Who: Everyone participating in the event!
What: The event log for the Loud Valley event!
Where: All around the city
When: August 23rd-August 30th
Warnings: Cute animals, lots of candy, and swanky beats to cheer up with

In the early morning of August 23rd, a siren will sound. No need to worry, this isn't your usual siren- instead of the ear-piercing sounds of the Silent Hill event (thanks, Sharon), the music that plays over the city is a short, happy tune.

Is that a rainbow above the buildings? Why is everything so lush with grass? You wanted water and now candy has popped out of the faucet instead- that's bound to get annoying after awhile. Welcome to the Loud Valley event, which plays nice, happy music, showers you all in flowers, stuffed animals, cake, and smiling emojis, and gives you your very own ~~monster~~ er, companion to play with!

Each character will be getting a companion for the duration of the event, something which, like in Silent Hill, is a reflection of them- but rather than reflecting their fears and flaws, this companion reflects their positive qualities and happiness. The animals will appear to characters when the sirens sound and will be more than happy to just chill out with them, whether by getting some nice pets and cuddles, following them around, or meowing/roaring/barking/hissing/etc at them for some much-needed attention.

[Sans gestures vaguely at the silky-furred gray cat that's currently adopted an indecently boneless sprawl beside the jar of lollipops.]

Looks like we get a little friend for a few days.

['Course, his is about as lazy as he is, which makes it very low maintenance. He's absolutely fine with that, unsurprisingly.]

Awfully cute, for a mini-you.

[He fishes another lollipop from the jar and waves it vaguely in Shadow's direction.]

Want one?

[Sans has never before seen someone accept a lollipop so aggressively. But then, this guy's got a chip on his shoulder the size of the CORE, it seems, so paranoia seems to be part of the general package.]

No catch. Not like we really got currency here anyway.

It's good food, though. Good...heh, good "chao".

[Yipe. One might assume he's never had a lollipop before, the way he's going to down on it. Sans arches one supraorbital ridge speculatively, distantly amused.

Then he winces subtly.]

You're generally supposed to suck on 'em.

[Sans shakes his skull in amusement before he passes over another one. No charge. The mileage he's getting out of this gag is worth the price of admission.]

Never had a lollipop before?

Wouldn't've pegged you for havin' a sweet tooth.

[Looks like this event is right up his proverbial alley, then. Standoffish as Shadow might be, this is pretty entertaining to watch.]

I can, and I do.

[He brushes a bit of recently-shedded fur off the surface of his stand idly.]

Think I've told you, but the name's Sans.

Technically skeletons can go months without eating. But why would I give somethin' like that up?

[How does sand work indeed. Sometimes not even he knows, he thinks. It's all part of the mystery of the thing.]

'Cause laziness is a full-time job, and I don't do it by a half-measure.

[That's a cheap answer and it's not even a wholly honest one, but that's just how he rolls. The more he can maintain the sleepy, lazy, harmless persona he works so hard to keep up, the more it pays off in the long run.]

[Sans has never made sense, and he consistently refuses to make sense purely on principle. Besides, making sense sounds like a lot of work.

So instead Sans winks.]

Not when you've got roommates who stock the fridge for ya.

Aw, thanks. Means a lot.

[He'll take that as a compliment, thank you very much. Mostly because he can agree, completely and utterly, that one of the few things he is with any consistency is impossible.

The cat flicks its ears but otherwise doesn't stir at the disturbance. Sans indicates the Chao with an inclination of his skull.]

Cute little guy, ain't he?

[Sans glances between the Chao and his owner for a few minutes. Looks at Shadow. Looks at the Chao. Back at Shadow.

His grin, impossibly, widens.]

Did you just - you just made a joke.

[He's so proud.]
