For once, the new arrivals to Hadriel will not be waking up on the cold hard ground of the colosseum. Oh, sure, you'll still awaken in the arena - but this time the Door has been kind enough to ensure that you wake up comfortably arranged in a very nice chair. Or maybe not so comfortably. Some of those look pretty awkward - hopefully you didn't wake up with a crick in your neck! And hey, feel free to try to drag some of these super cool chairs to your new homes. They're probably not cursed or anything.
As you make your way out of the arena, be careful getting to close to the walls - well, except that's the only way out, so good luck! Chilling up on there waiting to get the drop on you are Skulltulas. These funky-looking spiders have squishy underbellies, but their upper exoskeletons are hard and very difficult to break through. They really just want to nibble you a few times, and maybe suck out all of your blood. No big deal, right? Have fun!
Have you conquered your arachnophobia and managed to escape? Great! Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers June 10th-15th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

[It didn't sound like it. And even if he was, there's still the point that Muscovy doesn't remember coming here.]
no subject
No. I was crossing the mountains and heading straight for the desert.

[It's alright if Muscovy doesn't understand that last bit. Ushahin will often simply start off on a tangent without caring if anyone can follow his train of thought.]

[He'd have thought of electrical machines or faerie queens instead, but he hasn't seen either of those yet, either, so he won't comment with that.]

[Once, that would have interested Ushahin greatly. Considering his home was gone and family have all been killed, it's understandable that he's a bit apathetic in trying to figure out what has happened. Anything was a step up from where he's been.]

Because a god and a dragon and a powerful ruler and a machination can all be equally strong. [And good in defending themselves and hard to force to return oneself, even though he has no direct interest in that. This is where he is now, and he'll have to deal with it.] But they can want different things, or sometimes they don't want anything at all and are just sick.

But I do believe those answers will have to wait until later. There appears to be more pressing concerns at the moment.

[Nodding - that means that there is no need to worry about it really because they'll learn soon enough, anyway. And if not, they'll learn that soon enough, too.
He looks around, studying the people and the room around them.]

[Ushahin watches as the first spiders come crawling out of the shadows. He blinks, the only sign that he's surprised by this turn of events at all. Everything soon seems to fall into chaos as the other people in the arena start to notice the beasts. His hand never even moves towards the sword at his side.
He turns back to the boy.]
I suggest running.
no subject
They are coming from all sides, yes?
[He'd love to run. Running, in absence of the General and considering the sheer number of spiders headed for them, does indeed seem like the only sustainable option.
If it was possible, but there are, as stated, a lot of them, and they are coming from all sides.]
no subject
Yes, they are.
[He seems quite unperturbed at the thought of giant spiders coming for them. Ushahin has not survived death, destruction, and a dragon to end up in the belly of an eight-legged beast. If they are anything like the spiders back home, he can still affect their minds. He looks at the one drawing closest to them, peering inside a mind made up of base instincts and little else. eatmeateatneedfoodeatmeatmeatmeatattackeat So very predictable. He sends a wave of base terror into its mind. runbadleavefleedangerdangerdanger. It lets out a chittering noise and backs up, seeking out one of the people who will be easier prey.]
That's one less.

...They seem to be fine, by the looks of it, so he will not and start to... not run, because he cannot properly run with how much he's carrying, but walk very fast. He'd look for Usashin, but anyone with the least bit of sense would start to run now, so he's expecting him to do that.]

[Ushahin has indeed taken off for the exit, looking for his raven friend as he makes his way around the spiders. He can handle himself, and if not, well, he's always been good at finding someone stronger than himself to hide behind. He's confident he can get out of here unscathed. As for the boy, well, no better time to start fending for oneself than the present.]
