What: The Dreamwalker event
Where: In your comfy bed and your sleepy head.
When: May 16th-26th
Warnings: Good dreams, weird dreams, bad dreams, straight-up nightmares. Please remember to tag for warnings in the header if things are going to be bad!

Have you been having trouble getting a good night's sleep? Tossing and turning, unable to rest those tired eyes? Or maybe you don't sleep at all, and never have. Not to worry! For a little while, you'll have no trouble at all falling asleep - in fact, as night falls, you'll find yourself overwhelmed with exhaustion whether you want to sleep or not. Lay down and rest your weary head, friends. Everyone could use a little extra sleep.

But what will your dreams bring? Something happy, images of a perfect day? Something hopeful, something you've wanted for a long time? Maybe you'll dream of anger, of the face of your worst enemy. Or maybe - just maybe - you'll have a horrific nightmare, and wake screaming, covered in cold sweat.

Not before others have time to see it, though. As you sleep, as you dream, the other residents of Hadriel, friends and enemies and people you've only met once, might find their way into your dreams. Or you might find your way into theirs - and then have to deal with someone's else's nightmares, or hopes, or anger. For the next ten nights, you'll find yourself either a host or a visitor, and no matter how you try you won't be able to stay awake once night falls.

Sweet dreams, Hadriel. Don't let the asshole fear gods bite.

Things are changing around him. It would be alarming, except that the dream logic of this place makes it seem almost normal, almost expected. Adam notices, because of course he does, but it doesn't bother him. That in and of itself is a little worrying, but - it's a dream.

He raises an eyebrow. "Not me? You know, I dated Blue, too." But he gets the point. He's not currently dating Blue, and doesn't really care who she kisses or who wants to kiss her. That's her life, and Adam doesn't have or want any control over that.

Noah knows he should feel much worse about it - he did in fact kiss her, while she was dating Adam. He actually does feel bad about it when he thinks about it - he didn't before, when he was dead. They were always dating. They were always not dating. Time was relative and Noah regularly seemed to shift in and out at different points. These things didn't mean much to him then. Forced into a liner existence once more, certain small things have such greater impact.

Instead what he thinks about though is something else, and his eyes practically light up in their delight. "But you have Ronan to kiss now. I'd apologize if I dreamed about kissing Ronan."

There's the faint throbbing of the floorboards to the beat of Ronan's shitty EDM when Noah mentions him, but his door remains closed.

"I really hope you don't dream about that." The thought probably shouldn't bother him - it's just a dream, who cares about dreams? - but it sort of does. He knows that's petty and silly and kind of selfish, and even if he had the right to be jealous (which he's not sure he does) being jealous over a dream would be pretty much the stupidest thing possible.

But emotions don't bow to logic, which Adam has always found frustrating. He shrugs it off, because it really doesn't matter and it's stupid and anyway obviously Noah wouldn't dream about something like that. He does glance at Ronan's door, then, for just a moment. This is Noah's dream, but they've all left their mark.

"I guess she wouldn't be able to kill you, huh?"

Noah doesn't think he'd dream about kissing Ronan, but he also thinks addressing Adam's worry by pointing it out might not be the best thing.

The room still smells like wildflowers, the sound of phantom footsteps right outside. If Noah opens the door he thinks he'll see Blue there. Just leaving, or just arriving.

"Being dead's good for some things. Living your whole life never able to kiss someone is an awful thought."

"Yeah. It is."

He can't blame Blue for sensibly choosing to just not kiss anyone rather than risk the death of somebody she loves. And if he were in that situation, he'd probably jump at the chance to kiss someone who was definitely safe. He's pretty familiar with desperately wanting things that you can't have, and convincing yourself you don't really want them so it hurts a little less.

Of course, he doesn't know this really happened. This is a dream.

"It might be awkward if she shows up here like I did, though."

Noah keeps looking at the door - that is, looking at Adam one moment, then looking towards the door the next. There's never a knock but there's the feeling that one is about to happen. The same moment, over and over. Time constantly being reused.

"She might throw me out a window."

"That's pretty unlikely. She's not really big enough to. Might kick you in the balls, though."

He looks at the door too. Is Noah expecting Blue to walk through, or someone else? Something else? This has been a pleasant dream so far, but you never know how those kind of things can change.

"Is someone else coming?"

"Just Blue," Noah says softly. It's all wrong though, because Ronan's music is playing, and Adam is here, and when was a time where Ronan was in his room but Adam was here?

The mint plant on Gansey's desk abruptly falls to the ground.

He looks at the plant, a quick glance, the way Adam often does if there's a loud noise or a sudden movement he isn't expecting. But it's just the plant, and this all seems familiar.

"What's wrong, Noah?"

Noah closes his eyes and just breathes - unnecessary breaths, really, because he's still quite dead in the dream. He brings his hands up to rub the side of his head.

"I think... I think I'm waking up? God this is weird, how does Ronan do this every night?"

"You'd have to ask him. It's always been a mystery to me."

He thinks he'll wake up when Noah does. Isn't that how it must work in a shared dream? He doesn't know. This isn't Adam's area at all.
