Oh shit, what even happened last night? You're pretty sure you had a normal night, no crazy drunk antics (unless that is your normal night). But this morning you woke up with a brand new tattoo, and it's... a name?

Maybe it's a name you recognize, one of your good friends. Maybe it's a stranger. Maybe it's someone you can barely stand. No matter who it is, you kind of feel like you should look for them and figure out what's going on with this weird tattoo. And when you find them - well, they've got one too, except this one is your name. It would seem weird, except as soon as you see each other you kind of understand. Of course you'd have a tattoo with the name of the person you've found such an amazing connection with. You were meant to be together.

So enjoy your time with your newfound soulmate. Who knows, you might wake up tomorrow with a whole new name on your arm, a new connection, a new love. Make the most of it!

Likewise... I need you, Rydia. I need you in my life, I need your companionship and... more beyond that. [He steals another kiss, lingering, taking his time, starting to feel even more confident about their relationship and future together.] I love you so much. I'll do anything for you, as well... and if a day ever comes that you miss the Feymarch, I'd come with you, as long as the Eidolons will have me.

[He already knows Rydia wouldn't take "no" for an answer when it comes to having him with her. He truly would do anything for her, follow her anywhere, whatever she wants.]

You're right, though... I'm better off now than I ever was before. [Sure, he would rather not have been forced to betray all of his friends, or live with the guilt and jealousy he constantly feels. But maybe now it's time to start moving on a little more from that. His feelings for Rosa are swept away, as if carried off by a strong wind. He only loves one woman now.] We were meant to be. I see it so clearly now, even if it took all of this time to get here...

I will give you all I have and all I am if that's what you need, my love. [Her eyes flutter close at his touch, his lips are so delicate and warm and his taste drives her crazy, if anyone will want to take her away they'll have to rip her from his arms.] Don't be silly: I want you to be happy and you aren't one who'd thrive in the underworld, I will be content looking at you soar the skies. Not that the eidolons wouldn't open their doors to the man I chose but... I'd never trap you in a cave.

[Isn't this a healthy love, is it? It's an obsession, yet right now all feels right and perfect.

That's good, that's good. My only regret is not realizing it sooner, we could have been so cool... imagine, two strong power couples saving the world together! And Edge, I guess. [If friendship was such a great source of power who knew what Love could do.] But we are not to live in the past, are we? Just think of all the things we'll do from now on.

Ah, Rydia... thank you. It means everything to me to hear such things... you mean everything to me. I love you more than the sky itself, truly. [It's not a declaration he'd ever make lightly, but it's very much how he feels. No one has ever made him this over the top in love before.] But I'm happy you're willing to be with me on the surface. I wouldn't mind visits to the Feymarch, though.

[All right, even that remark about "power couples and Edge" gets one of those rare sort of laughs out of Kain.] I like the sound of that. Well, who knows, if we return, we may have opportunities yet. Though I hope it remains mostly peaceful, there will still always be monsters to fight, and other enemies, I'm sure... I've never cared to think about the future that much, but now... now I have a great deal of hope for it.

How can I top that as declaration of love? How? [Is there anything Rydia ever loved more than Kain? No place, no people matter more than him.] I can't express more feelings but I can offer you this. [She jumps off his shoulders, stepping once more on front, rasing both hands to her head and taking off her treasured headpiece, offering it to the dragoon.] Please, keep it. It was my mother's and as you love the sky I kept this with me... and I want you to have it.

[It's true Kain won't probably have any use of it and it's one of the most ridicolous things she had ever done but it's a battle of 'I love you more' now.]

Oh wow... [And she likes the sound of his laughters. Her hand is once more raised to caress his cheek, will she ever be able to look away?] Who knows... personally I'd rather live in peace, grow and age with you- [Oh, she will be disappointed when she'll find out her body is out of synch with the human world.] but I wouldn't say no to creating new legends at your side. With a friend like Edward I believe it won't be too hard to have a ballad or two dedicated to the wonderful dragoon of Baron.

Ah... Rydia...

[Kain watches her closely, then accepts the headpiece with a great deal of reverence, holding onto it as carefully as he would a living thing. He knows what it means to her, especially considering that it originally belonged to her mother. He's left speechless for a moment, struggling to come up with the right words for such a significant gesture.]

I'm deeply honored. I promise you, I'll treasure it always, the same way that I treasure you. It... it means more than I can ever express... [To Kain, it's not ridiculous at all, but the single most romantic thing anyone has ever done for him. He's never been happier. He leans in to kiss her as thanks, a heavy, passionate kiss.]

I hope for peace as well. We can still have our excitement and adventures... perhaps I'll restore the dragoons to their former glory. It would be a lot of work, but... perhaps I can even find a dragon to train... I'm sure Edward could indeed make a few songs out of that. [He knows he still has some work ahead to truly move on from his past, but with Rydia beside him, it all suddenly seems more possible than ever before.]
