Who: Everyone participating in the event!
What: The event log for the Dead Ringers event!
Where: All around the city
When: January 16th-January 25th
Warnings: Evil doubles, so we can assume manipulation, violence, murder, and maybe some nasty words

Everything seems normal on the morning of the 16th - actually, everything seems normal about the city for the entirety of this event. Nothing is strange, nothing is obviously wrong. Well, except that the population has mysteriously doubled, and the new residents each look exactly like one of the old residents. So weird! Definitely not ominous at all.

At least until your new double gets down to business. After all, their only goal is to ruin your life, and that can take any form. Smashing your favorite coffee cup? Telling your worst enemy they're right? Kissing someone else in front of your girlfriend? Brutally murdering you and then hiding your body in a closet so they can more effectively destroy your life? The possibilities are truly endless, and the only way to protect yourself is to kill your double first. They're not really open to negotiation, after all - but they sure might pretend to be in order to trick you.

So watch your back, and try to make sure that really is your best friend and not an evil clone masquerading as them. Boy, that would be awkward. If you can stick it out until January 25th, good for you! But if you didn't manage to and your double survives until the end - well, just as a final 'fuck you', there's a chance you'll come back to life and remember every awful thing your double did. Hey, at least that'll make it easier to fix, right?

[He never suspects a thing as he leans up against a nearby tree. Her mind feels the same to him and this is what shall be his downfall. He lets his guard down around her.]

Alas, yes. He's clever like I am. But I'll catch to him before too long.

[By then, the damage will be done and Ushahin will have his friends' minds lying in tatters.]

[ That's Rose's downfall as well; the girl is far too trusting. It makes sense she'd gravitate to people who're the same. Thankfully, that makes this double's work all the easier. ]

Kind of freaky how they, like, know everything about us, huh?

[ How they are them, just a darker reflection. Ushahin's double sounds like her kind of guy, honestly. Though the pain she's planning to inflict - for the most part - is going to be physical. Speaking of- ]

Like how much Rose cares about you and would hate to see you hurt by her hands.

[ And that's the only indication he'll get that something's amiss before the blonde's double decides to strike. Speed is her strength and she'll be on him in a blink to mortal eyes. He isn't mortal though so she's not sure if he'll be able to react fast enough.

Her teeth will try to find him first though. Feeding is the most important thing to this double; it consumes her just as it does Rose. Only she gives into it in ways that Rose won't. ]

[He barely registers how the double speaks of Rosie in third person. He suddenly has an inkling that this is not his friend.]

What--?

[Then he's attacked with no chance to defend himself. He throws up his crippled arm to keep her teeth from finding his throat or face. There's a sharp cry of pain as he feels her sharp teeth sink into his flesh. Fool that he was, he should have realized this wasn't his girl from the minute he spoke to her. Now he was paying the price.]

[ That tiny slip-up is all she needs to seize her opportunity. There isn't even a fraction of guilt in her head; the real Rose would be so ashamed of herself... Good thing she isn't her.

Since he hides his throat (a shame, she would've gone for the jugular), she settles instead for sinking her teeth into his shoulder. Not terribly meaty, is he? Ah well. She still gets a sizeable chunk of flesh between her teeth that she tears harshly from him.

Blood stains her teeth and mouth and she smiles Rose's smile all the while. ]

[It's horrifying. He's trapped inside one of his own nightmares, the kind that go on forever without him waking up. Perhaps this is karma for the many victims he'd done this to once upon a time.

He feels the pain in his shoulder and his head swims as he tries to stay in the present moment. He needs to get away from this demon before she decides to take another bite out of him. He focuses his powers. If she's anything like the real Rosie, he can still get inside her head. He speaks inside her mind, none of his usual soft tones or carefully held back powers being used here.]

Let. Me. Go!

[ Karmic retribution is a possibility.

Though it's more likely this version of Rose is just a colossal bitch, really. She's a woman hellbent on ruining the original's image that she doesn't really stop to consider much meaning beyond that.

The blond's about to strike again more like a viper than a wolf but that voice in her head is like nails on a chalkboard; it causes her to wince away instead. ] Ugh-! [ she spits, a hand coming up to her head. Should have figured Ushahin was hiding something like this up his sleeve with all his talk of dreams and nightmares.

It doesn't serve its intended purpose of getting her to stop. It does, however, give her enough of a pause that he could properly retaliate. ]

[While it doesn't full capacitate her, it gives him enough time to fight back. His arms are useless, the left one broken and the right one having a chunk taken out of the shoulder. So he curls his legs up and kicks out, pushing her off of him. Then he scrambles to his feet, unsteady as the blood pours and gushes down his right arm.]

Stay away from me, you monster!

[He pulls out the sword that is always at his side, pointing it unsteadily at Rose's double. He almost never uses it, but this is an unusual circumstance. He begins to back up, careful to never turn his back on her.]

[ Teeth stained with blood bare in a snarl at the word 'monster.' The display is threatening but also a tinge smug. Unlike Rose, this copy of her revels in her monstrous nature. Embraces it. He can call her a monster all he likes and she'll tell him he's right. ]

Like you're any better! [ They both have their dark sides. Rose may not seen it as much as others have but she's not that naive. There were reasons Newt and Hermann and Sans all told her to avoid Ushahin. But her idealistic self always gave people chances. ]

But fine. Run away. Not much meat on your bones anyway.
