Intro Log: None Hadriel With Left Shark

What: The intro log for February
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: February 10th-16th
Warnings: Shark week
Once more, new arrivals will wake up on the ground level of the ruined colosseum. There isn't anything particularly comforting about it, either- everything is a bit cold and impersonal and there is, of course, the fact that nobody remembers just how they managed to wind up here in the first place. That can all be explained in time, though- until then, you've got quite a bit on your plate already.
And why is that? Well, that may be because you're also surrounded by sharks.
Yes, on land.
It doesn't mean that they're totally incapacitated though- you still have your two headed sharks, your giant sharks, and your sharktopus that are more than capable of flopping in your general direction before taking you into a death roll. And don't forget the (far more dangerous) sand sharks, capable of swimming through the ground as if it were water itself. You might want to start to finda life rafthigh ground soon.
But hey, if you manage to get away from the sharks, feel free to help yourself to one of the odd food shaped blankets. These cozy comforters are perfect for your new bed, but they tend to carry a faint scent of the food they represent, so be sure not to sleep on an empty stomach!
Listen to the Jaws theme, grab a harpoon, and get cozy! On your way to safety, make sure to explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers February 10th-16th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

Nagato woke up. It was the first surprise: he was supposed to be dead. One cannot bring a whole Village back to life without paying the price: this time, it was death and the redhead was ready to repay his debt. The second surprise was the pain, but this one wasn't that shocking: pain was an old companion, one that Nagato knew and accepted. Even the dried blood on his arms wasn't exactly surprising. The third was the shark.
At first, Nagato's brain had all but frozen: beside a few summons, he had never seen a shark, especially one flopping uselessly on the ground a few feet away from him. Its fins clapped frenetically on the sand as it tried to come closer, gaping maws biting at the air. It was grotesque and once the initial shock gone, the ninja couldn't help but pity the poor creature: it was out of his element, a little bit like him. Killing it by throwing a knife in its big, vacant eye was a mercy, really.
"Hell is a strange, strange place." Nagato muttered, trying to get up.
Keyword: trying. His legs refused to work, the deep scars digging into his muscles and eight years of inactivity sending spikes of pain running from his feet directly to his brain. Nagato fell back down with a strangled cry and stayed here for a while, dizzy.
[B: In the streets.]
It took him some time but Nagato managed to leave the coliseum to wander in the streets of the city. The fact he was in a cave just cemented the certitude he'd died and gone to hell: it didn't faze him. The sharks, however, were another thing entirely. He was ready to pay for his crimes, but torture by fish was a little bit too undignified. Most were easy to evade, but some swam through the ground like it was water and those had almost managed to get him once or twice already. Nagato was running out of throwing knives, his chakra too disturbed for him to use the rest of his abilities. What he needed was somewhere to perch himself, to get off the ground to safety.
After a little while of limping around trying to find a ladder, anything, Nagato stumbled onto a partially collapsed wall leading to the roof of a nearby building. He lost no time painfully climbing up, finally allowing himself to sit on the edge of the roof and rest a bit.
At least, from here he can keep an eye on the streets and guide anyone who needs it to the relative safety of his shelter.
A!
"Hey. Need a little help? You're not hurt, are ya?"
Amos spoke with a New Orleans accent, a bit snappier than a typical Southern drawl.
no subject
"I am fine." Nagato wheezed as he tried to get back on his feet once again, ignoring Amos' hand. "I just wasn't expecting a shark on land. You should move to safety."
no subject
"It's fine. They're not that fast. Here, let me help ya. You're sure you're not hurt?" Amos persisted. The sharks really weren't too fast, and Amos could sense their thoughts, being able to talk to animals mentally. He was in less danger than the rest, but only by a slight degree. He couldn't actually convince the sharks he wasn't as edible as everyone else (because he was) but he could tell them he wasn't the easiest prey to tackle, and that generally made lazier predators think twice about chomping on him.
He was more concerned about they guy who looked like he could barely stand, and who might possibly be bleeding. Amos couldn't tell, only that there was blood everywhere, and that made him nervous.

