Event Log: Gifts from the Door, Monster Version

What: The event log for the monster version of the Gifts from the Door event
Where: All over the city
When: October 12th-17th
Warnings: Like, so many monsters

No monsters arrived with the newbies - great! One less thing to worry about. Except it never quite works out that way, does it? Maybe the Door was just delayed a little, because on the 12th, a few monsters start appearing. And then more. And then more. Where's the off switch?! Oh right, no one knows.

Some of these monsters you might recognize, some your best friend from another world might be very familiar with. Some might be creatures you've never imagined. But don't worry, they all have one thing in common - they'd all be happy to tear you to itty bitty pieces. Or eat your liver. Or consume your soul. Or just scare the shit out of you, that's fun too.

So lock your doors and stay inside, and hope nothing breaks in through the windows. Alternately, now's a great time to get your hero on and go out and smack some monsters around. It's great exercise, and there's nothing better for stress relief! Just avoid those big scary fangs.

Aw, thanks! My first suit was basically just a hoodie, so this one is a huge improvement.

--Wait a minute, we have a bakery? How did I miss that!? Oh man, I could go to town on some croissants right now.

[He is actually paying attention to where he's swinging and keeping an eye out for monsters, but man food is like the best topic.]

Really? Oh, wow. I wish I could've seen it. It must've been something.

We do! It's on the South island, so we'd need to take a boat, but it's really good and its owner is so sweet! If we make the rounds of this island and it's all clear, we should go.

[she's also scanning the ground for zombies and creatures of every kind, but she can walk and chew gum at the same time.

It sure was a thing. I thought about tossing it after I got this one, but I dunno. Maybe it'll hold some kinda nostalgic value some day.

[Peter's not picking up any more gross zombies, which is super cool because those were kind of horrible.]

We should one thousand percent do that. I don't really get off this island too often anyway, I think a bakery is a really good excuse to hop on a boat.

I think that's a good idea, not tossing it. It can remind you of where you've been, how far you've come, and where to go next.

[and she's not seeing any from the air, either, which is a relief! it's going to take a while to clean the stink of zombies out of her nose]

It's absolutely a good excuse to hop on a boat! I really hope there are cream puffs today. Oooh, or chocolate covered strawberries! Those are the best, you'll have to try one.

Or, maybe I can sell it to a museum somewhere down the line and make serious bank off it. I probably won't, but I guess it's always an option.

I'm almost more impressed that this dude's managed to find fresh strawberries around here.

You'd need to drop the secret identity first.

People have gardens here! I think they got them from the aliens, but it's nice to have fresh fruit sometimes. Even if it is covered with chocolate.

Unless they pay in cash, then I should be fine.

In my experience, chocolate makes everything better. No complaints here.

Oh! Right, I forgot that people used to use actual paper money! Then keep your mask on and do something with your voice and you'd be safe.
