Event Log: Dead Ringers

What: The event log for the Dead Ringers event!
Where: All around the city
When: January 16th-January 25th
Warnings: Evil doubles, so we can assume manipulation, violence, murder, and maybe some nasty words
Everything seems normal on the morning of the 16th - actually, everything seems normal about the city for the entirety of this event. Nothing is strange, nothing is obviously wrong. Well, except that the population has mysteriously doubled, and the new residents each look exactly like one of the old residents. So weird! Definitely not ominous at all.
At least until your new double gets down to business. After all, their only goal is to ruin your life, and that can take any form. Smashing your favorite coffee cup? Telling your worst enemy they're right? Kissing someone else in front of your girlfriend? Brutally murdering you and then hiding your body in a closet so they can more effectively destroy your life? The possibilities are truly endless, and the only way to protect yourself is to kill your double first. They're not really open to negotiation, after all - but they sure might pretend to be in order to trick you.
So watch your back, and try to make sure that really is your best friend and not an evil clone masquerading as them. Boy, that would be awkward. If you can stick it out until January 25th, good for you! But if you didn't manage to and your double survives until the end - well, just as a final 'fuck you', there's a chance you'll come back to life and remember every awful thing your double did. Hey, at least that'll make it easier to fix, right?► This log covers January 16th-January 25th.
► Feel free to make your own logs, as well
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If your evil clone happens to take you out, please let us know here, and remember that you will not revive until the event is over.

Not really. Make it my business not to, y'know?

[ That characteristic winning smile of Rose is all wrong on her double's face. It's just a bit too cheery for the current topic. In a blink, she's closer to Sans than before and her happy-go-lucky demeanor stays on strong. ]
Just like hurting your friends. Of course I know you both don't mean to.
But I do.
[ Which is the only warning he'll get before she tries to strike. In this case, Sans isn't really the kind of meal Rose's double is looking for but the more destruction she can cause the better. This was already a shaky relationship to begin with, wasn't it? It'll be easy to tear to shreds. ]

Then she lunges, and he reacts immediately - nice thing about having reflexes honed by a lifetime of 1 HP. He abruptly ain't there anymore. He darts to the spot a few yards behind her, one supraorbital ridge inching down, sweat slipping off his skull anew.]
Not interested in talkin' this out?
no subject
You know Rose! Not much of a talker, really. Actions speak louder than words and all that jazz.
[ The double even sounds like her down to her casual tone and easy use of slang. She doesn't seem all that surprised that Sans doged the attack; he's very good at saving himself but not anyone else. ]
Not like you're much better, mister cut and run. What would you do, without the people who forgive you? [ 'Despite the fact that they shouldn't,' is implied. ]
no subject
When she starts on him, though, he very much gives the impression that he'd be sighing had the lungs for it.]
Save it, pal. I've heard that enough for today.
no subject
[ It does seem like she genuinely enjoys this. Perhaps a dark reflection of Rose's own fun-loving nature. ]
Do you want to know about Rose, then? There's so much I could tell. So much I could show, [ which is emphasized by a sudden shift in the woman's color scheme. Blond becomes white, in addition to a tail and ears of the same color. Eyes of amber instead of brown stare Sans down now. ]
You had to know she was a monster too, didn't you? [ How much of a monster exactly though is yet to be told. ]
no subject
Yeah. Okay. On his list of things he was expectin' to see today, that certainly wasn't up there. What's that, a glamor? Somethin' intentional on her part? 'Cause he's too exhausted to grasp at what that could mean just now.]
Gotta say, she never mentioned that little tidbit.
[Though the nice thing about profound exhaustion is that you simply - stop carin' about the worst of it the more it drags on. That'll be a revelation, sure, but he's had such a litany of those these past few days. He's at the point where one more's hardly gonna cut it.]
Though I don't think that's yours to share, if you don't mind me sayin'.
no subject
The wolf woman smiles with a mouth full of fangs now, definitely a bit more unsettling than Rose's usual grin. ]
That doesn't surprise me! There's a lot of secrets she's been holding onto.
A lot of secrets people have a right to know! I'm doing the right thing here, really, by being honest.

[He's thinkin' of a photograph that's gone missing from his belongings, a binder full of nonexistent research pilfered from its hiding place. He's thinkin' of the mission his double doubtless has solidified in his skull, and the hell it'd put Frisk through if he succeeds.
She smiles. The kinda smile that lets him know that Rosie's got teeth. Teeth to rival that of a Boss Monster.
That's...new.]
The "right" thing? That's pretty relative.
no subject
[ They aren't just for show, no. The tinge of malice to her grin is enough indication of that. It seems she's done attacking Sans for now, but it's definitely a warning that she could still do some serious damage. Even if it's not to him. ]
Sure! I guess I should say the right thing for me. [ Since that's the whole point of this, isn't it? To ruin Rose's life however she can. So far, she thinks she's doing a pretty bang-up job. ]
The right thing for me is also to eat. [ Something about that prrrrrobably tips him off that she's got an unorthodox diet. ]
no subject
[Just, y'know. As a pointer. He taps a phalanx against his skull, as if to ascertain the solidity of his bone. And, yep, that sure is a thing she's hintin' at. The sharp teeth, the creepy look, the emphasis on the word.
Yeah, that kinda spells it out for him.]
Can't say I'm what you'd call a prime rib, if y'know what I'm sayin'. Not much meat to marrow and magic.
[And as always, he's prone to airy, alliterative assaults upon the consciousness, simply because he can. A real pain in the coccyx, this guy.]
no subject
Magic is what made us this. Not the animal, but the hunter.
Maybe it'll make me stronger.
[ It was a thought, anyway. Kite had experimented with the effects of someone else's magic in Rose's veins. The result was the flesh-eating monstronsity she is today. Rose wants nothing to do with becoming more a monster than she already is but what Rose doesn't want her double does. ]
no subject
[But since this double's got the memories of the original, hey, he could sure take her for a spin, couldn't he?
If he weren't so goddamned tired, that is. He's wearied to the bone from all this zipping about the city, and this encounter ain't helped any. If he can convince her he ain't worth takin' a bite out of, fine. If not -
If not, this encounter ends a mite sooner.]
no subject
[ Looks like that's a solid 'no' on the convincing front, unfortunately. The wolf woman speeds at him again, claws at the ready to tear into any bone she can. ]
no subject
[Wow, he kinda hates that he can make that joke. She springs for him again with an atypical speed and precision, and once again he slides to the side and ends up several yards away.
MISS.]
You gettin' sick of this anytime soon?
no subject
I could do this all day, dude! Rose was a fighter. Is, really. Always will be. Even if she hates to think so.
[ She zips towards him again, expecting to miss again. In reality, that's kind of the point because- ]
Besides, I think I've got a lot more energy than you do right now.
no subject
Hey, swing and a miss -
[A swing and a MISS indeed, but he's feelin' more than a little bone tired at this whole escapade now. Who'da figured, right?]
So where's the real you, anyway?
[If she's dead too -
Well, he'll burn that bridge if he gets to it.]
no subject
[ That's not news to Sans, probably. Or anyone that knows Rose enough to know she deflects. Avoids. Runs. ]
no subject
[It means she ain't dead, and that's really - that's really all he cares about, if he's honest. He's reached his limit on caring about things just now, see.]
In fact, I think I might just have to take after her fine example.
no subject
[ Circling back to their original topic, aren't they? That's fine by here. ]
How about one more for the road?
[ Schoom. Yet another blur of fangs and claws coming his way. ]
no subject
Took a shortcut. As he does.]
