Throughout the next few days, you may find yourself plagued by visions and dreams of back home. The dreams will be lifelike and difficult to tell apart from reality, as the world will be constructed from what you remember of your world. However, unlike usual dreams, you won't be present, and will find yourself unable to be seen or heard by those around you.
The dreams are vivid reminders of what might happen in a world without you: a world in which you disappeared when coming to Hadriel, a world which desperately needs you back for some reason or another. You may see your parents putting up missing posters, your significant other moving onto their next relationship, or even your hated villain finally taking over the world without you there to stop them.
When the vision leaves, you're back here and nothing about the city has changed. Though maybe you have a different outlook on it now...► This log covers January 4th-Januray 8th.
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If you try a weird solution to make it back home, please let us know here.
daenerys targaryen ; ota
The setting is...unclear. Westeros, most likely, but only someone very familiar with the landscape would know it to have been Kings Landing, once. Now, it has been destroyed. The capital city that one sat the hill in the South has been razed, its homes and shops and keeps all crumbled to rubble. There are no citizens here...unless you count the dead, who shamble around seemingly without purpose, eyes staring and unseeing. They are the only things that move in this place. The army of the dead had marched beyond the Wall and slowly consumed the Seven Kingdoms, bringing with it an eternal winter and the end of any other war that had come before it.
Dany searches the skies for her dragons, out of habit, but they are long gone. When she had disappeared from that ship, and when she hadn't returned, even after they landed on Dragonstone, the three creatures had eventually taken off. Without their mother, they had no ties to that place. Once they took flight from Dragonstone, they hadn't come back.
She doesn't know what to say, in the face of this nightmare. It comes and goes, forcing itself before her eyes like a plague. Dany has to brace herself against any nearby structure when it does, digging her nails into her palms and willing the visions to end.
Time couldn't really be proceeding with them here, in Hadriel. She had always been told that it wouldn't. This has to be another curse set upon them by the gods.
...Doesn't it? ]

she's been keeping to her room for the most part, ever since Maglor left. she'll leave her room to pick at food occasionally, but then she retreats inwardly again, trying to stop a well of tears which seems to have no end.
she's ventured out of her room to fetch a glass of water when she sees Daenerys lean against the wall of the house they share, an expression of pain on her face. Margaery's own face is likely pained, but she can't ignore her friend]
Daenerys, may I--may I ask what is wrong?
no subject
Has...Jon ever spoken of the army of the dead? Of the Night King?
[ How can she possibly begin to explain what she'd seen without the involvement of those monsters in the story? ]
no subject
Yes, he has. I even saw him in a vision this place induced, fought the Walkers. They are very difficult to kill.
[she is as well accustomed to them as she can be, considering that she never saw them while she was alive]
no subject
[ The other woman can likely guess what that looked like. ]
no subject
[she can guess and the visions are nightmarish. Westeros as a wasteland, only populated by the dead]

[ Whatever it is. However it began. ]

[she doesn't add that there's not much of a choice]

He catches sight of Dany, then -- and hurries over to her, openly concerned. ]
Hey -- are you okay? Do you need to sit down?
no subject
[ What? A strange fever dream? A god-inflicted vision? She isn't sure what to pin it on anymore, not with all she's been through in Hadriel. ]
It's nothing. [ She insists quietly, voice twinged with frustration. ]
no subject
Yeah?
[ He asks quietly nonetheless, before gesturing to the seat nearby. ] Wanna take a breather anyway? I've got some water.
[ He's empty-handed, but he won't be for long, if she decides she wants a drink. ]
no subject
...Have you seen visions? [ She asks finally, glancing sideways in his direction. ] Recently, I mean.
[ And unpleasant ones, to say the very, very least, if they're anything like hers. ]
no subject
[It's a low voice, quiet in its concern-- but in an instant there's a hand at her elbow, gripping it firmly, holding her up should she stagger and fall. He can't say he can't guess at what just happened, but it's one thing to see a vision (a false vision, it must be, his heart wails, and yet no, in all likelihood, no, it's not) and another to witness someone else going through it.]
Can you hear me?
no subject
I - Yes. [ Dany swallows, mentally banishing the remnants of what she'd seen. ] I just...saw something, though I don't know what it was.
[ Nothing good. Nothing true, either, or so she hopes. ]
no subject
[It may be insensitive to ask, but he doesn't say it to be nosy.
Belatedly, he releases her.]
If you wish to share. But it may help, to hear it spoken aloud.
no subject
[ Or so she assumes, based on what she'd seen. Dany breathes deep, looking back at him with the sort of stare of someone who has seen too much for their age. Or at all. ]
Our world is currently under threat of invasion from an army of the dead, lead by...creatures of legend, who command them. [ She shakes her head faintly to ward off any follow-up questions. ] I only know a little of it as I wasn't aware they existed until I came here. Another from our home told me of it.
