The morning of November the 15th seems rather normal- that is, if you can avoid the glowing cracks in the fabric of reality tucked away among various streets. Still, they don't really seem to be doing much of anything and you can't quite see through them, so maybe they're decoration? This wouldn't be the first time the gods pulled some weird shit to shake things up around here.
By midafternoon, however, something changes. Cecily, in all her wisdom, decides to attempt to dispel one of these rifts, and the resulting shockwave sends tremors through the city. Tears throughout Hadriel open wider and allow for various demons to burst through and terrorize the various citizens. Demons will be tearing through in all corners of the city, though you can choose to avoid them if you like.
Look out for Pride and Rage demons, who attempt to brute force their way to you and feed off of your anger, steel yourselves against Despair and Fear demons who grow stronger as you give up hope, and definitely cross the street to avoid the Desire demons, who can take either male or female forms and will offer you everything you want if you just let them in.
Demons will either focus on attacking you or tempting you by taking advantage of and feeding off of your basic emotions. Agreeing to let a demon help you and mentally folding to it generally means that the demon will begin to possess you and start calling the shots- often using you as a vessel to hurt others and sow discord. If you happen to have any sort of magical abilities, extended possession can lead toward becoming an abomination after the corruption takes root.
So... you might want to avoid all of that. Luckily, there are some good things happening that can distract you- along with the demons, several nugs and fennec foxes will also pop up around the city, and if you don't want them to die a horrible death to a hungry demon, you might consider adopting them. In addition, you may find a random potion laying around- maybe this can help you fight off those demons, or maybe it'll make every nug in the city love you- or maybe it's secretly a jar of bees. Wouldn't be the first time you guys let bees in jars get a little out of hand.► This log covers November 15th-November 25th.

He'll kill you. You can't stop him. Even I couldn't stop him.
[God, if Will died... Jill wouldn't be able to take that. Not if he died protecting her. Every time she exhaled, her body trembled from the force of it.]
no subject
He won't kill me, Jill. He won't kill you either, I'll see to that personally.
[ He didn't want to, but he had to ask. ]
Who is he? And where is he?
no subject
Wesker. He comes from my world. I don't know how, but I was in my apartment, and when I looked up, he was standing there. I should've killed the bastard. Why didn't I? I just... ran. I didn't... why did I...
[It's just not like her. Jill knows that, given the chance, she would end him. And yet, she ran way. Was he even there at all?]
no subject
Making sure he kept himself as available as he could, letting her lean in when she needed and offering comfort and protection with his arms around her. ]
He might not have been there, Jill. There's a lot of odd stuff happening at the moment. Maybe fighting him would have worked out for the worse. I'm not sure what's going on, but I believe you did the right thing.
[ Trying to reassure her, Will smiled a little as he sighed. ]
I don't think you should go back there... Whatever it is might still be there. I couldn't live with myself if anything happened to you.
no subject
[But he says it like there's no question. Like he believes in her. As for the last part, Jill is touched by his words. Would it hurt him so much if something happened to her? He was sweet.]
I guess I could find an empty apartment somewhere in one of these buildings.
[It wouldn't be comfortable, exactly, but she's camped in worse conditions.]
no subject
[ Oh Will would be devastated if something happened to Jill, especially after the times she's helped him, the un-judging tone in her voice, the strength of her convictions. Yea, Will would hate to see anything bad happen to her, besides! She was the closest thing to a friend he had here and that was an achievement! ]
Well, sure, yea... You could do that. I'd have to insist on staying with you, though... Wouldn't feel right to just up and leave you like that...
[ He's awkward and antisocial, yet Jill needs his help, sacrifices must be made. ]
Or... We can go back to my apartment. I live alone so there are spare rooms and besides some really strong hero type live a few floors above and below, we'd have back up if this Wesker decided to show his face.
[ A beat as he set a hand on her hand giving a little squeeze. ]
I'm not going to let you go through this alone, Jill... You'd do the same for me, I'm sure of it.
no subject
Of course I would.
[If he were threatened, she would come running to help him. She'd do anything in her power to keep him safe. Since he has a spare room, she won't feel like she's putting him out, so it does sound like a good idea.]
Okay, I'll stay with you. Thank you, Will.
no subject
Nodding, giving her hand a little squeeze before letting it go. ]
It's nothing, really. You'd be doing me a favor anyway...
[ It gets pretty lonely in his big, empty apartment, not that he'd admit that of course.]
We can sit here a little longer if you need to get your bearings? I don't mind, honestly. But, I'd rather get you indoors, away from cold and exposure.
no subject
She doesn't know how taking up space would be doing him a favor, but she doesn't question or argue it.]
