People were gone, Gowther was gone and everything Atem used to remember of this place, gone as well. Not that Atem actually ever noticed that Gowther had never been in this place before the influx of people.
Now, that might an exaggeration, he remembers people, but not all of them, he's not sure who knows him or not anymore. It turns out it was probably not the so called gods messing with his head, but it probably didn't matter now, did it? It's like Kaiba would say, 'Just ignore it and crush it under the weight of your future', literally... He spent so much time trying to get his memories before coming here, it sure doesn't feel like something he wants to do here as well. He knows himself, he knows Kaiba, and others, and they know him. That should be enough.
He cannot help but wonder, who else did he forget? So far he hadn't found many who claimed to know him, maybe he shouldn't worry that much.
But as much as he wants to move on, he finds himself staring at people's faces, wondering if he's met them before or not. Either you may feel someone watching from where you're sitting down at the Speakeasy, and when you turn at the counter, there he is, this scrawny young man you might or not talked to before looking at your face as if it had something on it. Maybe you're just passing by as he's sitting down at the sidewalk or just as he passes by you, stealing glances from under his umbrella—were it a rainy day—or just as you're trying to find a new pair of pants at the stores, there is this pair of amaranthine bright eyes staring curiously, maybe a little worriedly even..
What do?
( ooc: A gentle reminder Atem was given a hard reset during the fourth wall event, which means he's forgotten most of the people he's met in Hadriel. Send me a PM if you wanna plot around that, otherwise please assume a clean start with your character. )

「After how things went down with the first tree he grew, Atem has been taking things a little more calmly, after all, he doesn't want to pass out again from using too much energy to turn a little seed into a full grown tree, if anything he's trying to make them grow to his knee or so. And that's what he's doing at the moment, flattening the dirt around a recently planted seed, as much as he possibly can. Then he can be seen drawing some circles and markings around it, it's not that easy to make the glyphs as perfect as he wished he could, but he keeps on trying. 」
There must be an easier way...
「He mutters under his breath.」
carlisle's garden | idk the muffin man
「Just as Carlisle had cut the communication, Atem hurried down to the piers, jumped on a goddamned boat and hurried towards the North Island as fast as the winds allowed him to. It was amazing how good he had become at this sailing thing after a while, still, dreaded it—the sea was not his element, it was so wet—but not even this time he cared to get his shoes and pants wet if it meant to get to his mentor as soon as possible.
Finally, he knocks on that familiar door, perhaps a bit more obnoxiously than he should.」
Carlisle! It's me! Open up!
「He sounds really excited at least!」
butterflies also like living in pretty houses | sal
「Atem did promise he'd help beautify whatever little house Sal decided to build for his little new friend. He's been practicing in fact! Trying to build something more spacious and fireproof for his fiery salamander. Meanwhile, he waits for his friend to arrive as he writes some notes in his notebook, anything that comes to his mind that could potentially help with creating new things, or just transmuting them into something else.」
the sewing shop | margie
「Still a little unsure of what the future will bring them, Atem decides to act on it anyway, he could use a new jacket, the one he's got, even if it's from home, has seen better days. He remembers being at the sewing shop before, but everything aside of that comes as a blur to him, he pokes his head into it, expecting some kind of magic to happen and suddenly remembering everything.
He doesn't.」
Hello?
「Is anyone there?」

You keep calling me that. 「He doesn't mind, as he says it with a little chuckle.」 How old are you?
no subject
To me, anyway, or so you all seem. As to that... mm. The exact calculations are slightly tricky, as much of my early life was before the Moon or Sun rose. But I think... roughly, I am probably around nine thousand and four hundred sun years, give or take a few centuries.
no subject
「Cue chuckling.」
That would explain it. Allow me to say that you look pretty good for you age.
「Gramps.」
What do you do with all that time?
「He finally asks when his gentle chuckles die out, while Atem has been around for a long, long time as well, he never had the luxury of living though those years. He never gained any kind of knowledge or wisdom from his years. That happens when you're enclosed in a magical object for a few millennia, with no way out.」

Thank you. Age doesn't weary us physically as it does Men, although it does touch us too.
[ The mirth fades to a quiet melancholy ]
Ah well. It's different for everyone, I suppose. But they say that while Time rushes onwards and Men with it, the Elves stand on the banks and wistfully look behind. I've done many things, and learnt and lost just as much.

「He's getting a little cold!」
I'd love to listen more if you don't mind...
no subject
Ah! Forgive me for getting distracted. Of course - let's get you out of the rain.

「He feels he should know this information...」

How do you like yours?
no subject
Usually black to be honest. Green isn't bad but if you steep for too long, it tastes horrible—
「He's babbling... stop it.」
Anyway, I asked because we have some of that at the Speakeasy, only that, it can be imbued with a little magic for a relaxing effect.

I will have to introduce you to my aunt, if ever she is drawn here. Poor Aunt Lalwen! She will be most distressed to be without her coffee! But I do prefer tea - time with the hobbits will do that, although I drink both. And so I drink it the way they taught me, also - black with a dash of milk, or a slice of lemon.
no subject
「Also—」
What are hobbits?
no subject
O! How Mistress Belladonna would have tutted at that. Hobbits are a little people - akin to Men, but where they come from, no one knows. They stand at about half the height of a man, so. [ he gestures to a spot around his waist ]
Hence the other name - "halflings" - although they dislike the term, and much prefer "hobbit". They are a good people, if rather insular, enjoying good food and drink, and comfort. They rather think us "Big Folk" are noisy, troublesome and foolish, and would much prefer we left them to their own business as they leave us to ours.
no subject
Heh... They sound delightful. But you must admit, "Big Folk" are noisy, troublesome and foolish.
「He says with a chuckle, he might not be even the biggest folk out there but he knows his flaws (most of them...)」
no subject
They are. [ Maglor smiles ] And I cannot deny it! But they are warm and welcoming, and I have many fond memories of them, irregardless of the fact that our salvation came from their number.

What do you mean?

Ain't that true...
「He muses over it.」
It is always the soft-spoken ones that get the worse part and yet... we would be lost without them. The world might belong to the powerful, but it is them who make it worth living in it.
「There is but the slight melancholic timbre in his voice.」
no subject
[ Maglor smiles a little melancholy ]
In my time, we fought Sauron's Master, but Morgoth had not his lieutenant's cunning. Even so, we almost lost - it took the destruction of a continent to stop him. I am - we all are - eternally grateful to Masters Frodo and Samwise for what they accomplished.

「He can remember that name, from Curufin's dreamlike reality that he induced on him a while back in order to cause him fear. He didn't know him and the name already brings him discomfort.
But Curufin didn't make it out of that war... He looks up at Maglor unsure if he should ask of his status back home. Instead, he opens the door of the Speakeasy for him.」
no subject
You can ask the questions I see stewing behind your eyes!
no subject
No, it's probably better not bring up bad memories, the past is in the past... as a friend would say. It's just, I remember that name, Curufin mentioned him.
Last tag from me before I drop =(
We all have reason to hate them, Sauron and Morgoth his master. But Curufin holds an especial hatred for Sauron, who tortured his son.
