What: The event log for the Fadeout event!

Warnings: None!
The morning of November the 15th seems rather normal- that is, if you can avoid the glowing cracks in the fabric of reality tucked away among various streets. Still, they don't really seem to be doing much of anything and you can't quite see through them, so maybe they're decoration? This wouldn't be the first time the gods pulled some weird shit to shake things up around here.
By midafternoon, however, something changes. Cecily, in all her wisdom, decides to attempt to dispel one of these rifts, and the resulting shockwave sends tremors through the city. Tears throughout Hadriel open wider and allow for various demons to burst through and terrorize the various citizens. Demons will be tearing through in all corners of the city, though you can choose to avoid them if you like.
Look out for Pride and Rage demons, who attempt to brute force their way to you and feed off of your anger, steel yourselves against Despair and Fear demons who grow stronger as you give up hope, and definitely cross the street to avoid the Desire demons, who can take either male or female forms and will offer you everything you want if you just let them in.
Demons will either focus on attacking you or tempting you by taking advantage of and feeding off of your basic emotions. Agreeing to let a demon help you and mentally folding to it generally means that the demon will begin to possess you and start calling the shots- often using you as a vessel to hurt others and sow discord. If you happen to have any sort of magical abilities, extended possession can lead toward becoming an abomination after the corruption takes root.
So... you might want to avoid all of that. Luckily, there are some good things happening that can distract you- along with the demons, several nugs and fennec foxes will also pop up around the city, and if you don't want them to die a horrible death to a hungry demon, you might consider adopting them. In addition, you may find a random potion laying around- maybe this can help you fight off those demons, or maybe it'll make every nug in the city love you- or maybe it's secretly a jar of bees. Wouldn't be the first time you guys let bees in jars get a little out of hand.► This log covers November 15th-November 25th.

Once inside, she smiles as the dog approaches her and crouches down to greet him, letting him sniff her a bit before attempting some friendly petting. When Will comes in and makes that remark, Jill laughs.]
I would never. He's too cute.
[And such a good dog! She smiles again when the dog shows such affection to Will in greeting. Will didn't have to invite her here, so she's not about to turn her nose up at his hospitality.]
Thank you. [For the offer and for the room.] Coffee sounds great. Do you mind if I use your shower?
[Sitting in an alley for who knows how long wasn't the best way to keep clean, and she doesn't want to get his sheets dirty.]

[ Passing a playful comment as he continued to pet Winston a moment longer. Standing up, Will opened the bedroom door and made his way over to his chest of drawers. Pulling a clean grey T-shirt out and a pair of shorts. He handed them to Jill as he Lent over the bed and pulled a fresh towel off his drying rack. ]
Here, it's all clean, just thought you might want something other than your clothes to sleep in. Bathroom is that door there... Oh! The showers a bit temperamental, let me just give it a jiggle to get it going.
[ Slipping past her, Will reached up and turned the shower on. Just as predicted it was only trickling but after a few well placed jiggles, Will was graced with a splash of water right in his face and chest. ]
Gack! ... Well... At least we know it's working fine again! Heh...
[ Slightly embarrassed but not put off, Will smiled at her, Winston jumping up at him to lap at the water that dripped from his face. ]
I'll let, go make a start on that coffee.
[ Turning to walk away, pulling his soaking shirt off and drying his face with it as he walked towards the kitchen area. ]

When Will went to the other room, Jill got up and followed him, watching as he gathered some clean clothes for her. It was thoughtful of him, and she's glad she doesn't have to ask. It feels like he's helped her out so much already. More than she was used to.]
Thanks.
[She lets him take charge of things, since it's his place and all. He knows it best. When he's splashed with water trying to get the shower working, she gasps, but no harm done. There's an amused look on her face when Winston tries to help out, and before he goes to make the coffee, she uses the towel in her hand to brush at the side of his face, his neck, helping to dry him off a bit.]
Sure, thanks again.
[Can she thank him enough tonight? When he departs, she turns to look as he removes his shirt and goes to the kitchen. A blush creeps in, but hey, he's plenty nice to look at. Smiling to herself, she goes into the bathroom to close the door, undress, and make good use of that shower. She won't be too long, since she wouldn't want to steal all of his hot water.]
no subject
No need to thank me. You'd do the same for me... Err, though I don't think I could pull off your attire quite as well.
[ After he'd been graced with a surprise wash, Will felt a little bashful in letting Jill mop the side of his face and neck with her towel. It was human contact after all, something he normally edges away from with skill. Yet, somehow for some reason, he didn't mind it all that much when it was Jill doing the touching. Huh, strange that...
As he was thanked yet again, Will smiled and shook his head. He got the feeling she would continue to thank him if he kept doing things for her, she was polite after all, which was adorable.
Leaving Jill to shower, Will started to make their coffee. Winston was at his feet looking up at him. ]
What? She's a friend, she's worked really hard to make sure we're okay, Winston, so you're just going to have to deal with her taking our bed tonight, okay? Don't give me that look.
[ The kettle boiled and Will poured their drinks, going through the kitchen draws to find the bars of chocolate and granola he'd managed to find in the stores in town. Walking to the living space, Will set everything down then paced back and forth in front of the bathroom door.
He was suppose to be on guard, so he though it best to keep checking everything was normal. Winston tilted his head as he watched Will's odd behaviour, until they heard the water of the shower stop and Will bolted back into the living room, so it didn't look like he was waiting for her or trying to spy. ]

