Event Log: Gifts from the Door, Monster Version

What: The event log for the monster version of the Gifts from the Door event
Where: All over the city
When: October 12th-17th
Warnings: Like, so many monsters

No monsters arrived with the newbies - great! One less thing to worry about. Except it never quite works out that way, does it? Maybe the Door was just delayed a little, because on the 12th, a few monsters start appearing. And then more. And then more. Where's the off switch?! Oh right, no one knows.

Some of these monsters you might recognize, some your best friend from another world might be very familiar with. Some might be creatures you've never imagined. But don't worry, they all have one thing in common - they'd all be happy to tear you to itty bitty pieces. Or eat your liver. Or consume your soul. Or just scare the shit out of you, that's fun too.

So lock your doors and stay inside, and hope nothing breaks in through the windows. Alternately, now's a great time to get your hero on and go out and smack some monsters around. It's great exercise, and there's nothing better for stress relief! Just avoid those big scary fangs.

[The aftermath of berserk is always quite intense, and it's hard to shake off those feelings of mindless rage. He struggles to take his mind off of the fighting for long enough to catch what's being thrown to him. Perfect. Sure, he hadn't gotten it off of the monster itself, but surely anything similar from someone else's world will do.]

[He's so relieved as he drinks it down. Huh... the remedies on other worlds somehow taste more like coffee than the medicinal flavor he's used to. That's... weird...]

[When it has no effect, he's more than a little frustrated, giving the smallest of angry growls as he stabs at the monster.]

Why... isn't... it... working!?

[The marlboro swipes at the tiny pest with a tentacle, sending Kain flying off to the ground for an unpleasant landing. Ugh.]

( i mean, it was quite the sight.
the miniature dragoon taking hold of the full-size can of coffee, and trying to swig it down. at least, it would have been quite the sight, probably, if joker had been able to witness it. he can hear that it apparently didn't take, and cruses under his breath, not knowing why.

he's on the defensive, still rubbing at his eyes as the darkness persists... )

How about this!

( there's a flash of his mask, a wave of his arm, and his summon reigning down with a sukunda spell, to lower the beasts' agility. ) Attack it now!

( if you still have any wits about you, heavy armour-san. )

[It was tasty coffee anyway? That and it does perk him up a bit, but his other problems are still there. He groans as he picks himself up, just in time to watch that spill hit the malboro. It's now or never, he realizes, this is the best chance he's got.]

Right! Let's end this!!

[Kain makes another mighty leap. Sure, it doesn't look too impressive at such a small size, but it's still enough to get him to land right on top of the creature. He stabs at a tentacle. It takes a couple of attempts, but he manages to cut partway through it so that it ends up dangling, partially chopped off. Good, he's making some progress. He continues stabbing at any part of it that he can strike at this point, determined to do as much damage as he can before he falls off.]

( being that it was his third turn since having been blinded, by rpg logic joker's blindness was finally starting to clear— and with a few more blinks the darkness that he'd been drenched faded.

the world came in bright at first, making him squint, but now able to see that partially amputated arm. seeing as how kain was busy sticking it with the pointy end, he'd take this chance to aim straight for the inside of the creature's mouth. raising an arm up, he called for a mighty— )

Eiagon! ( the heaviest curse spell he knew. )

[That spell most definitely has en effect, striking the malboro head-on, making it shudder and start to collapse. It wouldn't take much more now. Though these are tough, stubborn creatures, so Kain isn't about to drop his guard too much. No, instead, he focuses on stabbing it with all he has, leaping toward its eyes to take those out while he can. May as well give it a taste of its own medicine on its way out...]

Finish it!!

[The curse has it weakened enough that one more good blow ought to end this. Kain just prays that there is a remedy to be harvested afterward. He's ready to be normal-sized again.]
