Warnings: Like, so many monsters
No monsters arrived with the newbies - great! One less thing to worry about. Except it never quite works out that way, does it? Maybe the Door was just delayed a little, because on the 12th, a few monsters start appearing. And then more. And then more. Where's the off switch?! Oh right, no one knows.
Some of these monsters you might recognize, some your best friend from another world might be very familiar with. Some might be creatures you've never imagined. But don't worry, they all have one thing in common - they'd all be happy to tear you to itty bitty pieces. Or eat your liver. Or consume your soul. Or just scare the shit out of you, that's fun too.
So lock your doors and stay inside, and hope nothing breaks in through the windows. Alternately, now's a great time to get your hero on and go out and smack some monsters around. It's great exercise, and there's nothing better for stress relief! Just avoid those big scary fangs.► This log covers October 12th-17th.

Standing abruptly - because it's a little embarrassing to be this emotional for relatively no reason - Damien nods quickly. ]
I'm fine. Just uh - hell of a fucking day.
[ He looks her over for a minute, just noticing the sword, the blood. ]

she takes a step back when he gets to his feet, but stays close enough that should he lose his footing, she can help]
Yeah, I guess it has been.
[the fifteen year old girl flushes faintly. she's sure that she must look a fright with the blood all spattered all over her]
I'm--fine. [she sighs] This place seems to like making us kill.

But I guess we all are right now.
[ He steps a little closer to her for a moment. Sure, she's the one with apparent superpowers but that doesn't stop him from feeling protective nonetheless. And then he glances around, weighing up their options.
At least whatever brought him to tears a minute ago is gone. He doesn't know what the fuck that feeling was, but it's been replaced with his more usual brand of unwavering determination in the face of a hard fight. ]
We gotta get somewhere a little safer.

[but despite that gloomy observation, she still smiles at him as though it's completely normal to be in the midst of chaos. which for her, it actually is.
she's noticed the mood swings in herself, but she's written it off as a side-effect of being separated from her friends and boyfriend for so long.
her smile turns wry] Have any ideas on where that might be?

Strangely, the Colosseum seemed empty. All of the monsters that came in must've already escaped. [she nods] It's been very useful, especially when it comes to getting to another island quickly.
