Intro Log: None Hadriel With Left Shark

Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for February
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: February 10th-16th
Warnings: Shark week

Once more, new arrivals will wake up on the ground level of the ruined colosseum. There isn't anything particularly comforting about it, either- everything is a bit cold and impersonal and there is, of course, the fact that nobody remembers just how they managed to wind up here in the first place. That can all be explained in time, though- until then, you've got quite a bit on your plate already.

And why is that? Well, that may be because you're also surrounded by sharks.

Yes, on land.

It doesn't mean that they're totally incapacitated though- you still have your two headed sharks, your giant sharks, and your sharktopus that are more than capable of flopping in your general direction before taking you into a death roll. And don't forget the (far more dangerous) sand sharks, capable of swimming through the ground as if it were water itself. You might want to start to find a life raft high ground soon.

But hey, if you manage to get away from the sharks, feel free to help yourself to one of the odd food shaped blankets. These cozy comforters are perfect for your new bed, but they tend to carry a faint scent of the food they represent, so be sure not to sleep on an empty stomach!

Listen to the Jaws theme, grab a harpoon, and get cozy! On your way to safety, make sure to explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

► This log covers February 10th-16th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

I've never worn anything with...zippers before.

[But her court gown wasn't going to work here. The skirt were heavy and the dress itself limited her movements too much. She knew she would need to move around more.]

You need to wear something under the thing with the zipper, or it will catch on things and rub against your skin and that will not be very nice, yes?

[Passing on things he found out the hard way as a child to a fellow person from earlier times.]

You can also wear this, if you don't want to. [He digs a pair of sweatpants out of a nearby pile of sports clothing and holds it up for her.]

Is this...appropriate for women to wear here?

[She asked as she took the sweatpants. They seemed of soft material and as if they would be comfortable to wear. At least, compared to a corset and layers of heavy skirts.]

I suppose it could not hurt to try.
romanovs: (Absentminded huh?)

It is less revealing than a lot of other things being worn, and most women here wear trousers.

[Over the years away from home he got the impression that there is roughly nothing that is not appropriate for women to wear in a lot of people's homeworlds, short of them running around naked. And even then he isn't sure with some.]

[She carefully folded the sweatpants over her arm before looking over the other clothes.] I'm surprised, in France that would be considered very strange for a woman to dress as a man.
romanovs: (Is that so?)

It would be considered just as strange in my house, but most people here are from the future, yes? Women and men dress almost the same in their time, so trousers aren't man's clothes for them.

Your house? Your household, you mean? [She wondered if she was speaking to someone who was royal or noble but she couldn't tell.]

What else do you recommend to wear here?

[His clothes - well, the ugly sweater aside - certainly speak of some wealth, even if the fashion is unfamiliar. No peasant/serf colours, and no peasant fabrics, either.]

Both. And in most of the world, when I am from.

Do you prefer a loose or a wide fit? [She's nobility - not his, but someone else's, he is sure, and there is an automatic shift in his manners to accommodate for that.]

Something I could move in would be nice, the corset limits my movements too much.

[It was something she was just going to have to get used to here. This wasn't the royal court and she had to adapt.] I suppose loose fit would work best then.

*narrow, not wide, obviously

The sweatpants will serve you well then, and... [He digs around the clothes a bit and finally turns up with a T-shirt and a hoodie.] These.
