Sleeping on the cold dirt ground of the colosseum is enough to make anyone uncomfortable. It might be a little worse this month than others, as some of you may be waking up on top of or around various self defense devices (btw: that last one is a taser).
Come to think of it, you'll probably need those. Also in the colosseum and already stalking you are... uh, well, stalkers from the Borderlands game series. Stalkers come armed with claws, teeth, and sharp tails- and what's more, they can turn invisible to sneak up on you. Zap them with your newfound taser or stab them with your jewelry comb knife or just run away screaming- we won't judge, but you have to do something or else they'll kill you and eat your corpse and all sorts of unfortunate things.
Good luck finding a way out. Maybe you can make some friends along the way.
All done and escaped from the clutches of the colosseum? Awesome! Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers August 10th-15th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

If it's one thing Rey has learned, it's that it could always be worse. She could be back in her old situation in her own time.
"More terrible for most, but not so much for others. Some people are dead in their worlds, so really it's either this place or the grave." And that's assuming that they even have one.

He settles for a wry smile and a simple, "A small blessing for those individuals, then. Just how many worlds are represented, I wonder? Is everyone here from a completely separate one?"

It's hard to tell from her tone and delivery alone, but in actuality this comes as a relief. Part of Hadriel's appeal is the fact that she doesn't have the reputation that she does in her own world; no one knows or has heard of her and the things she has done. Not that it isn't unwarranted, or that she deserves a reprieve from all of that. Just, admittedly, it is rather nice.

"Oh? If you don't mind my asking, where did you call home before you were brought here?" The military feeling is pretty strong, and now that he's had a good look at her, it's amusing that the one cross-shaped scar on her cheek looks awfully like the one he used to have. Vietnam was such a long time ago, but it's fun to think back on once in a while. Good times. Maybe there's a good war story or two here too.
Come to think of it, he should have asked EDI the same question. Sato has the distinct feeling he would have really enjoyed the answer. Maybe another day.

"Never really had a 'home'," she mutters. "Though, if you must know, came from Earth in the year 2153."
Judging by appearances alone, it's difficult to say what time this guy comes from, but Rey has encountered many from various worlds and points in history, including what she can presume are alternate Earths. Still, she can hazard a guess when it comes to speech patterns, mannerisms, and attire.

But chitchat on an individual basis can only go for so long, especially when he does in fact have a goal in mind for today. He stretches, pulling away from the railing, and it's then that it's quite obvious he has a pistol stuck into the waistband of his pants.
"I suppose I should be going, and let you get back to your own business. Would you be able to point me in the direction of the armory? I saw it mentioned on the network, but the exact location is a bit vague."

To answer his statement, however: "There's no such thing as a 'simpler time'. Things were just as shitty in the Twenty-first Century as they are now."
Spoken like someone who has lived some of that firsthand, despite it being such a significantly long time ago for someone who looks like her. It's hard to forget how messed up things were, even back then, even with the false memories of women who had lived those days.
"The armory is across the river, just passed the Guard headquarters." She points in the direction where she was headed in order to tend to the generator, as well as the dam farther down. Working in the city as she does, it didn't take long for Rey to get street smart about where things were. She has the memories of a certain former street rat and marine to thank for those skills.

"Rey. Never 'Miss'. Just sounds weird."
After a couple seconds studying his expression, she reminds herself of the social norms that is the common handshake; her grip is firm.

And with a little farewell nod in her direction, he heads off in the direction she'd indicated at a leisurely pace. Although it had only been a little conversational poking and prodding, he had the distinct feeling that she was the kind of person who could be a potential problem in the future.
But he'd cross that bridge when he came to it.
