Intro Log: None Hadriel With Left Shark

Warnings: Shark week
What: The intro log for February
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: February 10th-16th
Warnings: Shark week
Once more, new arrivals will wake up on the ground level of the ruined colosseum. There isn't anything particularly comforting about it, either- everything is a bit cold and impersonal and there is, of course, the fact that nobody remembers just how they managed to wind up here in the first place. That can all be explained in time, though- until then, you've got quite a bit on your plate already.
And why is that? Well, that may be because you're also surrounded by sharks.
Yes, on land.
It doesn't mean that they're totally incapacitated though- you still have your two headed sharks, your giant sharks, and your sharktopus that are more than capable of flopping in your general direction before taking you into a death roll. And don't forget the (far more dangerous) sand sharks, capable of swimming through the ground as if it were water itself. You might want to start to finda life rafthigh ground soon.
But hey, if you manage to get away from the sharks, feel free to help yourself to one of the odd food shaped blankets. These cozy comforters are perfect for your new bed, but they tend to carry a faint scent of the food they represent, so be sure not to sleep on an empty stomach!
Listen to the Jaws theme, grab a harpoon, and get cozy! On your way to safety, make sure to explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers February 10th-16th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
of course
Kate doesn't waste time grabbing what she needs, regardless of how minor those injuries might be in a place where sharks greet you and demons have roamed free, dragged out of tears in reality. )
Kate. ( Yes, Katherine, it's on your jacket. But some manners are reflexive, come without thinking. She goes through the motions - disinfecting things, placing alcohol on cotton to clean up the cuts - before answering. ) Th' others are prob'ly around somewhere. Colosseum, most likely.
( It's the problem with a volunteer basis, really. Some people - like herself - may spend too much time here, but there's no real organisation to hours like in the clinic back home. )
You get in a fight with one of the sharks?
( Although it doesn't look like a shark attack. But since they're not exactly normal sharks... who knows, really. She tries to expect everything here. )

So this place is like any other kind of town sort of thing, huh? Probably a lot more people around than what I expected.
[he climbs his feet on top of the stool's rails and places his hands on his lap, expectant]
--I did fight some of them, but I arrived like this, from back home.
[prompto's gaze seems to shift to the floor, as if embarrassed or ashamed--but, regardless, he doesn't give much anything else away.]
My stomach's hurting, too. [looking back at her] Is there medicine in this place?
no subject
If your towns involve strange beings and monsters.
( And sudden bouts of those strange beings feeding off you. Gods - well, it's a nice term, shorter than anything else - but it's not accurate. Maybe she should seek to use it less. )
Got some. ( The medicine side of this place is... not excellent, and reliant on the powers of one kid. It's not pretty, really. She presses a piece of gauze to the cut across Prompto's nose and tapes it down. ) Gonna have to stitch that one on your temple, alright?
no subject
[closes his left eye, know that there's some mild pain coming his way. he's quick to add,] Thanks.
[because it's only polite]
The towns I come from are generally okay. When it's nighttime, monsters come out a lot. I guess it's like living out in the wildlife, unlike the cities. [uh] There's really no way out of this 'cave,' is there...?
no subject
Wouldn't stay here for the hell of it, personally.
( Some might, but god, she'd be out of here like a shot if there was an option to. Even with all the people here she actually likes.
Undergrounds.
No. )
Tried looking for an exit th' first month I were here. ( Foregoing any of the necessities like a shower, for one thing.
She finishes up, checking her work and putting the thread down. ) You're done.
no subject
Thanks.
[nice knowing there's competent and friendly people around here]
...the first month. So, how long have you been here? I'm assuming no one's really from 'here' though, right?
no subject
Nearly a year.
( Which is a thought she tries to keep out of her mind and often fails at. )
Plenty of people who've been here longer.
( Not exactly comforting, but honest. )
But no one's from here 'cept the guys callin' themselves gods.
no subject
[there has to be a way out--]
I don't know much about gods, but it's usually not good news. [as it were... (insert ffxv plotline)] Was it because them why we're here?
[he'll... hope she remembers the tummy ache medicine]
no subject
Kate starts clearing things away, putting them back on shelves as needed and-
Pulling out a few tablets. Painkillers. Not exactly proper stomach ache medicine, but what can you do? )
One of 'em, at least. ( She checks a couple of bottles of medicine before putting one back. ) Opened The Door, now people get dragged in every so often. Reverse happens. Uncontrolled, though.
( She holds out the bottle of medicine. ) Just painkillers, but should help.
no subject
That's just messed up.
[honestly...]
That's just saying we never even had a choice from the start.
[which, with gods? not too much of a farfetched idea]
--ah, thank you. I guess they'll have to do...
[he takes the bottle, considers that he shouldn't take all these for himself, and instead pops out two pills for himself. he returns it to her.]
I'll come back, uh, if I don't feel better. Are you here all the time?
no subject
Yeah.
It might be easier to supply this place with actual medication and technology if they had Hope's help, but she can understand why Bruce doesn't want to go there.
(But they're also the best resource this place has). )
Most days.
( Okay, pretty much every day. ) Don't live here or ow- anything. ( She catches that piece of dialect before it turns into another conversation about what it means, translates into plain language instead. )
If you don't feel any better, let me know. Try and get a healer to look at you.
( Thankfully they at least have those, so the actual medical supplies aren't as life or death as they could be otherwise. )
no subject
[he nods at that, raising an eyebrow at her own correction before deciding to dismiss it.]
I'll be sure to let you know.
[touching his nose gently, he will do his best to remember not to scratch at it nor at his stitches for the time being]
Thank you again, Kate. [he figures he should go, find answers from his friends; that's where he feels most comfortable, after all] I hope to see you around some other time.
no subject
If I'm not, someone else will be.
( Since it's kind of important. )
Take care of yourself.
