Event Log: Is It a Wonderful Life?

Throughout the next few days, you may find yourself plagued by visions and dreams of back home. The dreams will be lifelike and difficult to tell apart from reality, as the world will be constructed from what you remember of your world. However, unlike usual dreams, you won't be present, and will find yourself unable to be seen or heard by those around you.

The dreams are vivid reminders of what might happen in a world without you: a world in which you disappeared when coming to Hadriel, a world which desperately needs you back for some reason or another. You may see your parents putting up missing posters, your significant other moving onto their next relationship, or even your hated villain finally taking over the world without you there to stop them.

When the vision leaves, you're back here and nothing about the city has changed. Though maybe you have a different outlook on it now...

You'd expect someone named Fear to be the biggest bastard. I think I'd rather deal with something he cooked up than this. I can punch a zombie, I can't punch... whatever this is.

Don't get me wrong, rumor has it he pulled some real dick moves back in the day, but as far as actually talking to him goes? He's not bad. And yeah, this is kind of bullshit. What're they trying to do, depress the fuck out of all of us?

[A+ roommate. Peter seems to be... betterish? Or at least getting there. He rubs at his eyes one last time and straightens up a little.]

I mean, it's Sorrow that's doing this, right? Logically, that's the only one that makes sense. He better be building us a hot tub with the juice he gets from this, otherwise I'm gonna be annoyed.

[yay, betterish! or something like that. it's progress! and with a last friendly pat to his back, she moves her hand to sit on her thigh]

That would be my guess, yeah. And Sorrow's not the one with the hot springs, that would be Love. Who isn't back yet. Theoretically, Sorrow helps with the orchard, but I don't see much growing in this climate.

Wait, we had a hot spring? And I missed it? Now that's just unfair.

[If Love comes back and fixes it, Peter is living in it]

Man, I wonder if we'd have room somewhere to get some kind of hydroponics lab going. We probably wouldn't be able to grow entire trees in it, but we could probably do like vegetables and berries and stuff.

Fresh vegetables and berries and stuff sound fucking awesome right now. We'd probably have to grovel to the stupid gods to get the resources to start it, but that could be really useful.

I'd be willing to do a little groveling if it meant being able to grow some fresh berries.

Okay, fine. We'll do a little grovelling. But! Not to Hope, he's a total douchebag. No, our best bet is Love. Who isn't here yet. But she'll probably make us do something moderately less humiliating.

Love is, like, hyper. And capslocks all over her texts. So I'd say she's slightly less of a douchebag than the rest of them. By about [she holds her thumb and index finger about a millimeter apart] thiiiiiiis much.

Honestly, Love kind of sounds like half the people I went to school with. That doesn't sound too bad.

[she laughs] I wouldn't know, 'cause I come from the Dark Ages of flip phones. Texting on those things was a pain in the ass. But, yeah, we'll go to Love when she finally shows up and see if we can get the stuff needed for a hydroponic garden. Sounds like a challenge.

Oh jeez. Texts on those must have been a nightmare.

I do like a good challenge, I just wish I could do a little reading up on it before taking on a project like that. Never really focused on botany in school.

Yeah, me neither. But we're both smart, we'll figure something out. Or maybe Harlan knows something about--growing stuff magic? I could ask?

You'd think? There seems to be magic for every other little thing around here. So why not growing magic?

Yeah, yeah, fair point. I just kinda figured that if it was a thing, people wouldn't have been so pissed off about the orchard thing, y'know? Or maybe trees are just harder to magic? I dunno, I'm not a wizard.

I'm not one, either, I just know a couple of handy everyday spells. One of which lets me heal grievous injuries. So if a wizard can do that, surely growing a couple dozen strawberry plants can't be that big of a deal, right?

Okay, yeah. Is healing people harder than growing plants? Yeah, let's ask your guy about this, I'm like super curious about it now.

It has to be. Because with healing, you've gotta keep your focus, like, there. With the person you're healing and you've gotta envision what the healed wound is gonna look like and it's this whole big deal. I. . . would figure it's kind of the same thing?

But, yeah, we'll go see Harlan and see what he thinks. And go to Love when she finally shows up and see if this is even possible in the first place.
