What: The intro log for January
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: January 10th-16th
Warnings: Luscious greenery and confused newbies
As has become tradition within the good (well, okay) city of Hadriel, new arrivals will awake on the floor of the half-destroyed colosseum. Confused and disoriented, you may be wondering where you are and what you're doing there. Don't worry! Someone will probably tell you sooner or later, as long as you get out of the colosseum alive.
Oh, right. About that. Along with the poor, innocent, vulnerable new arrivals are a number of other new friends! Well, maybe less 'friends' than 'horrifying monsters', but are you really going to be picky? Wandering the arena are Shambling Mounds. These creatures are large, unattractive piles of vaguely humanoid-shaped vegetation. They hit hard, they can take a lot of damage, and if you're really unlucky they might manage to engulf you with their weird plant bodies. If that happens, you'd better try to get free fast - otherwise they'll just walk off with you stuck inside and kill you later at their leisure.
The Door appears to have cast a wide net for 'plant monsters', and while Shambling Mounds are the only ones that can actually hurt you, it's managed to pull in a number of smaller, less dangerous carnivorous plants. Some of them are even kind of cute! So if you were looking for a pet venus flytrap or a new pitcher plant, you're in luck. Scattered around the colosseum are carnivorous potted plants, just waiting to find a new home.
Make a new plant friend, or get eaten by one, or run screaming! Whatever you choose to do, once you find your way out of the colosseum there's plenty of other distractions. Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers January 10th-16th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

Revival of more God seems to be the end goal. The ones that continue to exist thus far are Hope, Fear, Delight, Confusion, Rage, Tranquility and Sorrow. I do not know more than that.
[The god's exact end game was unknown to pretty much everyone in the cave, not to mention why they died in the first place. Or what would happen once they were all revived, of course.]

Those peculiar crimson eyes honestly worries him a tad. Is the youth using some sort of magic? Only whenever Regis is casting magic does his eyes glow in a similar fashion. No one in Eos is born with naturally red eyes and Regis assumes that would be the same for most humans.
That's why he stares at the child for a moment before rummaging through the kit. There's fresh bandages, gauze and antiseptic. This is a good enough for him to clean and dress the injury without much fuss but he needs to find a clinic or hospital. The blood loss is starting to put a terrible strain on him.]
Seven deities who all take their names from various states of being? They sound like a lofty bunch.
[The king questions as he starts unwrapping the soiled bandages. A slight hiss of agony escapes him but he quickly silences it by biting his tongue briefly.]

Instead Chara focuses on the king before them. Obviously he needed to go to the clinic by the end of this.]
They are interesting beings. They also physically appear to be human.
[Chara hasn't interacted with few of them for various reasons but for all the times the Gods have appeared on the network, each of them look like a human you could pass by on the street.]
There is a clinic here. I am able to take you, if you wish.
no subject
There's actually one such deity who done so but he's not aware of their presence.]
Why would Gods ever feel the need to don a human form? I suppose their reason is their own but I'm quite curious.
[That's a question best left for the Gods but he asks anyway.]
Ah, all done. Lead the way.
[Regis announces once he finishes changing out the blood soaked bandages with fresh ones. It takes the old king a moment to stand but eventually he gathers his strength and manage to do so. His steps will be a tad shaky at best but at least he's capable of walking.]

[Likely it was just Gods being Gods. Chara remembers reading a book on the Surface that spoke of Gods taking human shape as to not frighten mortals. That could be it or it could not. Either way, it probably didn't matter.
Chara rises when Regis does. He's pretty shaky still so they needed to move. Chara could defend themselves if a beast attacked but they're not so sure if he can. They'll start to walk, keeping an eye on the king.]
This way.
[And while they're at it...]
I do not believe I caught your name.

[He knows something of Gods and Regis has grown to dislike them immensely. While he understood the gravity of Noctis' plight, no father should be forced to groom their child for certain death. That was entirely too cruel and Regis still aches from the most grievous wound done upon him.]
Ah? [He glances down at the child with a faint smile.] Have we not shared pleasantries yet? My pardons.
[The old king laughs quietly allowing his bitterness towards the deities to wash off him like water. He's a much more likeable fellow when he isn't scowling.]
Regis.
[There's no need for titles, yes?]
no subject
Titles are not needed here. Chara never used the Dreemurr's last name and mentions of royalty did nothing. So they'll keep it as they usually do.]
I am Chara. It is nice to meet you Regis.
[It is an interesting name, but it's not like 'Chara' was any less strange.]
no subject
The pleasure is all mine, gentle Chara. You do me a great favor by leading me to safety. [Honestly, Regis probably would've fell prey to the fiends here if this child didn't volunteer to aid him.] Though, I must question as to why a child would venture anywhere alone in such depravity.
[The father in him is asking the hard questions.]
Are you without your loved ones, dear child?
no subject
[They're kidding, but it really probably wouldn't. At the very least it should set the tone Hadriel sometimes had. Things trying to kill someone, physically or emotionally. The best you can do however, is fight it as best as you can.
There's a pause at Regis's next question as they think before answering. It's a difficult question if one knows the context.]
No. However, I live with my Partner and my best friend.
[Who are both kids. It counts, Chara thinks, as family even if they don't say it out loud.]
no subject
Regis doesn't wish to die. He desperately wants to live.]
Ah, good. [He smiles once little Chara answers him.] It warms me to know you're not alone. I would hate for any child to be without a friend of some kind.
[Regis pauses in his steps once he notices just how odd of a city Hadriel truly is. His eyes are wide with such curiosity.]
no subject
They both from the Underground. So that makes things easier for me.
[Didn't have to set lines, they already knew. Chara follows Regis's gaze and smiles a little bit.]
This city is rather old, although I am not sure what brought it to this state. There are also temples here for the Gods, but mostly they are used for safe places during events.
