Event Log: Predator vs. Prey

What: The event log for the Predator vs Prey event
Where: All over the city
When: March 13th-March 21st
Warnings: None

It all starts with an explosion, because Rage is excellent at managing her anger. But an explosion isn't enough - she hasn't worked out all her feeling yet. Not until the city itself has gotten caught up in her anger at Fear for being unable to save Delight. And yeah, that means you.

So now you're a predator (Rage) or prey (Fear). You want to hunt, or you're being hunted. Maybe you were defenseless before, or maybe you're the sort who no one could be afraid of... but it's different now, because the gods are passing on their blessings to you. All the better to catch and kill, or run and hide.

What will you do? Try to resist the urge? Good luck with that. Who would want to resist, anyway, when it feels so right to give in? Hunt someone down like a cat after a mouse, or flee like a deer before wolves. Maybe you can find someone to help you, whether that means hunting in packs or looking for safety in numbers. Who knows, maybe you'll even make a few new friends while trying to kill your old ones.

THE OPEN ONE STOP BULLYING HER

[evocation]

[Kyna has decided she's sick of hiding in Wash's room, trying not to die, and so she's decided to take a different tack—she's going to deal with as many would be killers as possible and try to lower the body count.

Of course, the issue with that is that Kyna's fighting style is essentially brute force, and so it takes almost no effort at all for him to sneak up on Kyna. By the time she actually hears him, it's far too late for her to react.]

[Yo Kyna you ever been kicked in the back by SPIDER-MAN??? because that's pretty much what he's going for, just swinging in on a web and wrecking balling his way in. Like okay, he's just got the mask on, but it still counts as spider-man being a dick.

So uh, heads up, buckeroo.]

[evocation]

[Heads up is not something Kyna is historically great at, so she goes sprawling onto the ground, trying to scramble away and flip herself onto her back to face him. She doesn't make an effort to attack just yet, but her hands are cracking with electricity.]

Peter, what the fuck.

[I'm sure she was probably expecting an answer in the form of like, words, but Peter's not really in the mood for chatting. What she gets instead is Peter casually waiting for her to get back up, while watching her like some kind of weirdo vulture. A weirdo vulture in a dumb mask. He could just attack her now, but it's no fun to end it all so fast, y'know?]

[evocation]

[Okay, this isn't going as horrifically as she'd expected. Once she's on her feet, Kyna takes a step back, trying to put a bit of distance between them. One of the downfalls of being so dependent on magic is that whole glass cannon thing, but she really, really doesn't want to hurt a kid, superpowers or not.]

Okay, look, I really don't want to zap you. Can we just... not?

[Peter doesn't really want to be zapped, but he's also not in his right mind like at all right now. So, Peter answers that by lunging forward and swinging a fist at Kyna's face like an asshole, rather than doing something rational. Like, y'know, not doing that.]

[evocation]

[Fist, meet Kyna's face.]

Ow, what the fuck.

[Admittedly, she absolutely should have expected that, and later, it'll set in that she totally just got punched by Spider-Man. For now, she does the only thing she can—she brings her hand up to grab his arm to give him a little shock. At this point, it's still more of a warning.]

[Congratulations, you just got decked by Spider-Man. He was absolutely subconsciously holding back because otherwise her whole head would have become very busted, and that's no good.

The shock is startling enough that he yanks his arm free and hops back away from her, rather than just kicking her shit in like he'd originally planned. What he's going to do instead is fire some webbing at her, trying to restrict her movement so he can get in there for some butt kicking without having to worry about getting his face zapped off. I mean he has no idea how magic works, does she even need to touch him to zap him? Probably not, but his brain isn't working quite right at the moment so hey.]
