Throughout the next few days, you may find yourself plagued by visions and dreams of back home. The dreams will be lifelike and difficult to tell apart from reality, as the world will be constructed from what you remember of your world. However, unlike usual dreams, you won't be present, and will find yourself unable to be seen or heard by those around you.
The dreams are vivid reminders of what might happen in a world without you: a world in which you disappeared when coming to Hadriel, a world which desperately needs you back for some reason or another. You may see your parents putting up missing posters, your significant other moving onto their next relationship, or even your hated villain finally taking over the world without you there to stop them.
When the vision leaves, you're back here and nothing about the city has changed. Though maybe you have a different outlook on it now...► This log covers January 4th-Januray 8th.
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If you try a weird solution to make it back home, please let us know here.

[ The situation is - not great, for the rest of the city. Everyone's stuck with their own visions, seeing possibilities and bad futures. Ephemera catches a few himself, but they don't tell him anything he didn't already know. His death didn't matter and the people who'd notice or care are long dead themselves. Just how it is. Ephemera accepted that a long time ago.
It's different for everyone else. They've got family, people they care about left behind. For the ones like Drake, it's a hard blow.
For his part, Ephemera keeps up his patrols. Helps with lifting some of the heavier debris out of the way. He's coming out of the spire when he notices the man talking to himself.
Currently he's in full armor, voice distorted slightly by his helmet. ]

[ He said, you know, like a liar.
Jake is definitely not great, especially going by the fact that he looks like he kinda wants to throw up a little. Watching your friends and family try to come to terms with your disappearance really isn't great, especially when he's been missing them the entire time he's been stuck in Hadriel. ]

[ He says it mildly. He's been called worse. ]
It's not real. What you're seeing.

[ That was the worst of it, the fact that it looked like the procedure put into place when an officer went missing. His friends and family dealing with him being missing and trying to accept that he was gone, maybe forever. ]
How do you know it's fake? How does anyone even know what happens when we're gone?

[ He doesn't snap. Tries to keep his voice slow and even. People are hurting even if Ephemera isn't. Their pain deserves to be respected. ]
People have left and come back. No one remembers them being gone. It's like they never left.

[ Nope, he's not okay. This is worse than being in witness protection because at least then everyone at the precinct knew he was alive, even if they couldn't see him. They could write letters.
When was the last time he's felt this exhausted? ]

He exhales sharply and pulls his helmet off. Bares the scars. ]
Look at me. It's not real. It's just a trick.
