Intro Log: None Hadriel With Left Shark

Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for February
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: February 10th-16th
Warnings: Shark week

Once more, new arrivals will wake up on the ground level of the ruined colosseum. There isn't anything particularly comforting about it, either- everything is a bit cold and impersonal and there is, of course, the fact that nobody remembers just how they managed to wind up here in the first place. That can all be explained in time, though- until then, you've got quite a bit on your plate already.

And why is that? Well, that may be because you're also surrounded by sharks.

Yes, on land.

It doesn't mean that they're totally incapacitated though- you still have your two headed sharks, your giant sharks, and your sharktopus that are more than capable of flopping in your general direction before taking you into a death roll. And don't forget the (far more dangerous) sand sharks, capable of swimming through the ground as if it were water itself. You might want to start to find a life raft high ground soon.

But hey, if you manage to get away from the sharks, feel free to help yourself to one of the odd food shaped blankets. These cozy comforters are perfect for your new bed, but they tend to carry a faint scent of the food they represent, so be sure not to sleep on an empty stomach!

Listen to the Jaws theme, grab a harpoon, and get cozy! On your way to safety, make sure to explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

► This log covers February 10th-16th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

Jill lowers her gun as the man makes it to her position. "You're welcome. My name is Jill Valentine. I'm with the city guard. Are you injured?"

It's best to assess the situation with this man before she gets any further. He sure did run fast, though, so he's probably fine.

Trying to catch his breath, Lee shakes his head before realizing that he hasn't actually checked. He quickly glances over his legs, his arms, and feels a bit distractedly at his torso. He's gotten a few nasty scrapes and cuts, and theres a pain in his side that he's pretty sure will be a nasty bruise come morning, but nothing that would raise any warning flags. For a 60 yr old man who has been chased by terrestrial sharks, he's doing pretty well.

"I'm alright," he finally assures her. "Um, its Dr. Rosen. Or you can call me Lee...Doctor is a bit formal...given the circumstances..."

"Alright, Lee." The informality makes Jill smile a little. Guess there's no time to get too formal when they're running for their lives.

"If you're a doctor, maybe you can help out. These sharks are going to make some nasty injuries. Do you think you could do that?" Given that he's a doctor, he probably would've suggested the same once things calmed down a bit.

"W-well I don't have any supplies so I'm not sure what help I can be but I will do what I can," He nods. Even if he hadn't been trained that doctors must attend to whatever patients come before them in a time of need it is in Rosen's nature to try and help when and where he can. It is a large part of what drives him.

"Have there, um, have there been any casualties?"

If he does what he can it's better than doing nothing at all. As a doctor, he probably wouldn't be able to turn a blind eye if he saw someone injured right in front of him.

"Not yet, but it could be a matter of time before someone is hurt. Typically, when something like this happens, it can go on for awhile." Nothing is absolutely predictable here, but she wouldn't be surprised to see sharks swimming around for a couple of weeks.

"There's a clinic in town. I'll bet they'd be glad for the extra help. They might not have everything you're used to working with back home, but it could be enough to save a life."

It's a lot of information to take in for a mind still hardwired to run for his life, but Dr. Rosen is listening as intently as he can manage.

"Could the sharks feasibly leave this arena? Or will we be free of them out there?"

First and foremost get out of the beasts way, he can do nothing for anyone if he is missing limbs or dead.

"I think you'll be safe outside of here, but sometimes events are unpredictable. Even so, there are other types of monsters that can be found roaming around, so it's best to be careful." If it's not sharks it could very well be something else that tries to eat them.

"It's a rough introduction to this place. I know." Jill remembers well what it was like when she arrived here. "But if we stick together and help each other out, we just might get out of here one day."

He hesitates, becoming a bit more flustered when a long tentacle slithers up a wall nearby, too close for his liking.

"If this is what is in here, what is it I should be expecting out there?"

Another tentacle joins it, the two gliding like slickened ropes over the stone.

"Or perhaps this isn't the time for questions...."

"All kinds of things. Sometimes new ones arrive out of nowhere until the gods send them away. Anyway, you should find a place to live. You'll be safe there when things get crazy."

And yes, this may not be the time for long discussions. Jill is sure he'll discover more about this cave-world in time.
