Intro Log: It's All Fun and Games

Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for April
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: April 10th-12th
Warnings: None

Welcome to Hadriel. You're a new arrival... or maybe you're not. Maybe this is all very familiar, and you're already rolling your eyes at ending up here again. In that case, welcome back! And if you're new, welcome! Your welcoming committee today is a bunch of creepy floating Shugguraths. Some of them spit acid, some of them can shock you with electricity, and some can freeze you. What we definitely know for sure is that none of them like you, so you better start running - or maybe try to shoot one down. Let's hope you've got help, because that's not going to be easy to do alone!

Or you can grab one of the weapons off the floor of the colosseum and just go for it. That'll work great for about five seconds, before you realize that all the weapons are in fact fun toys for kids to play with, and not entirely suitable for killing big floating monsters. But hey, at least you tried!

Once you've finished indulging your 90's nostalgia, feel free to look around. You can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

► This log covers April 10th-12th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

[while wiles and trickery were Tyrell traits. she's doing her best to use them for good now and not merely for her own advancement. it's up to others to say how successful she's been.

and she arches an eyebrow at Kelson's description of Araxie]
She sounds formidable indeed! And that's quite clever, to use herself as a decoy so that another could have the woman he truly wanted while keeping her own reputation intact. [she reaches out to clasp his hand] I'm so very grateful to hear that you've found someone so well-suited to you and vice versa.

[her lips twist in a wry grin]

It is not. Not in the least. I . . . suppose you could say that I was fortunate in that both Joffrey and Tommen wanted only me?

[she looks back and has to think a moment] ...had the Wars of the Five Kings never occurred, I think perhaps father would have attempted to win me Robb Stark. The Stark line goes back for thousands of years while the Tyrell line only goes back three hundred, so to win his hand for me would have been quite the achievement. And [she pauses, pensive] from what I've heard of Robb Stark, I think we could have been happy. It would not be the immediate rush of a heady romance, but a slowly building kind of love, the kind that endures.

[Wiles and trickery were not traits he usually associated with Haldanes, but perhaps Araxie got it from her mothers side. Then again, there had never been a Haldane Queen before. Perhaps such traits were common in Haldane women. As for Margaery, Kelson would like to say she had been successful, but he hadn't seen her yet in a position where she might have had to make a choice between power and good.]

She told me she quite enjoyed the rouse of being wooed. I'm sure you two would have gotten along splendidly.[He squeezed her hand lightly in response.]

I've never heard anyone refer to Joffrey wanting them as 'fortunate' but I suppose so. It sounds like you could have been happy with Robb Stark.

[when she first arrived, she'd have chosen power. now, after nearly two years, she'd choose good. Matt had insisted on total honesty and to win him, that's what she gave him. imagine her surprise at his willingness to accept her, shady past and all]

I'd love to meet her. It sounds as though we'd be great friends. But. Not here. Not in this place. [she squeezes back, then releases his hand]

Fortunate in that I could keep him sweet when others couldn't. There's no doubt in my mind that it wouldn't have lasted, though, which is likely why grandmother did what she did. And [still pensive] yes. I agree. Were we given the chance. [she sighs] Alas, we were not and it's one of those "might have beens" that I think of from time to time.
