Event Log: Dead Ringers

What: The event log for the Dead Ringers event!
Where: All around the city
When: January 16th-January 25th
Warnings: Evil doubles, so we can assume manipulation, violence, murder, and maybe some nasty words
Everything seems normal on the morning of the 16th - actually, everything seems normal about the city for the entirety of this event. Nothing is strange, nothing is obviously wrong. Well, except that the population has mysteriously doubled, and the new residents each look exactly like one of the old residents. So weird! Definitely not ominous at all.
At least until your new double gets down to business. After all, their only goal is to ruin your life, and that can take any form. Smashing your favorite coffee cup? Telling your worst enemy they're right? Kissing someone else in front of your girlfriend? Brutally murdering you and then hiding your body in a closet so they can more effectively destroy your life? The possibilities are truly endless, and the only way to protect yourself is to kill your double first. They're not really open to negotiation, after all - but they sure might pretend to be in order to trick you.
So watch your back, and try to make sure that really is your best friend and not an evil clone masquerading as them. Boy, that would be awkward. If you can stick it out until January 25th, good for you! But if you didn't manage to and your double survives until the end - well, just as a final 'fuck you', there's a chance you'll come back to life and remember every awful thing your double did. Hey, at least that'll make it easier to fix, right?► This log covers January 16th-January 25th.
► Feel free to make your own logs, as well
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If your evil clone happens to take you out, please let us know here, and remember that you will not revive until the event is over.
I'm sorry Jill, he loves you really!!
Now that he had Jill here in front of him, he could see why she was so special to Will. Her face, her body, the kindness in her words and expression, the strength she had in her soul. Yes indeed, Jill was so very special. He was desperate to kill her, to honor every part of her body, let nothing go to waste. Yet still, he couldn't bring himself to do it! He'd have to go out on the hunt tonight after this, find another girl who looked like her and defile her instead.
Smiling, though his thoughts were vile and disturbed, placing his hand over her own as the drinks were set before them by the barkeep. ]
Yea... I'm just glad you're alright. You should stay indoors, avoid the public when you can. I couldn't stand it if anything were to happen to you.

So when he touched her hand, she found it a bit odd, but smiled at the gesture. Will wasn't usually the type to reach out for her like that. Though maybe he could do it a little more often. She wouldn't actually mind.]
Stay indoors? You know me better than that.
[It was a joke rather than a note of suspicion.]
You know I have to do whatever I can to help. Oh.. Winston showed up at my apartment. You must've been worried sick.

Patting her hand once before letting it go and picking up his drink. Will, took a sip and smiled at her. ]
Of course, you'd never do something so dull as to hide and cower, unlike me.
[ He was glad there was no suspicion, though he wouldn't hold it against her if she did notice something was off. Ah yes, the dog. Will hated that slobbering mutt, truth be told, he was happy it had run off to Jill, he was only going to gut it anyway. ]
He probably feels safer with you, I don't mind really... Though if you're going to have him over at your place, you might as well have me there too?
[ Giving her a playful smile, something that felt just as strange and foreign on his face as it must have looked. ]

[She's seen him do brave things before, like when they fought those demons together.
But there were plenty of little signs that said things were not as they usually are with Will. She thought he'd be more alarmed about Winston's disappearance. Jill was certain she'd get a call from Will, asking if she'd seen him, but no such call came. And then there was that smile... not that he couldn't be charming, but this was not quite the same thing.]
You're always welcome at my place, Will. Winston or not.
[In fact, she thinks she should keep a closer eye on him.]

[ Another smile. It was funny that she called Will brave, he though his original was something of a coward. Too afraid to speak his mind or to act on desires. It would be fun spending time with Jill, so long as he could keep himself from killing her just long enough. The timing had to be just perfect, for now, he'd have to make do on changing her opinion of the man. ]
Then I'll come stay with you tonight. I have some food for Winston I made fresh this morning, he must be starving.
[ Indeed, as fresh as it came, straight from the warm insides of his last victim. ]
no subject
Thanks. I'm sure Winston will love it. I don't think my cooking is as good as yours.
[Not when it comes to gourmet dog food.]

I'll be over soon. Just have a few things to tidy up before I leave. Is there anything you need me to bring?
[ He was going to have fun with this. Deciding not to pass comment on either of their cooking. He didn't think Jill would be much of a cook and yet he assumed she would have known that Will didn't do much cooking for himself... Maybe she was on to him after all? ]
no subject
No, just whatever you think Winston will need if he's going to be at my place for awhile. You know what he likes better than I do.
[Since she can't sit around and drink all day, and it appears she'll see Will later, Jill gets up from her seat.]
I'll see you later, then?
no subject
Are you still here? Sure, I'll see you over at yours.
[ Turning away from Jill and facing the barmaid instead, making small, flirtatious conversation with her and ignoring Jill as she left. He didn't want to outright say he wasn't Will, so he kept some of his traits as he chatted up the other woman, such as not looking her in the eyes for too long and choosing to use fancy metaphors and flowery words from time to time.
He was going to have fun with this. Giving Will a bad name. ]
no subject
Guess she'd have to continue her investigation, but do so discretely. She didn't want to jeopardize the real Will's safety if something had happened to him.]
