I'm your friend...
Who: Yu and Ai (Pun? Pun.)
What: Ai has had A Week, and Yu is there to listen (closed).
Where: Yu's apartment in the Spires.
When: June 1st; evening.
Warnings: A desperate need for cheese to go with the whining? Um, otherwise NA. :P
Yu couldn't help but look a be despondent at what happened to his living room in the short time Ai had come to stay with him. He should have known something like this would happen when he saw the first dress suddenly appear in the apartment. Now the living room was practically overrun with clothes that weren't his (though the part of his mind that had been gungho about crossdressing thought some of them were cute), and he didn't know what he was supposed to do to get it to stop.
"...maybe I should look into a two bedroom apartment..." he murmured faintly, glancing to the side to see even... more... clothes... "...or maybe a house."
He shook his head, before going into the kitchen, peering inside first to see her there. If he had to put words to how she looked, he would start with "irate" and go down the line to "about to choke someone". It was tempting to quietly back away, but he couldn't do that in good conscious.
"Ebi...?" he began softly. "Are you all right?"

But at this point an apartment with another bedroom wouldn't be a bad idea given how uninterested Ai seems to be in leaving. A house would be even better since there would be more closet space for her to abuse.
In the kitchen she's up to her elbows in soapy water and dishes, furiously scrubbing at imaginary spots of food particles or grime, mumbling to herself all the while mumbling about the scarred jerkface and his high and mighty demands. Technically, she knows she shouldn't be annoyed she got the last word in, she left him there alone but she's still annoyed that she even went in the first place.
"Of course I'm fine why wouldn't I be?" The words are forced, an edge lying just below the sweetness as she goes back to scrubbing a dish.
no subject
"Because you've scrubbed the same spot twenty times, just since I've been standing here," he replied bluntly, going over to gently pull the dish away from her before she scrubbed it out of existence. "What's wrong?"
no subject
Ai frowns and reluctantly releases the pot into his hands. Her attention shifting to a glass that is floating int he soapy water. Her hands only stilling when he repeats his question. With a frown Ai huffs sending a stray bit of hair flying. "That dumb scarred jerk, thinking he can just demand things and boss me around."
no subject
Well, he wasn't sure what to make of that.
"...who?" he asked, feeling a little dumb.
no subject
She groans. She thought she'd told him about Mello before, maybe she hadn't. Annoying blond butthead that he is. "Just this guy I woke up with. He's terrible."
no subject
"You woke up with...?" he echoed, and he let out a faint noise, realizing the direction his mind went to and feeling bad about it. Yosuke wasn't even here, and he was being a bad influence on him. "Sorry... who? What did they do?"
no subject
"The arena we uh woke up next to each other," she explains shooting him a disbelieving look. Really Yu? She has standards, she doesn't jump into bed with people she just met. He of all people should know better. "Mello," she mutters exaggerating the syllables. "He think he can just command people to do things and then he gets mad when I tell him to shove it."
no subject
Yu frowned slightly at that, a worried look crossing his face for a moment. He moved away from the door frame, going over to lean against the kitchen counter instead. A soft expression came to his face, trying to be comforting and encouraging for her.
"...what did he try to get you to do?"
no subject
She waves a soap covered hand at him, "Any kind of command that his tiny brain could send to his mouth. Lots of ordering me around like I'm some mindless toy that needs direction to do anything." The image of a gun held in her face flashes in her memory, "And he throws tantrums if I stand up to him."
no subject
Concern crossed Yu's face instantly at that. "...he didn't hurt you, did he?"
no subject
"No just threatened me. I sort of threatened to kick him in the face if he tried to look up my skirt." Almost everything about that weird dream and actual escape was threats and snark. Same went for their meeting outside the bar.
"He threatened to come find me if I didn't meet him last time."
no subject
"Is he someone we should worry about?" he asked softly. The meaning behind it might have been a little obvious, since she had seen what he was capable of: was he going to need to sic Izanagi on someone?
no subject
"I can handle him. I think. But if I end up dead in an alley somewhere worry then." She has to admit there is a possibility of death since he was more than willing to wave a gun in her face. But she does hope that it won't become necessary all the same. She really likes being alive in general,
no subject
"If he's that dangerous, then I will protect you."
Of course he would; his friends meant everything to him.
no subject
"He's only dangerous to my blood pressure."
She doesn't doubt that he would but she can't depend on him for everything. He already let her invade his apartment, she couldn't very well expect him to handle this too just because of their friendship. She couldn't have him fight all of her battles.
no subject
Speaking of...
"Did you want to move?" he asked, pausing a moment when he realized that he just up and changed the topic for no outward reason. "Not that I think he'll come after you here; just that this was meant for one person and it's a little cramped. A two bedroom apartment would be better, I think."
Or a house. That was still up in the air too.
no subject
She turns her head confusion all across her face. Well that was a little out of left field there. Move? She's kept where she's staying pretty close to the chest. That was half the reason she went to meet Mello, even though she still would have found it entertaining to have him try and find where she was staying on his own.
"I guess. The couch is comfortable and all but a real bed would be nice." She doesn't care if it's a larger apartment or a house, just so long as it has a second bedroom.
no subject
"We'll look into it together later if you want?" he suggested.
no subject
"That would be nice. Maybe a place with more than one bathroom so I don't keep you waiting all the time?"
no subject
Nice save.
no subject
Semi-decent save, she's still not what you would call smiling.
no subject
"Ah... yeah, I guess we are," he replied faintly, before a small smile worked its way onto his face. "We should probably get a house, then. That would be bigger, and we'd have more space in the event some friends from home arrived."
He almost wanted to say, "Like Ichijou," but she probably got the idea.
no subject
"That might be the better of the two options. Can we just make sure whatever we pick isn't near that egomaniac?" She brights some at the implied meaning, but her hopes of anyone from home arriving are low. She hadn't even expected Yu to be there, it had been a happy surprised. Maybe the door would surprise her.
"If they did arrive who do you hope it is?" She asks rinsing soap from her hands. She's curious and maybe a little cruel (or a glutton for punishment). She still feels the sting from Yu's implication she was something other than a friend.
no subject
"...of course, my immediate answer is Yosuke," he replied. Because he's best friend, Ai; don't get any ideas. "Though really, anyone would be great. Amagi-san, Naoki-kun..."
He paused, a smile on his face. "Ichijo-san."
no subject
Oh? Is there an idea she's supposed to be getting about that? Like say how Yosuke is awfully friendly to him or how he seems to get so giddy in his presence. What is there to misunderstand about any of that?
Her cheeks tinting a pale pink at the mention of Ken yet again. "I'm not sure I would want Ichijo-san to be here."
