Event Log: Predator vs. Prey

What: The event log for the Predator vs Prey event
Where: All over the city
When: March 13th-March 21st
Warnings: None

It all starts with an explosion, because Rage is excellent at managing her anger. But an explosion isn't enough - she hasn't worked out all her feeling yet. Not until the city itself has gotten caught up in her anger at Fear for being unable to save Delight. And yeah, that means you.

So now you're a predator (Rage) or prey (Fear). You want to hunt, or you're being hunted. Maybe you were defenseless before, or maybe you're the sort who no one could be afraid of... but it's different now, because the gods are passing on their blessings to you. All the better to catch and kill, or run and hide.

What will you do? Try to resist the urge? Good luck with that. Who would want to resist, anyway, when it feels so right to give in? Hunt someone down like a cat after a mouse, or flee like a deer before wolves. Maybe you can find someone to help you, whether that means hunting in packs or looking for safety in numbers. Who knows, maybe you'll even make a few new friends while trying to kill your old ones.

[Sure enough, Ivar's limped over to the man, his right dragging more then the left. A hand with an iron grip grabs Shigeru by the shoulder as he tries to get up, yanking him to his feet. Ivar's not very stable even with the leg braces, so he's using Shigeru for balance as he takes out one of his knives.]

Struggling will get you nowhere. It'll be easier if you don't fight.

[There's something in his tone that's like twisted compassion. Since Shigeru healed him, he'll make his death quicker than most. He traces the knife down the side of Shigeru's face. Tempting as it would be to carve one of his eyes out so he can watch his victim writhe in pain, he'll go for something quicker. Perhaps a slashed throat or quick stab to the heart?]

[ Shigeru winces and lets out a soft whimper, as he tries to break Ivar's grip. He's strong, stronger than most humans. It makes Shigeru shudder when that blade is brought out. Reminds him of the time he was dissected over and over again by Jern. His body stiffens before he smacks away Ivar's hand. A small look of defiance in his eyes before he realizes what he's done.

He might be breathing heavily as he gives Ivar a frightened look. ]

[There's a small flicker of surprise when Shigeru pushes away his hand. There's an insane smile curving his lips.]

So, the little mouse has some courage in him after all. Why don't we see how brave you really are?

[Then he brings the knife downwards until it's resting on Shigeru's left arm. He slashes then, not deep, but enough to make him start bleeding.]

[ He knew he shouldn't have done that. Shigeru will let out a pained whimper with that slice to his arm. However the bleeding is shot lived as the wound heals almost instantly afterwards.

Regardless the pain and shock of it are still lingering as his arm shakes in Ivar's grip. He'll try to pull away with a hard yank, mouthing the word 'stop' as he does so. Not only is the pain making him feel sick but the fact that someone is touching him as well. His mysophobia makes physical contact impossible at the best of times, but this? This is even worse when he's like this. ]

[So that healing extended to himself as well as others. Ivar's delighted upon making this discovery. It means that this torture could go on nearly indefinitely if he wanted it to.

He reads the word off Shigeru's lips, but his only response is to dig his fingers in harder and more cruelly.]

Sorry, little mouse. But you're going nowhere. Not until I'm done with you.

[mysophobic]

[ No. No. This can't be happening. Not again. He was tortured once like this and he never wanted to experience that ever again. He can't go through that again. He'll just shake his head, mouthing the word 'stop', and this time he'll move to push Ivar away. He'll also try to break the others grip on his arm as he struggles to get free. ]

[The Viking runs his knife down Shigeru's cheek, making a deeper cut this time now that he knows that the man can heal. Ivar's not expecting the other to keep struggling as hard as he does and he loses his grip on him for a moment. He goes to grab him again if he can, his tone almost purring like a cat.]

No, no, no. I'm not done with you yet.