Jill leaves the bathroom, glad to be free of all the grime of the outside.]
Hey. [There's a smile when she sees him.] I'm feeling a lot better now. That coffee? Smells great.
no subject
Huh, coffee? ...Oh! Yes, here.
[ Blushing a little and looking fairly embarrassed with himself, Will turned, picked up a mug and handed it to her. ]
I didn't know if you have sugar or cream... And I don't have any of either so I really hope you like it black... Chocolate?
[ Gesturing to the table as he walked around it and took a seat on his small couch. There was plenty space for Jill so he didn't feel the need to direct her, she could sit where she liked.
Picking his own drink up, blowing on it and sipping slowly, Will watched her all the while. ]
I'm glad you're feeling better... You had me worried- And the clothes suit you er I mean.. Look natural on you... Wow okay, does that mean I have a very effeminate taste or is the whole military thing you have going on?
[ Shut up Will, you're rambling. But there is something nice about seeing a woman like Jill in his baggy t-shirt and shorts. ]
no subject
When he turned to get the coffee, her smile became a bit more shy and she looked down, pushing some of her hair back behind her ear.]
Black is fine.
[She's been to a lot of different places, and some didn't have the luxury of cream or sugar. At the remark on the clothes, she looks down and laughs softly.]
I appreciate you letting me borrow them.
[Jill walks over to the couch, and of the options, she chooses to sit on the couch next to Will. Once there, she reaches for a piece of chocolate, which helps cut the bitterness of the coffee.]
How long have you had Winston? Where did you get him?
no subject
He could sense she was comfortable around him and that was in itself, such a wonderful feeling. Will couldn't help the way he looked at her, he only hoped it wasn't so obvious.
Catching a glance from the side as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, was she feeling coy perhaps? Had Will said something stupid? Whatever had caused the small motion, Will would ponder over later, right now he was supposed to be her guardian. ]
You're more than welcome, I even think they suit you better than me.
[ He was about to start rambling on about how she was in better shape than he was and how the clothing showed off her athletic aesthetic, as inappropriate as that may be, however as Jill decided to make herself at home beside him, he kind of froze up.
She smelt fresh and clean, damp and warm, that sweet natural scent of her hair. It was her questions about Winston that snapped him from his little world. Clearing his throat and reaching over to pet Winston. ]
I've only had Winston for about 5 month. I found him- er well, stole? No, rescued him from the road side. Someone had just dumped him there like an old winter sweater or a dirty, broken toy... It took a while for him to trust me and come to me on his own accord. I bathed him, fed him and then introduced him to my merry pack of misfits and strays.
[ The love that Will had for his dogs, was clear and aparent from the way he spoke about them. There was passion and tenderness in his tone, even his eyes as he stroked the animal.
Will was indeed a kind, caring man. He just needed to come out from behind his walls, let the right people in and realize it was okay to be loved and looked after himself. ]
If you feel someone getting into bed with you tonight, don't panic. I'll come shoo him off for you. He's used to claiming my bed and I wouldn't blame him for trying to get in next to you.
[ Mm... Maybe phrased that wrong there, Will? You're not being clear on what you mean. You're leaving things up to interpretation. What must she think!? ]
no subject
That's terrible. Poor Winston.
[As if he knew Jill felt sympathy for him, Winston went from Will to her next to soak it up. The dog put his head on her lap and she gladly rubbed his ears. Lucky dog.
Though the phrasing might not have been perfect, Jill understood what he meant. Who else would Will shoo off of her bed?]
Is Winston the only one I have to worry about?
[When she said that, she tilted her head to look at him. Yes, the look was definitely coy this time. Flirtatious. And she wondered how he'd react to a statement like that, though she figured he might turn shy again.]
no subject
As Winston moved over to Jill and placed his head down on her lap, Will smiled. Thinking that perhaps if he set his own head down on her lap, would he be gifted the same treatment? The thought made him laugh a little. ]
I found some of my other dogs in pretty much the same way. Some were abandoned, tied up tp posts and poles with no food or water.
[ He left out the part where most of these dogs were tied up in gardens or out in streets outside of stores. What!? If you leave an animal for over a certain time, it's just cruel. Will was doing them a favor.
When Jill asked if Winston was the only one she had to worry about, Will's first reaction was to start explaining that he didn't have any of his other dogs here in Hadriel- Then he caught her expression, the look in her eyes and realized what she was implying.
