Oh shit, what even happened last night? You're pretty sure you had a normal night, no crazy drunk antics (unless that is your normal night). But this morning you woke up with a brand new tattoo, and it's... a name?

Maybe it's a name you recognize, one of your good friends. Maybe it's a stranger. Maybe it's someone you can barely stand. No matter who it is, you kind of feel like you should look for them and figure out what's going on with this weird tattoo. And when you find them - well, they've got one too, except this one is your name. It would seem weird, except as soon as you see each other you kind of understand. Of course you'd have a tattoo with the name of the person you've found such an amazing connection with. You were meant to be together.

So enjoy your time with your newfound soulmate. Who knows, you might wake up tomorrow with a whole new name on your arm, a new connection, a new love. Make the most of it!

It is. [ She says, compelled by Love, though still cautious. ] But I can tell you little of my home and family, if I'm honest. I really only knew one of my brothers, and we left our home soon after I was born.

[and at Daenerys' words, she feels terrible for having brought up what sounds like it may be a sore subject] I--I'm sorry. We can speak of other things if you wish it?

[ The young queen quickly shakes her head, brushing off Mariane's apology. ]

It's really no trouble. I have faced much hardship in my life - as have we all, I imagine - and so I've long since adapted to relying on myself. [ There's a pause. ] Would you tell me first of your own family, though?

[at the question about her family, she bites her lip for a moment, then looks down] My--my mother and father are dead, betrayed and murdered by one my father held as close as a brother. Now, only my elder brother and I remain and we both survived by chance.

[ It seems Love's influence isn't strong enough to overpower the other woman's grief. Dany feels a pang of sympathy for this stranger and her loss, familiar with betrayal and murder.

"Only my elder brother and I remain." Quite the coincidence. ]

...Is your brother with you here, in Hadriel? [ She presses gently, brows coming together in an expression of compassion. ]

[no, her grief is still as sharp as it was on the day she was forced to leave them behind to die.

indeed. perhaps Love knew of this?]

No. He is not. He remains in Ferelden, mourning the loss of his wife and son. [she sees the look of compassion and it nearly moves her to tears, but she will not cry. she will not allow herself such a weakness]

You truly did lose everyone. [ Again, a familiar notion. Dany reaches to take Mariane's hand and squeezes affirmingly, greatly empathizing with the suffering of this stranger. ] I'm sorry.

[ She has her brother, at least. And Dany is willing to bet that he isn't mad, hasn't threatened his sister and her unborn child.

You have that good fortune, at least. ]

I--yes. I did. [she squeezes back tightly, yearning for comfort] Thank you. So--so am I.

[she has to keep telling herself that she has Alistair who loves her and wants her to be his wife, even before she declared herself so before the Landsmeet. but the rest of her Blight companions are scattering to the winds and she'll likely never see them again.
