Catchall Exploration Log
Who: Ahsoka and You
What: Ahsoka gets to know the jungle and communes with it.
Where: The jungle outside the city.
When: Anytime during during the first two weeks of the month; if you have a preference, let me know!
Warnings: None apply.
At least this planet's environment is more suited to her body; she doesn't appreciate the extremity of the heat, but she was made for warmth and abundant foliage, even if she'd left that behind at an early age to be a Jedi.
There's a more important reason for her to explore, however. It's a jungle, and they may have to fight in it. Best to get to know the place a little, and see if anything changes.
A
It's easier to move amongst the trees. Ahsoka jumps between them quickly; if you're there, you might hear the rustling, as she's not too concerned about stealth. She'll pop out if you need help or get curious.
B
The forest is full of plenty, but Ahsoka still finds a clearing to meditate in. It's refreshing, being able to feel so much life around her that isn't part of a town or city or base. She hasn't had many opportunities for that even before arriving here. Find her crosslegged, eyes closed, and unworried too, even if you and/or a strange animal approach.

Hey, hello there? Can you hear me?
no subject
Hello.
[ The stranger seems a little weary. She offers a friendly smile. ]
Are you exploring too?
no subject
I actually think I got lost... [She admits with a sheepish smile] All those trees look all the same for me and I've been searching for a way home for hours...
no subject
[ She's fortunate—well, in this case—to have gone through so many environments in life that she can adapt without fuss.
Ahsoka gets out of her position fluidly and stands. ]
I could walk you back if you'd like.

[Rydia only wishes she could say the same, she has traveled far and wide but she has still been confined in a cave for most of her time. It's... always strange and alien dealing with anything different.]
You... you're a life saviour, ma'am. I would gladly accept your help, between this heat and the bugs I just can't wait to find my way back home.
no subject
[ She respects the politeness of "ma'am" in the situation, but she's happy to get her name used instead, as soon as possible.
Rydia's others words bring a question to mind. ]
You're a hunter?
[ Her people had once been hunters. That was in the past for the most part, and Ahsoka had left her many of people's traditions behind anyway--though she supposes her life has involved its fair share of hunting. ]

If the Null were as tall and mechanical as she'd heard, they had to be extra stealthy about creating obstacles and booby traps. Braced on tree limb for a wider range of view (her arm hooked for balance), Sonya went between taking notes or pictures on her messenger to work on later. This was a sort of creativity she could get behind, and she'd been exploring and hunting in this area for weeks, so she had a good idea of where to begin.
This was also why she took notice of the sound of leaves rustling above her, and looked up to see she wasn't the only one roaming in the tree levels.

Feeling no hostility in the gaze, she looks down and calls out.
"Hello there. Another sightseer?"
no subject
"More a case of recon." Sightseeing implied this was for her own pleasure, and this was far from the case.
no subject
She nodded. "Good to hear. I've been doing the same. It's a lot to cover."
no subject
This wasn't about too many chiefs, this was about everyone pulling their weight.

"We don't always get a chance to know the place we'll be fighting in, and it seemed wise to take it."
no subject
She hadn't faced the Null, but she'd read previous reports and spoke with those who had. Much as Sonya appreciated a face-to-face fight, she was certainly not above using more unconventional means either so long as it meant their survival. "This forest is so dense that fighting one-on-one might not be ab option."

The jungle added factors to fighting, and complexity makes fighting more difficult. But that would be true for both sides; at least it also meant people could hide if they found themselves fleeing outside the city, rather than being exposed as they ran, and it would slow down an invasion.
