Event Log: Is It a Wonderful Life?

Throughout the next few days, you may find yourself plagued by visions and dreams of back home. The dreams will be lifelike and difficult to tell apart from reality, as the world will be constructed from what you remember of your world. However, unlike usual dreams, you won't be present, and will find yourself unable to be seen or heard by those around you.

The dreams are vivid reminders of what might happen in a world without you: a world in which you disappeared when coming to Hadriel, a world which desperately needs you back for some reason or another. You may see your parents putting up missing posters, your significant other moving onto their next relationship, or even your hated villain finally taking over the world without you there to stop them.

When the vision leaves, you're back here and nothing about the city has changed. Though maybe you have a different outlook on it now...

No, no. I've only had them for a couple of years, got 'em from a spider bite.

A spider bite? [she tilts her head quizzically] In my world, the only thing that happens when a spider bites is a painful welt.

Yeah, that's normally the case where I'm from, too. This wasn't an ordinary spider. Aaand, that's about all I know about it, because I squashed it after it bit me.

You--you squashed it? So you'll never know--oh. Oh my. [for some reason, probably because her emotions have been running high after she lost Maglor, that strikes her as completely hilarious and she starts to giggle] Oh my. I'm sorry, I shouldn't laugh, but you squashed it!

[You know what, that's fine. Giggling is good, it's better than being miserable.]

It bit me! What do you do when a spider bites you? You smash it! It's a natural reaction! No spider's gonna bite me and get away with it!

[yes, it is and she's been beyond miserable lately.

and she's still giggling] Yes, yes, of course. A spider bites you, you kill the spider. It's only fair.

[Well it's got Peter grinning a little too, so now everybody wins.]

See, now that makes it sound like I escalated things like way too far. I guess I could have just bit the spider back.

[she shudders exaggeratedly]

Ugh. No. If you'd bitten the spider, you'd have had spider bits and guts in your mouth. No one wants that.

I think at this point that would probably be some kind of weird spider-cannibalism, so it's really for the best that I didn't roll that way.

...This got really gross, I apologize.

Please. I'm from Westeros. Things "got really gross" there on a regular basis. [wryly] Usually thanks to my second husband. You've nothing to fear or apologize for with me.

Oh, cool.

[A pause]

...Did he eat spiders?

[roseofthetyrells]

No. He'd rip their limbs off, then burn what was left of them using a glass and the sun. And he'd expect me to be delighted by the whole affair. I got to be quite the actress by the end of my relations with him.

Oh, right! The sicko! You told me about him! Whoof, that's rough.
