving sigh. How long has it been since she just chilled like this with someone? Feels like a while. ]

Ohmygosh I t-totally get that. I could only get what I found from the dump. We couldn't exactly, uhm, c-connect to the human internet so far out. So I'd have to hold seasons until I could get 'em in order.

[She scoots up to Rosie's side, resting her head near her shoulder. Oh yes, this is good. Maybe Love should run the show more often.]

Ok, do you remember any of it, or start from episode 1?

Yeah, I imagine there wasn't super great connection underground unless it was local. Kind of figured that was the reason we got signal in the cave but couldn't, like, phone out.

[ One of the reasons, at any rate. Another one was that this was secretly still Haven and the Yao Corporation was just putting on a very impressive new act.

When Alphys cuddles up, Rose finds herself instinctively leaning into the touch. While she isn't as adverse to it as she used to be, well- This is still a little uncharacteristic. Part of her realizes it but the other part doesn't care. It's reminiscent of House 1 in some ways, honestly, all of them crowding on the couch to hang out. ]

Let's start from episode one and see if anything jogs my memory. If not, we can watch it all in one go. If it does, well- Hey. Nothing wrong with a re-watch.

[Alphys has always been a touchy person. Emotionally, sure, but also just physically. After isolating herself for so long, the fact she can hold onto someone, feel something real, is still incredibly important.

There's a lot of familiarity here, as Alphys settles into the couch, fitting in to Rosie's side. It's nice to be close to her like this. Emotionally, of course, but like-- this is something else, something nice, something very very missed from when Sans, Papyrus, and Undyne were around.]

T-Totally. Okay, I'm gonna start it!

[She reaches a hand forward, operating her computer with just one for a few moments before the DVD screen pops up, fullscreening the window and pressing it to start.]

I'm so glad you weren't busy today. I was hoping you wouldn't be.

[ In contrast, Rose had only ever associated touch with pain. Even in Haven's days, that mental connection was hard to break. She remembers feeling so much more at east when answering the social animal in her and doing things like spending time with others, sleeping in close proximity, and just... general nearness. But still, there had been Yao. The experiments, the torture.

Sometimes she can still struggle but she's come a long way to be able to snuggle up on the couch next to her friend here. ]

Yeah, I know I've been at the orchard a lot... Just trying to do what I can, y'know? Like feeling useful. [ She's not good at science like Alphys or others, it doesn't feel like she contributes a whole lot but- The orchard? She can take care of that much. The blond burrows down further into the couch a little, body relaxing as she leans into the touch. ]

But I'm glad you caught me too. Been a while since I just let myself... relax.

[She nods, absolutely understanding the feeling. Alphys always believes she's not the one doing the important work, so she'd be the first to say she's not really busy- even when she really can be.]

Oh, I-- of c-course. We all want to contribute to the city. And I don't know where we'd be if you weren't taking care of the orchard, so.

[See? Values others. She believes in you, Rosie.]

But I know what you mean. We all, uhm, need a l-lazy day of anime every once in a while.

[ She can be. And Rose would be the first to tell her so, that what she does is worlds more important than anything Rose can do-

Oh. ]

Ah, please. Probably fine. Someone else would've taken it up or... I don't know. [ Maybe someone else could have stopped them from taking all the trees. That would have been nice. ]

I agree though. It's nice to just sit back and relax a little. Sometimes it feels like there's nothing going on then other times it's... a little too much.

[Alphys agrees with a small hum, letting herself lean on Rosie's side, head nestled comfortably against her.]

Mhmm. It's nice to just... b-be, sometimes. And, uh...

[It's sappy, but she blushes, tilting her head down.]

I'm glad to be here with you. So. Let's uh, enjoy it?

[ Maybe it's because she's more susceptible to heat than the cold that she feels that blush. As a result, she hooks her arm over Alphys and brings the little lizard just a scooch closer. ]

Yeah, I agree. I'm all for enjoying the downtime when I can.

[She gasps a very quiet gasp as Rosie pulls her in, which only serves to intensify that heat in her face. Oh, she is hopeless. But she won't ruin this with all that now.]

Yeah. L-Let's watch, huh?
