Intro Log: Arm Yourself

Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for August
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: August 10th-15th
Warnings: Stalkers, newbies, and cute loot!

Sleeping on the cold dirt ground of the colosseum is enough to make anyone uncomfortable. It might be a little worse this month than others, as some of you may be waking up on top of or around various self defense devices (btw: that last one is a taser).

Come to think of it, you'll probably need those. Also in the colosseum and already stalking you are... uh, well, stalkers from the Borderlands game series. Stalkers come armed with claws, teeth, and sharp tails- and what's more, they can turn invisible to sneak up on you. Zap them with your newfound taser or stab them with your jewelry comb knife or just run away screaming- we won't judge, but you have to do something or else they'll kill you and eat your corpse and all sorts of unfortunate things.

Good luck finding a way out. Maybe you can make some friends along the way.

All done and escaped from the clutches of the colosseum? Awesome! Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

It's true. He hasn't exactly been social in...some time. Years, at this point; his focus has been River, ever since he figured out what was happening, what she was trying to tell him. But it says something that Dr. Banner tries, even in the midst of this less-than-ideal situation.

"I suppose I'll have to. Doesn't seem like this place gives people much choice." A moment of seriousness, as he considers the monsters he nearly succumbed to, and then an attempt at lighthearted humor (or at least mild irony):

"Really? I can't see why it'd be difficult, this place practically inspires civic pride. It's a wonder that's not a god, too."

"You're getting the hang of it."

He says, now smiling just a little more widely. And, more seriously;

"You will be fine. I need to get home and get some sleep- the days after the new arrivals are always long, but you know how to get in touch with me if you need anything, at all."

[hippocratical]

"Oh. Absolutely. Thank you for the tour, Dr.--Bruce, I mean. I really appreciate it. I'll get settled here, and I'll check in if anything comes up. I'm sure I'll see you again soon."

He can't help but feel pleased. It's nice to be in a medical facility again, even one as rough as this one; they've clearly done a lot with not much at all, and he can respect that. And...well, it's nice to be needed, and nice to--perhaps--have made a friend.
