Oh shit, what even happened last night? You're pretty sure you had a normal night, no crazy drunk antics (unless that is your normal night). But this morning you woke up with a brand new tattoo, and it's... a name?

Maybe it's a name you recognize, one of your good friends. Maybe it's a stranger. Maybe it's someone you can barely stand. No matter who it is, you kind of feel like you should look for them and figure out what's going on with this weird tattoo. And when you find them - well, they've got one too, except this one is your name. It would seem weird, except as soon as you see each other you kind of understand. Of course you'd have a tattoo with the name of the person you've found such an amazing connection with. You were meant to be together.

So enjoy your time with your newfound soulmate. Who knows, you might wake up tomorrow with a whole new name on your arm, a new connection, a new love. Make the most of it!

[True to form, she's behind her desk at the Lab, just tooling around with papers and trying to get stuff done. The stuff is largely nothing, though, looking up every time someone moves around in anticipation of her arrival.]

[ Before too long, Dany arrives in her coat and gloves, entering curiously and smiling when she sees Alphys behind her desk. ]

I haven't been here all that often. [ She admits, glancing around before pulling the gloves from her hands. ] I was afraid that I might not find it. I hope I didn't keep you waiting for very long.

[Honestly, her apologies matter very little, partially because Alphys isn't offended and partially because she's absolutely decked with adoration the moment Dany walks in and has completely forgotten to comprehend language. She blinks dumbly as the other woman starts to take off her gloves and she realizes responding is probably important, despite missing the entire dialogue up to this point.]

I, it-- it's okay!

[Was that right gosh she hopes so. Alphys is behind her desk, the heat lamp positioned over her chair.]

Do you uhm, wanna c-come warm up? I know it's super cold out there uh, no matter what.

[It must be pretty hot, considering the color travelling across her face...]

Yes, thank you. [ If she notices the flush, she doesn't say anything about it. Instead, Dany smiles politely - warmly, this time - and approaches to stand near the desk and the heat lamp. ]

This is wonderful. [ She muses quietly, wonderingly, as she reaches out her hands to the lamp. ] There...isn't a flame, of course.

[ Technology here continuously captures her interest, though the science of it always eludes her. ]

I suppose the benefit lies in its safety, without an open flame.

Oh! Yeah, there isn't fire in it.

[She scoots her chair back so Dany can come properly warm herself, even if right now the lamp isn't very tall- Alphys realizes this pretty quickly and slides off her chair, twisting something on the pole in the middle and then raising it up higher before tightening it again.]

It's a-actually a bulb that turns electricity into heat by the movement of particles within the glass-- kind of like a mini oven!

[Wait does Dany know what an oven is. Alphys figures she'll ask if she needs the clarity.]

So uh, it can't actually hurt anything if it breaks or something. It just shuts off.
