Event Log: Null Attack

What: The event log for the Null Attack event
Where: All over the city

What starts as a normal day will begin to herald in the beginning of the end. On May 29th, you might see something in the sky out of the corner of your eye- blink and you miss it, but there's definitely something there, something that's not any kind of animal you've ever seen. Now that you know to look, you may be paying closer attention to the sky in order to catch the next one that flies past- a ship. A ship that that seems to be designed in a way that might remind you of the Null themselves.

As the days pass, it becomes unmistakable- the Null are here and are scouting out the area. It's time to prepare for an immediate attack and start putting all those contingency plans to good use. Will you gear up for a fight and fall into formation? Will you close and lock your doors and stay inside? Or perhaps there's some other plan that you want to enact?

You'll have time to discuss that on the network later, but now you need to start reacting to the Null's actions- which are apparently to start building smaller encampments around the city as they try to find the way inside. Confusion is holding them at bay for now but it might be time to start building some defensive measures and fortifications, because she won't be able to keep them at bay forever.

When they break in, they do so in a big way- with a massive explosion at Confusion's temple that rattles throughout the entire city. It's obvious that something has happened- and what exactly that something is reveals itself shortly when Null begin to flood the city, having broken through Confusion's protection.

This is when the fight escalates to an all-out war. Nobody is spared, and they're watching everyone from above. What will you do? How will you keep the ones you love safe? How can anyone survive this? All you can do is fight back, all we can do is wait. Good luck, Hadriel.

[it doesn't sound like a name. it sounds like gibberish. not that she can blame him, he's in for a painful experience and she's nowhere near done yet. she's not even halfway.

there's a big difference between embroidering handkerchiefs and sewing flesh. but she has to do it, she has to get her friend ready for going back out there into the mass of the Null.

she knows that he can defend himself and fight back better than most, but it doesn't make it easier]

[He just nods in response. Yes, he'll be okay, but boy buddy is this shit ever painful. Every single stitch is excruciating and it's taking every last ounce of willpower he's got to sit still and let Tinya work. He won't even have time to rest after this because he needs to get back into the fight. Man, he wishes he could just take a nap or something.]

[unphase]

[she imagines it must be. she stole the implements for putting him back together, not for putting him together with a lack of pain. she only has her monogrammed handkerchief at her disposal, one monogrammed by a powerful phaser and witch to fend off the pain.

so she continues. she's about halfway done by now]

[YOU'RE DOING GREAT TINYA. By they time she does finish up though, Peter looks like he's close to passing out. Good news though! No more bleeding, thanks in part to his body's accelerated healing, but mostly Tinya stitching him up. He'll be back in robot fighting shape in no time.

I mean he looks miserable right now, but later. After she's done, he pops that handkerchief out of his mouth and clumsily lets it drop to the floor.]

S-shit.

[That's about all he's got right now, just give him a second.]

[unphase]

[yes, she notices that he looks like he's on the verge of passing out by the time she finishes stitching him up. she's honestly torn between trying to wake him up and letting him sleep.

but he seems to make the decision for her, popping out the handkerchief and looking miserable]

That--could've went better, huh?

Coulda gone worse, too.

[All in all, he can't complain too much. Well, he could complain, but there's no time to sit around whining. After taking a few seconds to sit and collect himself, he takes a deep breath and reaches for his armor.]

Time to get back to it, I guess. Those robots aren't gonna kick their own asses.

[unphase]

I guess.

[she sits back on her haunches, waiting. she kinda hopes he'll err on the "let's take a break" side, but she knows him too well for that. and so]

You're not going back out there without me.

[itsnotaonesie]

[NO BREAKS ONLY ROBOT PUNCHING. Peter gets suited up, temporarily patching any holes in his armor with some webbing before turning to Tinya expectantly.]

Yeah, well. That was the plan. You coming?

[unphase]

[...at some point, she's going to force him to stop and eat. he knows that, right?]

Right behind you. But this time, let's stick to groups no larger than eight. That's four each, that should be doable.

[itsnotaonesie]

[Please do, he needs a snack like whoa right now.]

Not a bad idea, but I can't make any promises. If I see a thing that needs fought, I'm gonna fight it.

[unphase]

[best not to mention that aloud, if she knew, she'd drag him off to eat something]

Then you won't be facing it alone. I'll be right beside you.

[YOU'RE NOT MY REAL MOM TINYA but for real he wouldn't turn down a protein bar or something]

I know you will. Thanks for watching my back. I'd watch yours better but uh, it's kind of transparent half the time so it's kind of hard to make out.

[He's kidding. He will absolutely keep an eye on Tinya and try to make sure she doesn't get laser'd to death.]

[WHAT LUCK, SHE HAS A COUPLE IN HER POUCHES. JUST. ASK.

she laughs] It's all right. I know that I'm at slightly less risk than most people are. [she holds her thumb and index finger about half an inch] This much less at risk.

[and she'll totally keep him safe. she has powers, a katana, and magic, after all]
