Leaving the city
Despite spending most of her life confined in a small city, Rydia had her fair share of adventures and chances to learn how to prepare for long trips and after she found herself two traveling partners to check outside the city's borders... she found herself enjoying the preparations for their departure. She checked the stores countless times to find appropriate clothes to wear, non deperibile foods easy to carry and anything that could help during the trip- after all she knew she wasn't going to be of much help considering their goal was to search and examine any eventual technology they could find, at least she could help getting everything ready.
"I think we're set to go." She finally said turning to look at her traveling partners.

Since he had no idea where to even start with packing, he decided to leave it up to Rydia and Ren to figure out what they needed. He could be practical and packed light- warm clothes and thick socks. He had his datapad and blaster tucked away out of sight- hopefully, they wouldn't be needed.
"I believe so. Ren?" he glanced at the other man, eyebrows raised.

"We should be fine to depart."
With his lightsaber was clipped to his belt, Kylo had everything he needed. He's mostly coming along out of curiosity, but also because he knows Hux only has a blaster and a blaster can only do so much.
Mammoth time
The first sign of life since they left the city was now in front of them, a herd of elephant-like creatures with large tusks and thick fur... and it was beautiful. Not that the trio could see them that well from their current distance but even from the safe spot they were it was easy to tell they weren't animals one wanted to understimate.
"A pity there's only three of us, one of those creatures could probably feed the whole town for a while..." a pause as a small grin appeared on her lips, it wasn't the appropriate time to hunt but perhaps she could find people to attempt something in the future, right? "... Hux?" A small grin appeared on her lips as she fumbled in her bag to take her phone out, offering it to her companion "Could you take some pictures of them for me? And... what do you two want to do now? I don't know if they're docile or not... or if we want to find out."
no subject
"I have no intention of finding out," he said as he took her phone from her. He's not sure why anyone would want pictures of these things- they were hardly anything awe-inspiring in his view. But he took a couple of pictures without protest before handing the phone back to her.
"We should go around them. Hopefully, they don't decide we're any kind of threat."

He wasn't going give any further explanation on why they'd be fine against an entire herd of those creatures, just that they would. He intended to cloak them, something easy he learned at a very young age, but he knows how Hux feels about his magic, so he doesn't press the issue. Getting into an argument in front of a stranger isn't really top on his list of things to do on this expedition.

"And I wouldn't mind finding out but if you don't feel confident about it I'd rather not push for any unplesant situation." the summoner comments sliding her phone inside her pockets and offering a wide smile to both men.
"Of course they won't be an issue... let's proceed carefully and let's try not to upset them, this should be enough." She doesn't really know much about Kylo's skills or his ability to hide them so she's not even offering that.

"We'll let Ren handle the creatures," he decided after a moment, glancing back at Rydia. He had his blaster but it wouldn't do much good against one of those creatures- any conflict would be up to the two of them to handle.
Finding the Building
"I hate to be the one suggesting this but..." She finally dared to say, breaking the silence "We should consider to go back."

But he still got up every day, he still kept up with them even though he didn't have the same physical endurance. He stopped when she spoke, looking down to see how high they climbed today. It would be so easy to say yes, to turn back and go back to sleeping in a bed that was relatively more comfortable.
He turned back towards her but stopped as he saw something glint. Without a word he started walking again, this time quicker. Hopefully, he wasn't just imagining things but he thought he had seen something in the distance, something promising.
Powering up the place
After spending a week bothering Hux with silly questions on how to use her phone Rydia learnt to trust him when it came to technology, she just... couldn't understand what they were trying to do melting and moving the snow away from those slabs of metal. Rydia knew the place needed electricity, living in the city managed to teach her as much, and was aware her thunder magic wasn't a sustainable source for it but... how was the sun going to help, exactly?
Still, she didn't move from her spot, hands raised in front of her body and flames coming from them as she used her fire magic to clean the solar panels while Kylo used his 'magic' to remove the ice from another.

"The panels take light and convert it into energy. The light from the nearest star-" he pointed into the sky, not looking directly into the sun. That was generally a bad idea. "-which is composed of energy. The panels take that energy in the light and convert it into a form that can be used to power things here. But in order to do that, the surface has to be clear or the light won't reach where it needs to."
As the snow melted and more fell to the ground, he frowned at seeing damage revealed. It would impair the function but he wasn't sure how much yet. He would have to closely inspect the panels closer once she and Ren were finished.