We can go.
[Already, she feels better thanks to him, so she starts to get to her feet.]
no subject
Leaning out from the ally way, checking to make sure there was nothing around that might startle Jill or any men that could possibly be this Wesker she was talking about. Once the coast was clear, Will stepped out, gesturing for Jill to follow. ]
It's not too far. I even have some coffee I was saving for a night like this.
[ He joked, helping Jill along the way. ]
We can go and check out your room in the morning, take some weapons and other people if you want?
no subject
[Jill knows this behavior isn't typical for her. She doesn't want to be afraid, but she can't even help it. Whatever was there triggered something deep within her that she couldn't fight.]
I don't want the whole city guard thinking I'm not fit.
no subject
[ Yea, Will can tell it's not like her at all. It makes him a little sad in fact, to know there is something out there, that is capable of making a woman like Jill crumble and bow with fear. It's a horrible thought and Jill's emotions are piercing through his chest as his empathy hones in on it like a missile.
At the mention of the City guard finding out and thinking less of her, Will frowned. ]
You're not unfit to protect this City, Jill... You're one of the most proficient workers I've ever met. I'm sure they'd understand yet I don't think they need to know about it either. This is clearly personal, they're work. Let's keep the two apart huh?
[ Dipping his head to catch her eyes, something he's normally so uncomfortable with. Yet Will needed to make sure she was okay, he needed Jill to be Jill. ]
Alright, we're nearly there, how are you doing? You still okay? Don't need to rest or anything? You warm enough?
no subject
That's really nice of you to say. I'm glad you think so.
[His opinion matters to her. At the series of questions, Jill laughs a bit. His fussing makes him sound like a mother hen.]
I'll make it. We can keep going.
[She thinks she'll feel better once they get inside.]
no subject
It's all true, I'm actually pretty envious of your skills if truth be told.
[ A smile then, as he looked at her, the warmth and kindness in his eyes reflected in his smile. Then he faced forward, pointing to where they were going and how it was only just around the corner. Will was unsettled, though, that something had shaken Jill this badly. He wouldn't say anything to her, but he'd stay up all night tonight, outside her door, just to keep guard. ]
You're okay with dogs, right? Winston will probably want to smell you.
no subject
From what you've told me, you have some pretty incredible skills of your own.
[What with being an expert profiler and all. As for his dog, Jill smiles.]
Sure. I like dogs.
no subject
Will smiles. The compliment about his own skill is a double-edged blade. On the one hand, he's happy for the recognition but on the other hand, he see's it as more of a curse, something not to be celebrated. ]
Good because me and you were going to have problems if you said no.
[ He's teasing, there was no way he could see himself falling out with Jill.
As they came to the door or the spiral he dwelled in, Will held it open for her. ]
We're on the 4th floor, 601, I'm right behind you.
[ He was just making sure there was no one behind them, already in protective mode. ]
no subject
And Will might enjoy the view walking behind Jill Valentine. Ahem!]
You know, I really appreciate this. It's good to know there's someone here I can count on.
no subject
It's that one there. I left it open and Winston doesn't bark so go right on in.
[ It was nice having Jill around, she made Will feel useful and a bit less crazy. He also felt he owed it to her to be around whenever she needed someone, after all, she'd come to his rescue on far too many occasions now.
He wont lie, it's not his thing, but yes, coming up the stairs behind Jill had it's advantages. Who wouldn't look!? She was a woman who knew how to look after her body and boy did it show.
After admiring her for a moment, Will walked up behind her, checking the end of each hall, just in case this Wesker chap was around. Once the coast was clear, Will came in behind her and locked the door. Winston was already sniffing around Jill's feet, tail wagging in acceptance. ]
Winston this is Jill, now be nice or she'll kick your ass, okay?
[ Kneeling down and giving the dog a loving pet on it's back as Will's ear and cheek were lapped at happily. ]
Make yourself at home. I er... I'm not used to guests and I don't have much to offer other than some coffee and chocolate I found? Oh and, my room is the one on the left there, you can sleep in there tonight, I'll take the spare.
no subject
Once inside, she smiles as the dog approaches her and crouches down to greet him, letting him sniff her a bit before attempting some friendly petting. When Will comes in and makes that remark, Jill laughs.]
I would never. He's too cute.
[And such a good dog! She smiles again when the dog shows such affection to Will in greeting. Will didn't have to invite her here, so she's not about to turn her nose up at his hospitality.]
Thank you. [For the offer and for the room.] Coffee sounds great. Do you mind if I use your shower?
