Intro Log: Ten Thousand Lightning Bugs

Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for May.
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: May 10th-16th
Warnings: Confused newbies, pretty fireflies, stuff getting lit on fire

Awakening in Hadriel is perhaps not the most wonderful thing, but as you pry yourself off the hard ground of the colosseum, you may notice that the Door (or possibly one of the gods?) has seen fit to provide you with a little entertainment. Scattered across the ground are a number of handheld video games. These cheap pieces of shit lovingly crafted products can each provide you with whole minutes of entertainment, at least until you get frustrated and smash them to pieces. Have fun!

But not too much fun. If you get too involved in that game, you might miss the approach of some glowing little creatures - guardian fireflies, from the movie Atlantis. Should they land on anything flammable - and yes, that includes you and your hair - it'll burst into flames. Smash them, and they'll explode in a tiny ball of flame, too. There'll be a couple hundred of these things flying around Hadriel, so let's hope you left your stash of gunpowder at home. With the window closed.

Once you've stopped dropped and rolled, feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

She hums a note and shifts a few steps closer to see what shows on the phone. Once she learns how to use the network she'll figure out if she's going to call out the gods about kidnapping her. It doesn't look too difficult from what she's seen so far of it. "So it's just a regular cell phone app?"

[dedikated]

"Pretty much," Kate agrees, closing the app and her phone. She pauses for a moment before asking the question that probably should have been asked earlier: "what's your name?"

That was easy enough to manage in that case. She's at least familiar with cell phone apps enough to know to navigate them with little effort. Ai blinks a moment and offers a smile, "Ebihara Ai."

[dedikated]

"Kate Galloway." That smile gets a quirk of the lips - not quite a full grin, but a short acknowledgement. "Nice t' meet ya, even if we're stuck here." It's a shit reason to meet people, but at least most of them seem nice enough.

"Yeah, you too." She doesn't like the idea that they're stuck. Honestly, that's the worst possible news Ai could get all day. "Just what I wanted; to be stuck in a cave." So much sarcasm, taking a deep breath Ai sighs.

"Thanks for showing me the network. Is it too much to hope that we don't have to sleep in the streets while we're stuck here?"

[dedikated]

It's really great though. She can... Um... Look at the ugly clothes? Run from monsters? Ok yeah this place is dull as stale bread.

"Nah. If you look round you'll find the Spires - tallest buildings about, prob'ly. Think there's some proper houses too. Everything's abandoned so-" just walk in and hope no one has taken a place.

Too bad none of those things intrigue her? She'd love real entertainment around these parts.

"Spires? Guessing they're the equivalent of apartment buildings?" If she can claim a whole building as her own that would be something of note.

[dedikated]

There is always the bar for that. Hadriel: turning everyone into alcoholics.

"Yeah." Kate nods in confirmation and then adds, "Anything else you need to know?"

[outermirrors]

That sounds pleasant.

She shakes her head and bows. "No, thank you. I think I've taken up enough of your time."

[dedikated]

"Reet, then. Guess I'll see you around," She raises her hand before adding, with a gesture to the left, "if you need it, the clinic is that way." That's probably the most accidentally ominous way to put that. But it's still pretty important to know.

For a moment Ai doesn't know how to react to those instructions. Eventually she nods in understanding. "Ah right. Thanks." Another bow and she turns to walk away.
