Have you ever looked through someone else's eyes? Heard through their ears, spoken with their tongue? The gods have tried to teach some of you empathy, but it's time you learned the hard way, exactly what the others here have been through. For a week, every time you brush skin to skin with someone, you'll experience a memory of theirs: happy, sad, it doesn't matter. All that matters is that it feels real to you.
The first touch may come as a surprise- it lasts only for a split second but may feel like an eternity, where you're trapped in someone else's memory. After that, it could be more expected, and some may even figure out how to control it and share specific scenes from their past with others. Or, you might wear gloves and long sleeve shirts for awhile, nobody's judging.
Maybe curtail the handholding for awhile- or go right ahead, if that's your thing. After all, you never really know somebody unless you've walked a mile in their shoes, right?► This log covers November 14th-20th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If you die in a memory, you don't die in real life, but if you do die in real life please let us know here.
amen to that... orz
( he's in total agreement about that.
taking a moment to reach up and re-adjust his glasses, he isn't exactly sure how to approach this, but... )
The last time we met I'm not even sure I asked your name. ( he'd been a bit... pre-occupied, you could say. ) It seems wrong to get to know you this way, Noah.

( but, in that vision. the girl had called him....?
talk about opening your mouth and inserting your foot.
akira's expression shifts overall to an apologetic look, embarrassed by how wrong he'd gotten that information... )
Tyki. I'm sorry. ( and there's a shake of his head. ) I— never managed to find them, no. Thanks for your help back then, though. And... please, call me Akira.
no subject
Too bad about your friends. But I suppose they're better off not being stuck here.

akira had never heard the term before, but pressing the matter didn't sit right with him. not with how he'd intruded on something personal, like that... )
Yeah... ( he'll adjust his glasses— the habit he'd come to accustomed to. ) They're probably in a better position than you and me right now, I'm sure.
( he hopes. )
But the gods are the real ones coming out on top this time, it seems.
no subject
The gods... [Tyki sighs.] Boy, tell me something. Do you really believe they're deities? I'm curious, do you think they're truthful with what they call themselves? [Tyki thinks they're simply aliens, he doesn't trust them at all. Especially after this bullshit event.]
no subject
( that's a no, apaprently.
people hailed gods, deities, most as benevolent, though some as vengeful. it was a mixed bag in hadriel but for this delinquent, well... he'd stopped believing in the divine some time ago. )
Emotions that have run wild and taken form somehow seems more accurate, with the things they put us through here. But— whether or not they might believe it themselves... that seems like a different story entirely.
no subject
[This place is making him insane.] I'm certain that they're behind the door, and have more control over it than they say. There's just too much that keeps happening in their favor where it's concerned.

and maybe be silent.
and then just... laugh at. )
You have a point, I think. We may all just be bastards trying our best...
( but he'll consider that follow-up statement, too— bringing a hand up to cup at his chin. the door certainly did bring in more of them for the 'slaughter' as it were, but... if it was information tyki was looking for, then— )
Have you heard of the Null?
no subject
no subject
I don't trust them either. ( his head bows just slightly at that, as he looks over the rims of his glasses to study tyki's reaction, if any, to that. ) But when you have two opposing factions like we have here, well...
( he'll give a quick look around, just for caution's sake, before lowering his voice to add— ) Getting information from one about the other can be useful, sometimes.
no subject
[Tyki seems calmer than before, he's taking Akira seriously and his words are being treated as important. So many people here believe the gods, and see the Null as an absolute enemy. Or the door as something that is entirely uncontrollable. It's all about the gods trying to help them out, and he's heard one too many stupid reason for trust and cooperation...
It's not that he's against cooperating if it benefits him. But no one clever should trust any of the powerful factions of Hadriel.] I thought you were smart. This just confirms it. I don't think we can trust anyone here, unless they're like us, and were brought in. And even then, we should be careful. [Tyki nods at the comment about information, though.] Absolutely. I think we should grab hold of whatever knowledge we can. I think if we actually want to find out way home, we need to be cooperative enough with those in power, but work on our own to figure this out too.
