Who: Sal Fisher & Tyki Mikk
What: Ghost Hunting gone horribly wrong.
Where: The Silent Hill zone.
When: Oct 8 I guess???
Warnings: Uh well it's the Silent Hill zone so probably psychological horror and hellish monsters? Will update as necessary!

By now Sal is aware that with Hope reviving people there likely aren't any ghosts around, but his Gear Boy still goes off occasionally around certain people, and paranormal activity isn't just limited to the dead. Besides, it's something to do, and Sal is curious about this place in general so it's a good opportunity to explore. At first it looks as if they're walking further into the city, away from the temples, and everything seems fine.

Then the light on his Gear Boy begins to light up a brilliant green. It flickers once or twice, as if it doesn't quite know how to process whatever it is it's picking up, but Sal keeps walking with his head down and focused on the device. He should watch where he's going but he's not alone, so he doesn't bother. Only a minute or two further in does the glow begin to steady and a fog starts to roll in. When Sal looks up anything he sees in the distance is blanketed by the fog and hard to make out. It's the siren, loud and blaring, that cuts right through him and forces him to start a bit. The Gear Boy's light dies down.

"That's probably not a good siren, is it?" he asks with slight trepidation. It was unsettling; like something you would hear during a city wide emergency or something. But aside from the fog, nothing seemed to be going on.

It doesn't look at all like the rest of the city. I'm enjoying the change of pace.

[It is interesting. It's like nothing Tyki has ever seen before. He came straight from the Victorian era to Hadriel's spiraling oddities. So a semi-modern apartment complex is entirely new to him. And normally, he'd be thrilled to explore something this new.

And he tells himself that he is. That he's having a fantastic time with a good friend, and that he'll remember this for years to come. But his heart is racing. He's on edge, and Tyki isn't one that often gets on edge. When immortality is promised, and even death is just a door that allows a person to be reborn, what use is fear? But there's something in the air that's heavy, that's pushing forth an unnatural feeling. And Tyki is starting to realize that there's a force around them that's wrong somehow. That is affecting his feelings.

So he stays close to Sal, keeping as upbeat as possible. When needed, Tyki will lie. And he does it well. And his current lie comes through in his relaxed stance and comfortable tone.]
You think so? Well, do you want to check it out? [Tyki hears something up there. He's not sure what, but there's definitely something. He's excited to see a ghost for the first time, or at least be in the presence of the dead not being used by the Noah family.] You're the expert, lad. What now? [The scent of blood picks up in his nose again, and it makes him shiver a tiny bit. He suppresses most of the reaction, but he's starting to want to say no to this whole ordeal and drag Sal back to the main part of town.

But this is what Sal wants. And Tyki will support him. No matter what it takes.]

That's the spirit. Pun full intended. [He's certainly in high spirits again. He can't wait to see these ghosts, if any of them have the courage to show themselves at least. A part of him, the very human part, wants to see if his Noah side or his different lives are affected by meeting a ghost that isn't part of an Akuma monster.

He's also a little scared of the idea that he might feel a little different, or have to reevaluate things again. So he shakes his head, and forces the thought away. He doesn't want to worry about that right now. Especially with how the Super Gear Boy is working.]
It's a bit erratic, isn't it? [He wonders if the Super Gear Boy is more effective in Sal's home world. Hadriel has a way of shifting things about, and making them change. So it could be that it's more reliable in it's original home.

Tyki doesn't get a chance to ask, though. He's more distracted by the failed attempt at opening the door. If Sal wants in, Sal is getting in. It's just as simple as that. And it's nice to have an excuse to use his abilities for something that doesn't involve death once in a while.]
Let me give it a try, lad. You know I've got a couple tricks up my sleeve. [Tyki chooses to simply put his hand through the door, intending to open it from the inside out. No lock to worry about that way. But when he reaches through, he feels fire. And he can smell metal suddenly, metal and blood and then all he can hear is the sound of pulling metal. And if someone was just stretching it against itself. And it's so loud and so strong that he doesn't know what to do. And the sound gets higher and higher and he's sickened by it.

Has a moment passed? Has eternity passed? He isn't sure.

