Event Log: Is It a Wonderful Life?

Who: All characters participating in the event
What: The event log for Is It A Wonderful Life? event
Where: All over the city
When: Jan 4th-8th
Warnings: None

Throughout the next few days, you may find yourself plagued by visions and dreams of back home. The dreams will be lifelike and difficult to tell apart from reality, as the world will be constructed from what you remember of your world. However, unlike usual dreams, you won't be present, and will find yourself unable to be seen or heard by those around you.

The dreams are vivid reminders of what might happen in a world without you: a world in which you disappeared when coming to Hadriel, a world which desperately needs you back for some reason or another. You may see your parents putting up missing posters, your significant other moving onto their next relationship, or even your hated villain finally taking over the world without you there to stop them.

When the vision leaves, you're back here and nothing about the city has changed. Though maybe you have a different outlook on it now...

► This log covers January 4th-Januray 8th.
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If you try a weird solution to make it back home, please let us know here.

[Laura's dead in her own world, so seeing a world without her was strange. without her, BOB had no one to torment. without her, Bobby never turned to selling drugs. without her, Donna had another best friend, one who didn't have a secret life to drag Donna down.

all in all, it seems like the world would have been better if she'd never lived.

she finds Angus walking . . . something. something she's never seen before]

Hi, Angus. How's your--pet? Where'd it come from?

[ If he were feeling 100%, Laura wouldn't have taken him by surprise . With several nights of bare minimum sleep under his belt, however, Angus jumps about a foot in the air at the sound of Laura's voice, and almost trips over Peanut's leash as he turns to face her. ]

Oh!! Uh... h-hi Laura. She's... her name's Peanut. I dunno what she is, but she's definitely not a dog. [ He can say that much for certain! ] Magnus... did you ever meet Magnus? He's... he was from my world. He found her in the caves, back when we were in the caves, and tamed her.

[ At this point, Peanut yanks a clod of dirt and frozen rocks out of the ground and starts chowing down on them, grinding the mess between her horrible snaggleteeth. ]

... Sort of. She doesn't bite.

[that wasn't the reaction she was going for. but if she knew he'd been going without sleep, she wouldn't have snuck up on him like that]

Yeah, she's definitely not a dog. And I think I met Magnus? Has he been here more than once? And that was a long, long time ago. How long did it take to tame her?

[and she has to stare. there's no other option]

I'm. . . glad to hear that?
hellosirs: (I beg your pardon??)

Yeah, he's been here a couple of times. He kept coming in from different time periods too, the second time around he was way younger.

[ Young enough that he didn't know who Angus was, which had been hella awkward. Angus stifles a yawn and tugs halfheartedly at Peanut's leash as she snuffles at an interesting rock, then hands her a strip of beef jerky when she obediently sits down next to him. ]

He started training Peanut the first time he was here, and I think that was about... maybe a year and a half ago? He's been and gone a few times since then, and she just stopped chewing on all the furniture recently. It's... it's kind of a work in progress, but at least she doesn't usually chew on people.

That's got to be confusing for everyone. And he doesn't remember any of it?

[she watches Peanut as she does what seems like normal dog things. even though she looks like a dog and an alligator mated. violently. there was no love there]

Wow, that's . . . persistence? But then again, I never had a dog. I don't know what normal dog training involves. Is she housebroken?
