Event Log: Is It a Wonderful Life?

Who: All characters participating in the event
What: The event log for Is It A Wonderful Life? event
Where: All over the city
When: Jan 4th-8th
Warnings: None

Throughout the next few days, you may find yourself plagued by visions and dreams of back home. The dreams will be lifelike and difficult to tell apart from reality, as the world will be constructed from what you remember of your world. However, unlike usual dreams, you won't be present, and will find yourself unable to be seen or heard by those around you.

The dreams are vivid reminders of what might happen in a world without you: a world in which you disappeared when coming to Hadriel, a world which desperately needs you back for some reason or another. You may see your parents putting up missing posters, your significant other moving onto their next relationship, or even your hated villain finally taking over the world without you there to stop them.

When the vision leaves, you're back here and nothing about the city has changed. Though maybe you have a different outlook on it now...

Ugh Shockwave. Even for Starscream the other is a sore spot, so they can bemoan the other's existence together. "Your actions are rather telling, Knock Out." And he doesn't really question it, honestly, Starscream would be peeved too if his ego was so gigantic that he'd be affected.

"Of course. Shockwave might play mad scientist, but there is still only one medical officer that Lord Megatron trusted.

... Well, he supposed that much is true, but he's still going to offer a defense for his actions. "My energon prod has never been the same since Silas snapped it," he mutters resentfully. "I work on it from time to time, that's all."

The reassurance that his vision had gotten at least that much wrong, no matter how trivial, does make him feel better.

"Speaking of the Null... I'd like to get my servos on one to get a better idea of what we're dealing with. Apparently if you wake any of the ones offlined around the city, they all know of it. So it seems best to deal with one... elsewhere."

"Well that can be arranged, surely, the two of us could easily acquire one with minimal effort. It's blocking its process of alerting others that is the hard part." Yeah those pesky hiveminds.

"They are also able to...shapeshift dare I say like us in a way. Of course it's not the same, but I haven't come into contact with one to really assess whether or not they have a mechanism similar to our t-cogs in order to do so."

He waves a clawed hand before he puts them behind his back in thought. "The humans only have parts, but surely acquiring a whole specimen would be simple enough. I am curious to see for myself what exactly these...Null are."

"All the more reason for an autopsy," Knock Out agrees. But Starscream had brought up the same point that the medic was thinking about, how to isolate whatever Null's mechanism for communicating with others of its kind to prevent them all from waking. And part of the problem was, he wasn't sure exactly how much poking and prodding he could do on one without triggering its wake sequence.

"On the off-chance it's a distance thing, we'll need to be away from the city," he pointed out.

"Perhaps the energon prod will work on it. Stunning it or otherwise immobilizing it might prove to be effective." Though he has to wonder if energon will work on these things. But that's another experiment for them to try out.

"Yes, yes, of course. Not that the city needs protecting, given the sorry state of it." But he'll be nice and make sure no humans are harmed...maybe.
