What: The event log for the Predator vs Prey event
Where: All over the city
When: March 13th-March 21st

It all starts with an explosion, because Rage is excellent at managing her anger. But an explosion isn't enough - she hasn't worked out all her feeling yet. Not until the city itself has gotten caught up in her anger at Fear for being unable to save Delight. And yeah, that means you.

So now you're a predator (Rage) or prey (Fear). You want to hunt, or you're being hunted. Maybe you were defenseless before, or maybe you're the sort who no one could be afraid of... but it's different now, because the gods are passing on their blessings to you. All the better to catch and kill, or run and hide.

What will you do? Try to resist the urge? Good luck with that. Who would want to resist, anyway, when it feels so right to give in? Hunt someone down like a cat after a mouse, or flee like a deer before wolves. Maybe you can find someone to help you, whether that means hunting in packs or looking for safety in numbers. Who knows, maybe you'll even make a few new friends while trying to kill your old ones.

Prey

[An unfamiliar feeling suddenly hits Kain head on, and he's not too sure how to react at first. He knows deep down that all he wants to do right now is run, and keep on running, but this sort of feeling is just... so foreign to him. He's not sure how to take it. Why should he hav this instinct to flee, like a scared animal? He is a dragoon, an experienced warrior, he shouldn't be behaving like this.]

[And yet the feelings persist so strongly that he can't help it. He gives in to the instinctual fear inside of him and starts to run. He glances over his shoulder, warily watching for signs of pursuit. The moment a predator's eyes lock on him, he's ready for them. Or tries to be.]

Do you mean to catch me?

[Kain holds his lance out at the ready, but his hands are shaking with the fear. Standing his ground isn't working as well as he'd hoped it would. He's trying to fight this sensation, as hard as he can, but... he can't quite manage it.]

Then come!

[So be it, he'll take this whole urge to flee as a challenge, taking on his opponent in a way he's not quite used to. So Kain turns and takes off at a run. He's swift and agile, which are traits he usually puts to use when fighting, but for the time being, he's using them instead to hurry away from whoever's chasing him.]

[Aqua likes to think she can be stealthy if called for it, though it hasn't often. Lately, though...these past few days have fueled something in her, a smoldering fire, anger at how she's been taken from her world and her friends like this. About how she's been made a pawn in someone else's game. At these people who don't even recognize the injustice that's been done.

And she knows they should pay.]

So be it.

[She dashes after him, not as fast as her lost young friend but plenty quick on her feet. Her Keyblade already out, she hurls a lightning spell ahead of this fleeing prey, to see what he might do—continue running towards it recklessly, or turn and face her?]

[That fear has burrowed deep down inside of him, and it's overwhelming all of his good sense right now. As Aqua approaches, the hairs stand up on the back of his neck and a shiver runs along his spine. Don't get caught, don't get caught! Rationally, he knows he could just stand and fight, that this would be the quickest way to end it all, to just conquer this fear and fight. But he can't seem to just stop and listen to that part of himself.]

[So when that burst of lightning crackles straight ahead of him, Kain cries out, attempting to jump out of the way. He's only... half successful in his attempt, though, as the lightning zaps out quicker than he can move. So he ends up with a bit of a nasty shock as he propels himself into the air. He shouts, spinning back into an abrupt, shaky landing...]

It won't be... quite that easy!

[Kain grimaces as he springs skyward, hoping to get a bit more distance with his next landing. He's still reeling a bit from that shock, though.]

[She smiles a grim smile at the sound of his cry. Good. He had that coming.

~~But did he? Why? Why does she want to hurt this man?~~

But the smile fades when he chooses a different path to safety—Aqua hadn't anticipated up being an option for her target.]

That's what you think!

[She springs into the air after him, although her leap doesn't go nearly as far as his. But hopefully it's enough to show him that she won't be so easy to shake off, and give her a sense of where he'll land.]

[His heart is pounding so hard, it feels like it'll fly right out of his chest. He's never been so filled with terror like this, before. He'd faced far worse back home, but for some reason, he just... he knows he must keep fleeing, or else...]

And yet... you haven't caught me yet!

[Ok, maybe he shouldn't speak too soon, but Kain is still trying to give this all he's got, despite those unsettled feelings whirling around in his head. He pushes himself harder, jumping higher and farther, the best he can manage right now, as he sees her keeping up with him pretty well. Of course, he can't keep up this pace indefinitely, and might be in trouble if he keeps it up too long...]

Not yet.

[And the 'yet' is a matter of time, as far as Aqua is concerned. He leaps again and gets ahead of her, but not far; she's keeping pace, if at a distance.]

You have to get tired eventually.

And what of yourself?

[This immense fear is hard to bear, it feels like it's just burning all throughout him. He can't stop or rationalize anything, he can just keep fleeing. Is this how it feels to be Edward, all the time, he wonders? Ugh... he must keep going... even if it's already getting just a little bit tougher to take every jump.]

Do you have an infinite supply of energy?