[Sitting in an alley for who knows how long wasn't the best way to keep clean, and she doesn't want to get his sheets dirty.]
no subject
[ Passing a playful comment as he continued to pet Winston a moment longer. Standing up, Will opened the bedroom door and made his way over to his chest of drawers. Pulling a clean grey T-shirt out and a pair of shorts. He handed them to Jill as he Lent over the bed and pulled a fresh towel off his drying rack. ]
Here, it's all clean, just thought you might want something other than your clothes to sleep in. Bathroom is that door there... Oh! The showers a bit temperamental, let me just give it a jiggle to get it going.
[ Slipping past her, Will reached up and turned the shower on. Just as predicted it was only trickling but after a few well placed jiggles, Will was graced with a splash of water right in his face and chest. ]
Gack! ... Well... At least we know it's working fine again! Heh...
[ Slightly embarrassed but not put off, Will smiled at her, Winston jumping up at him to lap at the water that dripped from his face. ]
I'll let, go make a start on that coffee.
[ Turning to walk away, pulling his soaking shirt off and drying his face with it as he walked towards the kitchen area. ]
no subject
When Will went to the other room, Jill got up and followed him, watching as he gathered some clean clothes for her. It was thoughtful of him, and she's glad she doesn't have to ask. It feels like he's helped her out so much already. More than she was used to.]
Thanks.
[She lets him take charge of things, since it's his place and all. He knows it best. When he's splashed with water trying to get the shower working, she gasps, but no harm done. There's an amused look on her face when Winston tries to help out, and before he goes to make the coffee, she uses the towel in her hand to brush at the side of his face, his neck, helping to dry him off a bit.]
Sure, thanks again.
[Can she thank him enough tonight? When he departs, she turns to look as he removes his shirt and goes to the kitchen. A blush creeps in, but hey, he's plenty nice to look at. Smiling to herself, she goes into the bathroom to close the door, undress, and make good use of that shower. She won't be too long, since she wouldn't want to steal all of his hot water.]
no subject
No need to thank me. You'd do the same for me... Err, though I don't think I could pull off your attire quite as well.
[ After he'd been graced with a surprise wash, Will felt a little bashful in letting Jill mop the side of his face and neck with her towel. It was human contact after all, something he normally edges away from with skill. Yet, somehow for some reason, he didn't mind it all that much when it was Jill doing the touching. Huh, strange that...
As he was thanked yet again, Will smiled and shook his head. He got the feeling she would continue to thank him if he kept doing things for her, she was polite after all, which was adorable.
Leaving Jill to shower, Will started to make their coffee. Winston was at his feet looking up at him. ]
What? She's a friend, she's worked really hard to make sure we're okay, Winston, so you're just going to have to deal with her taking our bed tonight, okay? Don't give me that look.
[ The kettle boiled and Will poured their drinks, going through the kitchen draws to find the bars of chocolate and granola he'd managed to find in the stores in town. Walking to the living space, Will set everything down then paced back and forth in front of the bathroom door.
He was suppose to be on guard, so he though it best to keep checking everything was normal. Winston tilted his head as he watched Will's odd behaviour, until they heard the water of the shower stop and Will bolted back into the living room, so it didn't look like he was waiting for her or trying to spy. ]
no subject
Jill leaves the bathroom, glad to be free of all the grime of the outside.]
Hey. [There's a smile when she sees him.] I'm feeling a lot better now. That coffee? Smells great.
no subject
Huh, coffee? ...Oh! Yes, here.
[ Blushing a little and looking fairly embarrassed with himself, Will turned, picked up a mug and handed it to her. ]
I didn't know if you have sugar or cream... And I don't have any of either so I really hope you like it black... Chocolate?
[ Gesturing to the table as he walked around it and took a seat on his small couch. There was plenty space for Jill so he didn't feel the need to direct her, she could sit where she liked.
Picking his own drink up, blowing on it and sipping slowly, Will watched her all the while. ]
I'm glad you're feeling better... You had me worried- And the clothes suit you er I mean.. Look natural on you... Wow okay, does that mean I have a very effeminate taste or is the whole military thing you have going on?
[ Shut up Will, you're rambling. But there is something nice about seeing a woman like Jill in his baggy t-shirt and shorts. ]
no subject
When he turned to get the coffee, her smile became a bit more shy and she looked down, pushing some of her hair back behind her ear.]
Black is fine.
[She's been to a lot of different places, and some didn't have the luxury of cream or sugar. At the remark on the clothes, she looks down and laughs softly.]
I appreciate you letting me borrow them.
[Jill walks over to the couch, and of the options, she chooses to sit on the couch next to Will. Once there, she reaches for a piece of chocolate, which helps cut the bitterness of the coffee.]
How long have you had Winston? Where did you get him?