He couldn't stop the flush that peppered his cheeks, or the way his chest moved a little faster with each breath. Is she flirting with me? He thought to himself. Why? Why would a woman like her, be interested in a monster like me? Maybe it's a - No, just stop thinking about it, you always ruin things by overanalyzing them! Crap, he'd hesitated too long. She'd think she's said something wrong.
Before he responded, Will looked down at her feet, awkward and unsure. ]
I've managed to compose myself around you thus far... I'm sure one more night couldn't hurt...
[ He didn't want to sound like he was shutting her down, but he didn't want her to know he'd been thinking about her since the day the first met either. It would probably creep her out. So, he smiled, flashing her a look in the eyes, though his fix on them was broken with the odd glance to the left or right here and there. ]
Though I should warn you, as well as you already know... I do have a tendency for sleep walking... If I ended up in your room...
[ And that's where he stopped talking. The awkwardness was sinking in, affecting his nerves and making him feel foolish. ]
no subject
Have you had a hard time composing yourself around me?
[He says the oddest things, but little things he says tends to say a lot. When she asks him that question, it's with the same gentle, teasing tone of voice. Every time he managed to look her in the eyes, it made her insides flutter. She felt more confident about saying these types of things to him.]
Yeah, I remember the sleepwalking. [Ending up in her room would be a hell of a lot better than Silent Hill.] If you were asleep, though, that'd be a shame.
[They couldn't have a conversation let alone anything else if he were in that state. When he freezes up, Jill laughs softly and ruffles Winston's fur.]
I'm sorry, Will. Did I make you feel uncomfortable?
[It's difficult to know when she's crossed the line with him or if she has. He's not easy to read.]
no subject
Hah. Oh, you are a very imposing woman, Jill Valentine. I find you monopolize my every attention when you grace the room and assiduity so at that.
[ Taking off his glasses and setting them on the table. Normally Will would do this when he was about to see something, to find out one's motive or design. Turning to look her straight in the eyes, holding the contact uncharacteristically with ease for a moment. ]
If I were asleep or awake I'd still assume it was a dream... How could I not?
[ His voice was a bit more hushed this time, a darkness in the tone and a tad gravel about it too. each word was spoken slowly and with thought out care, sure, Will spoke his mind, but he did so with meticulous accuracy.
Had Will found his way into her room in the night, he would have done so after strict and thorough analyzing of the situation and consequences. He wouldn't change his mind and he'd see through he made his intentions known. Will wasn't very lucky in love, so he'd found it better to put all his cards on the table and let his heart do the leading. If it means he gets it broken, that's okay too, he was more than used to it by now. ]
Oh, I feel uncomfortable all of the time... The difference is that you make it feel warm, you contradict the very feeling itself and that just allures me all the more...
[ He looks away then, considering turning in for the night and letting Jill think about their little exchange. He could flirt, he'd actually like to flirt with Jill, but he was too anxious to throw caution to the wind right now. What if she was just board and teasing? He'd feel a fool. What he really wants to ask her is; Tell me, Jill... Just what is your design? Why do you keep me around? He just couldn't bring himself to know, in case it was an answer he didn't want to hear.
Alas, the problem of the overthinker. ]
no subject
At his question about the dream, there's a soft laugh in her voice when she speaks.]
I bet you say that to all the girls.
[She knows he doesn't. The idea that she contradicts those uncomfortable feelings is taken as a compliment. She feels very at ease around him, whether it makes sense or not. Very comfortable. But it is getting late, and perhaps she's pushed at his comfort levels a little too much. It's so hard to know.]
Guess I should go to bed.
[Jill looks down at the dog and smiles fondly. She leans down and presses a kiss right on top of the dog's head.]
Goodnight, Winston. [Then she looks over at Will.] Goodnight, Will.
no subject
He knows she's joking with her 'all the girls' comment, so he tosses her a really? kind of expression before joining her in a soft, light laugh. ]
Yea... I've already made the bed up for you, there's a fresh bottle of water and a lamp on the bedside table if you need them. I'll just be across the hall, I'll leave my door open should you need anything.
[ It would be a lie if Will said he wasn't envious of Winston, what did he get a kiss for? He's not the one helping her and putting her up for the night! He's just fluffy and looks cute. Damn dog, if Will wasn't so attached to him...
Getting up and tapping his side to call Winston away, so that Jill can get up. They both walked her to the door to see her off. ]
Goodnight, Jill. I hope you get some rest. You're safe here with us, so don't worry about a thing okay.
[ He'd wait until her room falls silent of shuffling around and the lighs go out, then he'd take place against the foot of her door, with a cusion from the couch and a blanket. He'd stay like that all night, just to make sure no nothing happened to her. ]
