Intro Log: None Hadriel With Left Shark

Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for February
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: February 10th-16th
Warnings: Shark week

Once more, new arrivals will wake up on the ground level of the ruined colosseum. There isn't anything particularly comforting about it, either- everything is a bit cold and impersonal and there is, of course, the fact that nobody remembers just how they managed to wind up here in the first place. That can all be explained in time, though- until then, you've got quite a bit on your plate already.

And why is that? Well, that may be because you're also surrounded by sharks.

Yes, on land.

It doesn't mean that they're totally incapacitated though- you still have your two headed sharks, your giant sharks, and your sharktopus that are more than capable of flopping in your general direction before taking you into a death roll. And don't forget the (far more dangerous) sand sharks, capable of swimming through the ground as if it were water itself. You might want to start to find a life raft high ground soon.

But hey, if you manage to get away from the sharks, feel free to help yourself to one of the odd food shaped blankets. These cozy comforters are perfect for your new bed, but they tend to carry a faint scent of the food they represent, so be sure not to sleep on an empty stomach!

Listen to the Jaws theme, grab a harpoon, and get cozy! On your way to safety, make sure to explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

[ Rose isn't quite as human as she seems but. They'll get to that. Eventually. ]

Those things? Some weird shark octopus hybrid, I guess. [ Which isn't all that surprising considering the gods don't know how food or pants work half the time. ]

Guessing you're new, dude. [ She would've noticed a... huge goat guy... before she thinks. ]

[He would offer a hand, but his are enormous, so he does not.] I just...found myself here a few moments ago. I do not quite understand what has happened?

[ Yeah, he's uh. He's pretty huge in general. Makes her think of Oni from back home... She wonders if there's any relation. ]

You got pulled through The Door! It kind of brings people in from all over, so. Sorry about that.

Hope you weren't in the middle of anything important.

[He seems like he's lying.]

It must have some powerful magic, to pull me right past the Barrier.

[ Ah, Asgore. Don't fib a fibber.

Thankfully, Rose isn't about to call him out on it. Hey, he wasn't to lie? That's his business. ]

Yeah, pulled me from behind a barrier too so... Guess it kind of makes up its own rules.

Oh, yes? I am sorry to hear that.

[He's used to humans being generally free of barriers. Maybe they've just kept on making more out there, but he doubts it.]

It's cool, dude. Not your fault Haven was terrible.

[ Kind of like Asgore, whoever named things there was terrible at it. Haven. What a joke. ]

Well, they don't quite got a barrier here but we're still stuck underground. Can't get through the tunnels that might lead us out. I mean, people think they lead us out but who knows.

[ She thinks it might be another convenience store, honestly. Just a hope that diminishes the longer they try at it. She starts to walk as she talks, away from the sharks and general nonsense going on in the arena. ]

[He sighs, looking up as he follows along with her.]

That is alright. I have lived many years underground. Why stop now?

[hasitsthorns]

I'm sorry, dude. It's not fun.

[ So his home was underground too? Well, at least that's a bit of familiarity. From his tone, however, she has to wonder if it wasn't a good thing for him either. ]

I think they got a pretty sweet set up though for being in a cave.

It certainly does seem impressive! We had cities like this in the Underground...is it only this chamber here, or does the cavern extend farther out?

[hasitsthorns]

Just this cavern. But it's got a lot. A lake, park, and houses.

There's the tunnels, but... There's creatures there. Dangerous ones. I think some people have tried to get through them, but.

[ Rose has only heard so she can't really say. ]

It didn't work out.

...I see.

[He glances for a moment in that direction. Maybe...but the people here would know better than he. He'll figure it out later.]

Are they the same dangerous creatures as there are in here? These sharks are not so terrible.

[hasitsthorns]

Not exactly. These ones disappear, usually, when the newbies stop arriving.

[ At least, she hasn't seen any other creatures stick around after the fact. She knows there was an event, however, where some of the creatures from there hung about in the tunnels but that was... different. ]

A lot of 'em are worse. And there's lots more.
