Intro Log: None Hadriel With Left Shark

What: The intro log for February
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: February 10th-16th
Warnings: Shark week
Once more, new arrivals will wake up on the ground level of the ruined colosseum. There isn't anything particularly comforting about it, either- everything is a bit cold and impersonal and there is, of course, the fact that nobody remembers just how they managed to wind up here in the first place. That can all be explained in time, though- until then, you've got quite a bit on your plate already.
And why is that? Well, that may be because you're also surrounded by sharks.
Yes, on land.
It doesn't mean that they're totally incapacitated though- you still have your two headed sharks, your giant sharks, and your sharktopus that are more than capable of flopping in your general direction before taking you into a death roll. And don't forget the (far more dangerous) sand sharks, capable of swimming through the ground as if it were water itself. You might want to start to finda life rafthigh ground soon.
But hey, if you manage to get away from the sharks, feel free to help yourself to one of the odd food shaped blankets. These cozy comforters are perfect for your new bed, but they tend to carry a faint scent of the food they represent, so be sure not to sleep on an empty stomach!
Listen to the Jaws theme, grab a harpoon, and get cozy! On your way to safety, make sure to explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers February 10th-16th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

"...But I was a proper nation again." Which, looking back at it now, was weird after being an individual for so long, and it's really disorienting now. Concentrating on the having been separated from family issue is an easier topic to deal with.
no subject
"A nation, huh?" He wonders if that's good or bad. Personally, he's not too fond of his little brother shouldering all that responsibility. "Did you see your sisters? Or any of your people?"
no subject
"It was nice to see everyone again, but I can be here and remember them and you at once and I cannot be back home and remember them and you at once. Next time, we need to talk to the door so we can all go home on our own terms, yes?"
no subject
"Yeah... If we could." But, wait, maybe Muscovy has some insight now. Firo tilts his head curiously. "Say, what was it like when you went back? Did you actually see the door?"
He knows you can never get it all, but it would be nice if there were a way to make sure he'd remember Muscovy if he ever went back home.
no subject
That's a good question, though. It was so long ago, and he was ...surprise? No, he wasn't really. Because- "I was here one moment, and the next I was back in my world." He thinks. "If I saw it, it made me forget it." Which is not a good thought, either. "...We cannot wait until such a thing happens again."
no subject
"I agree that I don't want to wait, but... what exactly do you mean?"
As far as he can tell, there isn't much they can do.
no subject
There isn't much, at least if he remembers correctly that they don't even know where the door is. Do they?
"Have we found the Door yet?"
no subject
"It actually hasn't been long at all for us. You didn't miss a thing."
no subject
There just has to have passed at least a good amount of time while he was gone.
no subject
"No way. It hasn't even been a year. It hasn't even been a week." He jerks his head back to indicate the buildings all around them. "Doesn't everything look exactly the same?"
no subject
Obviously this much of an age difference means that centuries have passed. Even if he grew almost all of it within less than the last hundred years.
"...It looks the same. But Hope might have restored it, yes?"
no subject
He shrugs. "It's... weird." Even as he thinks that, he reflects that this might be for the best. How would he have handled it if he'd known Muscovy was gone so long? "But I swear, barely anything's happened. Even your room should be exactly how you left it."
no subject
He's not sure about Shadow. Does he still live there? Doesn't he? From what he remembers he hadn't seen him around for a while before he left all those centuries and no time at all ago.
no subject
He perks up. Their home has definitely been missing something, but now they can fix that. "You wanna go back now? You could tell me about everything you've been up to."
no subject
Thinking about their home, though... "I will need a new bed."
The bed that he used before was always really, really big, but even as a child he realized that it would have been small for an adult. And he's grown into a pretty tall adult, at least for a nation.
no subject
"At least there's all these abandoned houses around here--one of those has got to have an extra bed lying around. Come on."
He doesn't yet make any move to step away, though. It hasn't been nearly as long for him as it has been for Muscovy, but... just the thought of losing him for so long makes Firo want to stay close.
no subject
Why...
Oh. Right. He reaches (not up anymore, only over) to take Firo's hand. That must be what Firo was waiting for, after all that's how they often walked around when he was here before.
no subject
Does he say something? He'd never hold an adult's hand back home--and he's pretty sure he wouldn't have here. Muscovy's grown up now, so he almost thinks about mentioning how they should leave this kind of thing behind. At the same time, it seems a little mean to say that when Muscovy's finally back.
Hesitant, he smiles up at Muscovy and takes his hand. Leaving his siblings had to be hard, even if Firo's happy to see him again. "...I hope you're okay to be back."
no subject
Which he really hopes doesn't happen soon the Door or gods or whoever is responsible BETTER NOT DO THAT :)
no subject
He pauses, trying to keep any excitement out of his voice. "Time really hadn't passed at all when you got back?"
He'd heard mentions of that phenomenon before, but now it's coming from someone that a) he trusts and b) he knows has gone through it personally.
no subject
"None of my people felt less connected, which they would have done if I'd been gone." He assumes, anyway. How else could it be? Nations going away corresponds to them not having people anymore, even though it is usually the people that drift away sooner. "And no other nation had tried to move into my lands more than normally." Which one would have to assume would happen if they were really vacated, even if their regular occupant wasn't very strong and under heavy tribute duty.
no subject
No matter how much Muscovy grows, Firo's not sure that he'll ever understand all that nation stuff. He wishes he did; it must be important to taking care of his little brother.
He gives Muscovy's hand a gently tug as he veers towards one of the spires--there might be beds in there.
no subject
"That's all good, yes. If they had felt less connected or another nation had moved in, that might have forced me to go away if I couldn't have stopped it after."
no subject
The door swings open, and Firo moves to lead them inside. The main room has the usual pieces of furniture, and then beyond that is the bedroom.
"'Go away'? Like you'd have to move?"
He smiles a little, joking, "You're not going to let anybody push you around now that you're like that, are you?"
Muscovy's almost as big as Berga, he's pretty sure. The kid wanted to be strong, right? What kid wouldn't? This seems like the answer to his hopes
no subject
He peers into the bedroom and looks at the bed there. "We aren't born and don't die, yes? We just show up and go away."