Nagato shrugged and leaned a bit against the nearest wall to look at the sharks flopping around on the sand. He absentmindedly rubbed his arm, sending a few flakes of dried blood drifting down to the ground. The sharks weren't scaring him, because what's the worst they could do to him? Kill him? He was already dead! But no one else should be suffering, even less someone who just wanted to help, like that young man.
"Maybe we should reach a more solid ground, where the sand sharks shouldn't be able to reach us. Have you seen something of the sort?"
no subject
"Not before now. But they don't bother me too much, I can tell when they're coming."
Being able to speak to animals telepathically has its perks. Amos picks up one of the food-shaped blankets lying around - a cookie of some sort? - and folds the round blanket in half before holding it out as if to drape it around Nagato's thin shoulders. "Here, so you won't be naked." Because that's just asking for trouble. And awkwardness, because regular people have weird scruples about being naked. Amos, who would be a nudist if he could be warm all the times, doesn't care one way or the other. But Nagato might care?

"'Tis neither Hell, nor Purgatory. You find yourself in Hadriel. Can you walk, or need you to be carried?"
Now is not the time to mince words. Henry's eyes dart around the ruined arena, keeping watch for any sign of sharks.
no subject
"Hands off." The ninja growled softly, trying to get on his feet. "I am fine, and I do not require assistance at the moment. Your service would be better employed elsewhere."
no subject
"Then by all means, leave this place. The beasts within cannot escape the colosseum while we may. I would suggest the clinic for the location of your next rest. 'Tis just oppposite here."
no subject
"I'm not in need of any medical attention: the wounds are old and canoot be healed any further. I'll not take the medics away from someone needing their care. However, I could use a safe place. Is there anything of the sort nearby?"
no subject
Tact was not a strong point of his. Either way, he then answered the question posed to him.
"Anywhere that is not here. The spires or the houses are your best choice. You possess a phone, in which is stored both a guide and a map. But linger not."
Spotting movement that was not one of the flopping sharks, Henry drew his sword and raised his shield at the ready.
no subject
"A phone?" Nagato looks up at Henry, puzzled. There is nothing looking like a phone here but the ninja knows no other phone than the ones with wire, and even those are not used very often back to his world. His mobile is in his pocket, but Nagato had not given it more than a cursory glance. "I have seen nothing of the sort?"
The man's battle stance has the ninja tense a bit, but his gaze drifts back to the sharks, and he just takes one of his knives out, ready to help. The sand sharks slowly come closer, carefully circling the two of them, looking for an opening.
B
A sandshark that had been following Nagato came towards the hooded Knight. Quick as a flash, he turned a hand on it, lifting it up from the ground. It wriggled around in the air for a moment before Kylo crushed his throat, letting the fish go limp, before it splatted back to the ground. "Was that the only one after you?" He asked.
no subject
"Three were after me. One you killed, one I killed but the third is still roaming." Nagato explained, not moving from his perch on the roof. "I thank you for the assistance, though it wasn't necessary."
no subject
"How'd you kill it?" He asked. Though his gaze can't be seen, he's looking the ninja over, wondering what sort of skills such a weak man could possess.
no subject
"Maybe luck, maybe not." Nagato shrugged, fingers tapping the stone below him, the only proof of his agitation.
He was chakra deprived and most of his weapons had not followed so actively provoking the cloaked man was out of the question, but that didn't mean he was going to make things easy for him.
no subject
He looked up at the ninja, his head cocked to the left. "In my experience, luck is just another word for power that people don't want to acknowledge."
no subject
"There is nothing to acknowledge here. Now, I wouldn't keep you from... What is it that you were doing. Feel free to carry on."
no subject
Well, he's not about to sit around and bandy words with a weak man. If he didn't want to acknowledge the power he might have, far be it from him to try and make Nagato do it. He's got better things to do with his time.
"There's not much to do in this cave once you get past the monsters. Talking to you is as good as anything." Sorry, he's not being gotten rid of that easily.
