Event Log: Gifts from the Door, Monster Version

What: The event log for the monster version of the Gifts from the Door event
Where: All over the city
When: October 12th-17th
Warnings: Like, so many monsters

No monsters arrived with the newbies - great! One less thing to worry about. Except it never quite works out that way, does it? Maybe the Door was just delayed a little, because on the 12th, a few monsters start appearing. And then more. And then more. Where's the off switch?! Oh right, no one knows.

Some of these monsters you might recognize, some your best friend from another world might be very familiar with. Some might be creatures you've never imagined. But don't worry, they all have one thing in common - they'd all be happy to tear you to itty bitty pieces. Or eat your liver. Or consume your soul. Or just scare the shit out of you, that's fun too.

So lock your doors and stay inside, and hope nothing breaks in through the windows. Alternately, now's a great time to get your hero on and go out and smack some monsters around. It's great exercise, and there's nothing better for stress relief! Just avoid those big scary fangs.

[Peter was like two seconds away from probably webbing up the zombie's gross zombie face and like, I dunno, tossing it or something? A guy rolling in and stabbing it right in it's eyeball is also effective, but also kind of horrifying because this just isn't the kind of shit that Peter sees everyday. In real life, anyway, he's seen plenty of horror movies, but damn it just doesn't compare to this shit.

He's about to turn his web shooters on captain stabby over here out of reflex, but stops himself as soon as he realizes that this is a living, breathing dude and turns his attention back to the downed zombie.]

Holy shit, you just-- right in the eyeball, oh my God. Oooh God I hope that really was a zombie and not just some guy-- no that's stupid, his skin's coming off. That's totally a zombie and it's twitching ew...

[ These things thankfully aren't moving as fast as some of the other shit he's seen today, but he wasn't gonna take a chance. He probably could've warned him a little better at least. ]

Yeah, sorry kid, can't take chances.

[ It's definitely real gross, he won't deny that, but there are other ones approaching, too, and in increasing numbers so they've gotta think fast. Damien glances around quickly, and then up, just looking for a decent escape route. ]

Hey. [ He rests a hand lightly on the kid's shoulder, just for a second. ] We're gonna get outta this, okay? We just gotta find - [ Even sneaking into a building at this point won't help if they're on the ground floor somewhere. ] - somewhere high up. Wanna get on top of these fuckers. All of them.

[Peter's kind of used to crazy shit, so it doesn't take him long to get his head back in the game. This dude snapping him out of it definitely helps too, and Peter follows his gaze up.]
