Good morning and welcome to Hadriel! The forecast is cloudy with a chance of cold rain, and the weather is a bit too chilly for your tastes. That's alright though- you've got bigger things to worry about. Like the fact that you're waking up alone on the ground of what looks like a colosseum, and that you're surrounded by scattered jewelry. These various pendants, brooches, and chokers all feel- fleshy and slightly warm to the touch, though they'll cool off and firm up the longer you might be holding them.
But what kind of sick and twisted person would do something like this?
Well, the same kind of person who would apparently throw you in here with not only messed-up body jewelry, but also messed-up body monsters. You may hear them approach, thumping on the ground and growling as they come closer to you... but there's not much to be afraid of, really.
The monsters that surround you this month are grossly deformed, appearing as if someone tried to inexpertly combine multiple monsters together to make them more fearsome- the head of a hellhound is too big and it can't lift it, so it drags along the ground, the bear has too many legs to walk properly and falls on itself, improperly-spliced chimeras have dead heads that loll lifelessly about their necks- so on and so forth. It may be a better idea to put these creatures out of your misery before you go- if you're able to, that is.
But at least you can find your freedom relatively easily- if you could 'living in Hadriel' as freedom, I suppose. Once you escape from the colosseum, you can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers November 10th-12th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
i.
that's when she sees a familiar man in familiar armor and goes to greet him. she finds herself more amused than anything at his questioning whether or not she caused his headache]
No, I'm afraid not.
[she takes the outstretched hand, unsure of what's next. she's never had her hand shaken before]
It's a pleasure to meet you, Donut.
And a flower god? I love flowers. My House sigil is a golden rose.

[ He shakes her hand, good grip and all. ]
Umm. What's your name again?
[ He laughs, scratching the back of his head. ]
I don't think I got it last time. But a flower girl. I totally pegged you as one. You smelled pretty awesome last time we met. Was that incense or oils? I just gotta know!
no subject
Margaery Tyrell, Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.
[she laughs brightly] It was oil infused with the scent of roses. I have very little left, so I only use it on special occasions. What sorts of flowers do you like?
no subject
[ ooc; heading to bed! will tag tomorrow! ]
no subject
[OOC: okay! Goodnight and see you tomorrow!]
no subject
Oh! Is that how it's done?! Why didn't anyone tell me!
[ Donut... you don't even know who the King of the Universe is. Also, there is no such title! ]
no subject
Who will you choose for your king? That's a very important decision.
It was how it was done in my world. The king already reigned, so I had to go to him.
[shh, don't destroy his dreams that way]
no subject
Why do I have to choose a King? Why can't I just be Queen of the Universe? I mean, where does it say I gotta have a King? Besides, Queen is so much better. I mean have you listened to Bohemian Rhapsody?!
no subject
I suppose you could simply be Queen of the Universe without a king. But no, I can't say that I have heard it. It's a song?
no subject
It's the best song ever! Wanna listen?!
no subject
If it's the best song ever, I certainly would!

[ He starts searching his suit looking through the interlocking pieces when - aha! - near his thigh he presses a button and a small compartment opens up where a handgun would normally be except there's a small ipod like device there instead. It was his secret stash of music for his 'Wine and Cheese' hour. ]
Here we go. I knew I put that somewhere. He scrolls through the titles until he finally reaches it.
Be prepared for the finest music this side of earth.
[ And he starts playing it. ]
no subject
she has no idea what that little device might do, but she looks at him with an expectant expression.
and then the music plays.
wut.
she must admit that the lead singer is quite good, but she has no idea what they're singing about.
after the song ends] Well! That was certainly. . . impressive! But may I ask a question or two? What's a fandango? And a galileo?
no subject
And Galileo was this roguish guy from long ago who was prosecuted by the church for being himself. Yeah, things weren't really that great for guys like us back then. You ever been prosecuted like that? It's terrible.
no subject
[as a matter of fact, she has been persecuted by religion] ...ah. Yes. It's terrible. Have you been mistreated by the faith of your world?
no subject
[ /le sigh ]
I mean, who hasn't? I'm just glad I got the courage to get out of there. Joined up with the Red Army and joined Red Team. And I gotta, say Sarge has been such a great inspiration for me. Who knew I needed a father figure in my life to truly inspire me to be myself. I never would have been able to do it back home with my Mom's coddling me all the time. Yup. It's been great since we split. What about you, Miss? They didn't mistreat you I hope.
no subject
[that is a lot of information all at once]
I'm glad that you found someone to be inspired by. Everyone needs someone like that in their life. And, no, they didn't mistreat me, they only [kept her in a damp, dank cell that was too small to stretch out and sleep in, woke her every hour on the hour urging her to confess her sins, fed her once a day, and made her drink from a dirty bucket] held me in a cell for a while.
no subject
[ He's definitely inviting her to brunch. ]
Ah, jail cell, huh. That sucks. Yeah. I was stuck in jail once. Thank god I hard Sarge and Lopez and Wash with me. They were terrible to us. I was about ready to beat off a room full of dudes just to get some fresh air. Sarge and Wash stopped me though. Apparently, they didn't want to hear me talking like that. Yeah, even though I was always bottom. Ranked. They always made sure they took care of me during that time in the dark. Together. In small cramped rooms where the only source of entertainment came from getting off with the guy next to you. You know what I mean?
no subject
I'm glad you had those who cared about you during that time. Being locked away can be a--a maddening experience, even under good circumstances.
no subject
[ A turn of his head. ]
But you were alone weren't you? That must have been tough. Nice to know it's not just Tex whose made out of Steel. Your Kingdom must have really missed you. I don't know what we'd do without Carolina to watch our backs. I mean, last time that happened and Wash was in charge we all got split up and captured. That's how I ended up in the jail cell. Yeah. It's pretty cool that Carolina's here at least even if Sarge isn't because Sarge would always protect me. I'm his Rookie!
no subject
Yes, I was alone. But I endured. You must know Wash terribly well. I know him, too. He's a good man. And perhaps Sarge will come here. New people arrive every month and there's no telling who might show up next.
no subject
Yeah, we go way back. He shot me the first time we met. No 'Hi, how you doing?' just straight up shot me. Pretty cold of him. I thought I was gonna die for a while there while I waited, all alone in a canyon, my friends kidnapped while I bleed out. Thankfully my armor went into recovery mode and Doc was able to find me hours later just in time to work his magic voodoo and saved my life!
So, how do you know Wash?
no subject
That's an. . . unorthodox way of making an acquaintance. I'm glad you survived, though. But your friends were kidnapped? However did that happen?
We met not long after he came here and we both cared greatly for a girl named Eleven.
no subject
Sure were. But don't worry, that happens almost every season. Ever play capture the flag? Oh, you wouldn't believe how many prisoner exchanges we went through.
Eleven? Like the number or the store?
no subject
...capture the flag? No, I can't say that I've ever heard of it. And I suppose I wouldn't. How many were there, if you had to guess?
She was called Eleven after the number.
