Have you been having trouble getting a good night's sleep? Tossing and turning, unable to rest those tired eyes? Or maybe you don't sleep at all, and never have. Not to worry! For a little while, you'll have no trouble at all falling asleep - in fact, as night falls, you'll find yourself overwhelmed with exhaustion whether you want to sleep or not. Lay down and rest your weary head, friends. Everyone could use a little extra sleep.
But what will your dreams bring? Something happy, images of a perfect day? Something hopeful, something you've wanted for a long time? Maybe you'll dream of anger, of the face of your worst enemy. Or maybe - just maybe - you'll have a horrific nightmare, and wake screaming, covered in cold sweat.
Not before others have time to see it, though. As you sleep, as you dream, the other residents of Hadriel, friends and enemies and people you've only met once, might find their way into your dreams. Or you might find your way into theirs - and then have to deal with someone's else's nightmares, or hopes, or anger. For the next ten nights, you'll find yourself either a host or a visitor, and no matter how you try you won't be able to stay awake once night falls.
Sweet dreams, Hadriel. Don't let the asshole fear gods bite.► This log covers May 16th-26th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► You can't die in the dreams, but if you somehow manage to trip and fall and kill yourself getting out of bed, please report it on the death post.
DELIGHT
Wade knew very well that everyone had their own dirty hobbies; ways to get their rocks off that weren't exactly conventional. There were those who constantly danced a fine line between pleasure and pain, between sex and violence, and Wade was definitely one of those people. Put quite simply, killing people was empowering, was almost arousing.
Especially when you got paid do it.
Maybe you're fighting alongside Wade or maybe you're just an innocent bystander who's just wandered in by accident. Whatever the case, Wade's giving you one hell of a show right now. One mook catches sight of you both and opens fire, and before you can even make a move to defend yourself Wade reacts immediately, his beam katanas flashing so quickly it's as if they're creatures completely independent of him; deflecting each bullet as easily as if they'd all been made of tinfoil.
He tosses himself into the air, spinning gracefully before his arm comes down in a powerful downward slash to split a man diagonally through the shoulder. Nor does he stop to catch a breath when he lands, quickly slipping a throwing knife out of a holster strapped to his leg and throwing it in an almost lazy motion, piercing a second mook through the chest with such force that he falls backwards. He offers you a nod and a wink, whether you're fighting alongside him or not, before leaping gaily into the fray like a kid jumping into a swimming pool.
He's singing a song that probably sounds somewhat familiar, although originally sung in a much different tone than the way he's singing it.
Turns out it's a cheery, bubbly rendition of "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor." Only a mind as sick and depraved as Wade's would be able to turn that into a bubblegum pop song.]
