For once, the new arrivals to Hadriel will not be waking up on the cold hard ground of the colosseum. Oh, sure, you'll still awaken in the arena - but this time the Door has been kind enough to ensure that you wake up comfortably arranged in a very nice chair. Or maybe not so comfortably. Some of those look pretty awkward - hopefully you didn't wake up with a crick in your neck! And hey, feel free to try to drag some of these super cool chairs to your new homes. They're probably not cursed or anything.
As you make your way out of the arena, be careful getting to close to the walls - well, except that's the only way out, so good luck! Chilling up on there waiting to get the drop on you are Skulltulas. These funky-looking spiders have squishy underbellies, but their upper exoskeletons are hard and very difficult to break through. They really just want to nibble you a few times, and maybe suck out all of your blood. No big deal, right? Have fun!
Have you conquered your arachnophobia and managed to escape? Great! Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers June 10th-15th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

Yeah? Alright then. Red's my favorite color though.

[ She reflects his smile, however brief. It's a good smile, with innocence despite what he said about being murdered. He has found his corner of happiness here. ]
I think this one goes better with [ gesturing to the others he's picked out and laid on the bag. ]

[And well he'll also just change his shirt here because his current one still kinda smells like alcohol.]
While I was a ghost I got stuck in the clothes I died in. School uniform, seven years. So lame.

You did not have to — rattle a lot of chains? Say "boo"?

Mostly I was only visible if I could pass for alive, but not everyone could see or hear me. Other times I couldn't manage more than the cold spots, displaced wind, slamming doors kinda deal.
[He gives a little huff once he's got the new shirt on, smoothing it out and then holding his arms out to show Wanda. Good look, yes/no?]
One time I knocked Gansey's mint plant off his desk. Adam said that wasn't helping anything though.
no subject
I was right.
[ A little smug. The colour brings out something in his face, some softness she likes. ]
What were you trying to tell him when you did that?
no subject
He hums a bit at Wanda's question though, his own eyes going distant and thoughtful as he tries to recall what exactly was going on then. It was when he was dead, and time didn't matter so much to him. Those memories are hard to place in the straight lines of a liner existence that his friends understand and move in - it didn't apply to Noah at the time.]
It was ... after they'd found my body. It got moved from - from where I'd been murdered.
[The ley line that ran through Henrietta, that Noah was killed on in an attempt to be a sacrifice that would wake it. Whelk didn't do it right, but Noah was still tied to the ley line, still 'blessed' by it after a fashion. While his remains were on it, it gave him power to go on existing in a way that passed as alive under the right circumstances. Disconnected from it he truly was reduced to the little ghostly things no matter how hard he tried.]
- Because they called the cops. So.
[Had to take said remains in, ID them, find out that the boy who was probably thought to be a runaway had in fact gone no where at all.]
Um, Adam - I think he was asking if they could fix it. Fix me. Bring me back to how I was before when I could manifest a body and pass as mostly alive. And I knocked the plant off Gansey's desk.

Your friends care deeply for you.
[ She knows from his words, the fondness in his voice. They are good to him. ]

[He hears it in her thoughts, the passing word of it. Ley line.
He hadn't said anything about the ley line. Not aloud. Noah's not super great at following direction, but he tries to keep the knowledge about the ley line on the down low due to Gansey's orders of almost a year ago now.
Noah has - has never really been on the other side of this, to be honest. He still finds himself going quiet, but thinking as clearly as he can (and feeling very stupid while he's at it) 'Can you hear me?']
no subject
Yes.
[ then, amused, ]
Have you been reading me all this time?
no subject
It isn't like he can lie when they've got at least part of the same ability, and Noah replies aloud while he rubs at the back of his head with a wry smile.]
I wouldn't really call it 'reading'... more like... I mean, if a radio's on in a room, you kinda end up listening even if you aren't trying to, you know?
no subject
[ This is strange, but wonderful — that's the light feeling. ]
I am the same. I try not to — [ she shrugs and trails off ]
no subject
[Even when called out directly. There's the brief memory of Adam in his car, Noah in the back seat, Noah responding to something Adam thought and when asked if he just read Adam's mind, replying 'You probably spoke aloud.']
... It came with the being dead for me, though. I couldn't do this when I was alive. Ghost thing.
no subject
I will keep your secret, Noah.
no subject
He can't remember his sisters. Their faces. Their names. He remembers they exist, vague shapes of preteen girls, the age they were when he last knew them.]
Thanks. You need me to keep quiet on yours too?
no subject
No. Thank you.
no subject
He still doesn't want to just go away though. He's never met someone who has the same wavelength as him, so to speak.]
I'll see you around?
[He doesn't even try to hide the hopefulness there.]
no subject
Yes.
[ It's kinship, and she's been starved of that lately. ]
no subject
Cool.
[Well, he should go before he does something stupid. Like back into an endcap and almost trip over his own two feet.
Which of course he does after grabbing his bag. He pauses, rights himself, gives her a brief nod as he goes a bit red at his own fumble then makes his exit before he can make it worse.
He's still really happy though.]