Something is very, very wrong with the door and what's behind it. And although he pushes through his momentary mental distress, he still can't unlock the door without literally breaking it apart. And he's not really in the mood to do that, especially with how uncomfortable he is right now.]
That's... strange. To say the least. Even I can't open it. That's a whole different level of disrepair.

[Tyki pulls his arm slowly back, he's not going to act like he's afraid or uncomfortable. But he is, despite that determination to not be seen that way. He can act as strong and casual as he likes, he can work hard to not come across as fearful for Sal's sake, but he's not happy right now no matter what he says or how he comes across. And he hates it.

He's smiling, but his heart his racing. He swears he can feel the beating in his jaws and wrists and ears. It's like a drum, repeated and impossibly loud.]
No worries. Alls well that ends well, I guess. You can't fault me for trying, but...

[Tyki blinks, and then reaches into his pocket for the key he picked up earlier. It doesn't seem to match the door, and he doesn't want to try it. But it's like he was compelled to look at it, to remind himself that he still has it. And that really leaves Tyki feeling concerned. He doesn't like this part of town, he's not fond of the feeling of being played with, but at the same time he's thrilled. This is a frightening and amazing experience. And it's so rare for him to feel so much.] Can't hurt to try, right? [It doesn't fit. He's not surprised in the least that it doesn't work here. But it seemed like a decent idea, for the sake of keeping a casual mood. So it gets safely tucked away again, to be tried on another lock.

Nothing is here. Nothing has grabbed at them. No voices or sounds have amounted to anything other than paranoia and hallucinations. And Tyki was experiencing those things before they came out today. So Tyki heads down the hall to try the next door. He wants to see if that key matches something in here, or if it really was just a random situation that led him to find it.

He really doesn't think it was random at all, though.]
Let's see... This looks as good as any. [This door swings open easily, it was unlocked and leads to the joy of a janitorial closet. Tyki sighs and gestures widely towards the open door and the mops and buckets and cleaning supplies within.] How thrilling. [Tyki tries for the light, but the switch doesn't make the lights come on when flipped.] Dark and dull. I'd feel bad for any ghost trapped here for eternity.

If you're not feeling well, we can come back another day. Or perhaps try somewhere else. There's no harm in avoiding this part of the city as well, perhaps it's setting off that device of yours falsely.

[Tyki rests his hand on Sal's shoulder gently for a moment, in a show of support. He'd forge on if wanted, but a part of him is also glad that Sal wants to give up. He doesn't like this place. It doesn't feel right, as infuriating as that is to Tyki and his ego.]

Let's head back out. We'll get something to eat and then call it a day. [That's right, they'll do better with some warm food in their bellies. And they'll do better by far when they're away from this place, that's the more important part.

Tyki lets go of Sal, and starts walking back the way they came. He's still shaken up, but far more confident now that they're leaving. They can laugh it off and he can get these sickly twisting feelings out of his system. And nothing is amiss in his mind, until something scurries past them. Even Tyki misses it, jerking back as it moves past. It was too quick to see in the low light, and his heart is in his throat now.]

Shit. I'm jumpy today.

I can't say I've ever seen those things, but we've got our dignity at least. Two gentlemen who did our best, didn't find any ghosts but had an adventure anyway.

[Tyki laughs gently, quieter by far than he usually laughs as they head down the stairs and back down into the lobby. It's empty. Entirely empty. Like all they heard and felt and saw was just in their heads and nothing but nervous imagination. Tyki almost feels silly for a moment, like he was overreacting, but then he remembers how it felt when he put his hand through that locked door. And he quickly decides that it's best not to think about things at all, and to just hurry out with as upbeat an attitude as possible.] Besides, we're amateurs. No one can really judge an amateur.

[Tyki rubs his hand over the key again, without thinking. He really doesn't know what to do with it, but it's almost reverberating in his mind. He hates it, because it's affecting him on some level that's unpleasant, but he doesn't want to put it down.

And he doesn't really want to leave without finding out what door it opens.

So he pushes back to conversation as they approach the door out, trying to do anything to stop focusing on that nagging feeling within him.]
Since we're amateurs, that means we should try again sometime. Maybe somewhere else. What do you think of this? Fisher and Mikk, paranormal detectives. I'd say paranormal detectives for hire, but money isn't of much use here.
