Event Log: Predator vs. Prey

What: The event log for the Predator vs Prey event
Where: All over the city
When: March 13th-March 21st
Warnings: None

It all starts with an explosion, because Rage is excellent at managing her anger. But an explosion isn't enough - she hasn't worked out all her feeling yet. Not until the city itself has gotten caught up in her anger at Fear for being unable to save Delight. And yeah, that means you.

So now you're a predator (Rage) or prey (Fear). You want to hunt, or you're being hunted. Maybe you were defenseless before, or maybe you're the sort who no one could be afraid of... but it's different now, because the gods are passing on their blessings to you. All the better to catch and kill, or run and hide.

What will you do? Try to resist the urge? Good luck with that. Who would want to resist, anyway, when it feels so right to give in? Hunt someone down like a cat after a mouse, or flee like a deer before wolves. Maybe you can find someone to help you, whether that means hunting in packs or looking for safety in numbers. Who knows, maybe you'll even make a few new friends while trying to kill your old ones.

[WOW all Peter wanted to do was pass through on his way to go probably murder some poor, innocent sucker, when all of a sudden STAR WARS HAPPENS. Peter's spider-sense doesn't know how the hell it's supposed to react to being snatched out of the air by nothing, but it does know how to react to being slammed into a tree. Unfortunately, he doesn't really have time to react before the slamming part happens, but he manages to catch himself on the tree before just falling and eating shit.

And now he's going to take a second to look around frantically for whatever or whoever just caused that crazy shit to happen. Upon spotting Kylo, he decides to just stay up here on his tree for now and shoot some webs at him. It's less to really stick him to anything and more to just see what he does next.]

[ Attention focused on the spider... kid in the tree, Kylo uses the Force to stop the webs from reaching him, though it's a little bit more difficult than he thought it would be. Turns out they're not as easy to deal with as blaster bolts, but he manages to step out of the way of most of them allowing them to hit the trees behind him. He decides he hates it, and he's thankful he's never come across anything like this in his own galaxy. ]

It's no fun if you stay up there.

[ Kylo activates his lightsaber, twirling it in his right hand, waiting for Peter's next move. ]

[Peter is staying RIGHT HERE. At least for right now. This whole caution thing isn't likely to last, since Rage is doing her thing and Peter's already pissed off to begin with.]

I mean, it's no fun if I come down there and get cut in half by a light saber either. Just sayin'.

[Under normal circumstances, he'd just bail out. But everything's weird right now, so rather than bailing out, he's like "fuck this guy". He dos the mature adult thing and snaps a large branch off the tree he's in, and then just pitches it at Kylo.]

[ What a little piece of shit.

Honestly, Peter already knew that was going to go one of two ways: it was going to be taken care of via the Force or cut in half with the lightsaber. Kylo opts for tossing it out of the way via the Force, not really wanting to let the branch get close enough to him to cut with the lightsaber. ]

Is that all you've got?!

[ While he's at it, hand extended out in front of him, he snaps the branch Peter is currently on in half. You know, just to see what he'll do... because it's no fun if the kid stays perched in the tree throwing branches and spiderwebs. ]

[Aw man, there goes his perch. Peter rolls with it pretty smoothly though, gracefully landing on the ground in a crouch. He takes a second to size this whole situation up, trying to piece together some kind of strategy in the space of ooooooh, about three seconds. Does he keep his distance to avoid that light saber and try to wear this guy out by just tossing shit at him and annoying him until he makes a mistake? Or does he close in and attempt to physically overpower him and risk getting gutted by a laser sword?

Maybe he can do both. He doesn't charge Kylo right away, but he does shoot some webs. Not at him, but at a thick branch in a tree above him. One yank later and the branch is ripped free of it's tree, falling towards Kylo. Peter isn't sure how long it'll distract him, if it does at all, but he decides to risk closing in. He's more jumping and lunging forward rather than running, which would make light saber dodging a lot trickier, but hey YOLO.]

[ Kylo isn't used to this. He's used to blasters and the Force and not this. So the webs? The webs are distracting. And the webs pulling a branch from the tree and toward Kylo? Even more distracting when he's trying to keep his eyes on the spider kid. He wishes he could focus, consult the Supreme Leader, have some sort of guidance, but damnit he couldn't see past his rage, wanting only to kill this little piece of shit.

He manages to jump out of the way at the last minute, the branch hitting the ground inches behind him, and that's when he loses track of Peter until he's right in front of him, lunging forward... And, Peter was right, it makes dodging the lightsaber a lot trickier.

Kylo manages to swing it forward, hopefully catching Peter's leg with it. And, yes, everything Peter saw in the movies is true: it hurts like a bitch. ]
