Good morning, new arrivals! Or, well, it's probably morning. The sun is up, anyway. Okay - not the sun, but that ball of light at the top of the cave that functions as the sun, anyway. Whatever. The point is you've woken to find yourself on the floor of Hadriel's colosseum. You may be wondering where you are and what you're doing here, but what you should be wondering is how fast you need to run to get away from a three-headed snake.
You're not the only one who just woke up. Also to be found in the arena, angry and confused, are Runespoors - large three-headed snakes. Only one of the heads is venomous, but all of them are perfectly willing to take a bite out of you if you get too close - or if you annoy it. If you're lucky, an attacking Runespoor may distract itself via infighting between the three heads, giving you time to run. If not, well, let's just hope you can fight off all three heads at once!
But that's not the only thing you might find. Also scattered around the colosseum floor are what look like tasty snacks. Popsicles, cheese, even toast! Unfortunately, if you get hungry and take a bite, you will quickly discover that each and every one of these is actually soap. So that's great. Maybe the Door thinks everyone needs to shower more? You can also find a few that actually look like soap, and if you're really lucky, you might stumble across the rare and coveted 'pile of baby hands' soap.
With luck, you didn't get eaten by a snake or accidentally eat a piece of soap. Once you find your way out of the colosseum there's plenty of other distractions. Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers March 10th-15th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

Well, do you have a gun I can use?
( Even a noob can shoot a gun, right? )
no subject
Come, come, rabbit, before the snakes come to fight for your corpse. ]

( Whatever this is? Weirdest ever of it, that's for sure. Dylan hesitates for a second, her body needing to catch up with her mind, and eventually turns tail, sprinting towards the exit. )
I'm ready to wake up now-
( It's breathed out as she comes to a halt next to him. Come on, brain, work through whatever it is - trip or dream or whatever. Just get her back to reality, please. )

A dream would be easier. A... 'walk in the park', if you would. [ That is the saying, right? Humans have a language that is constantly evolving and he doesn't keep a list of their slangs or phrases on him. He uncrosses his legs and lets his feet touch the ground, his steps unhurried. ]
Though, I've found I'm not a fan of walking. [ It might be a joke? He gets the phrase, understands it. Parks are pretty, humans like flowers and pretty things and incredibly ugly things (though those kinds of likes tend to be hidden beneath smiles), and they like the idea of walking through a park but they only consider the park in the day, never the park at night. No, because at night the dangerous come out and that walk in the park becomes a run, a sprint, a dash. ]

But she's still here.
And, now that it's quieter, that they're away from the snake fighting amongst itself, it's harder to ignore the dread that he's right. )
Yeah? ( She huffs out a laugh, a brief moment that sounds like she takes it as a joke, or at least amusing enough to calm her down a little. ) So, what are you? Like, a genie or something?

They are boring. Their preaching, boring. Their endless raids on the homes of the poor, the needy, the dying all because of a neighbor who saw a black cat cross her path one day. They are nothing to him but they've proven a hindrance to the people, to those he's Marked, to Emily Kaldwin and Corvo Attano. But that just makes it a little more interesting, doesn't it? ]
Or something. [ His dark voice echoes, doubles, and as they exit her turns to her. ] The Outsider is what they call me and my name has been lost to time. For some I am demon, to others I am gift giver, but to all I am the god of the Void.
[ Incredibly flat. He's really not trying to impress because, let's be real, this young lady is already having trouble swallowing her situation. It's really quite fascinating. He wonders how she'll take the information she's just been given. Will she scoff at him? Or will she think he's insane, a young man in need to medication or the madhouse? ]

But so does a three-headed snake, a sudden underground city. Everything here sounds insane. And, if nothing else, Dylan has seen him float in ways that shouldn't at all be possible. Seen him do things that shouldn't at all be possible. )
Okay.
( She sounds more like she's convincing herself of that story than agreeing. )
So... can you get us out of here?
no subject
My hands are tied when it comes to this place. [ For the most part. The Void exists but it doesn't represent his world, his universe, any more and that's discomfiting. ] I am as trapped as you are, for the moment.
no subject
... What now?
( They've a city they don't belong to with no memories of how they ended up here, no way out, and monsters behind them.
What now indeed. )
Are you, like, gonna go help other people?
( She kind of hates that her only reaction was fear and wanting to run, but what else can she do? The biggest fights in her life are with her family, and those are based in yelling, not combat. )
no subject
Is that what you expect me to do?
no subject
I- gu...ess? ( IS THERE A RIGHT ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION BECAUSE SHE'D REALLY LIKE TO KNOW. )
You wanted me to, didn't you?
( Back when he asked if he'd leave the others to fend for themselves. )
no subject
[ It's a character question and the Outsider is full of them. ]
no subject
( In many other situations, the answer would have been reversed, but there's immature teenage schemes that require ironing out and sudden attacking beasts.
She can talk her way out of trouble, but how on earth would she even go about helping the people here get away from such beasts?
Dylan gestures to herself in response. She might be tall for her age, but how does that make her remotely prepared to fight three headed snakes?
... Although, they did like fighting each other. )
Maybe we could throw rocks and distract them. I mean, they fought between themselves.
( Dylan no that's not a plan. Stop thinking that's a plan. )

Perhaps you would be better suited finding a way to help those escaping? Many will be wounded, some may need help making their way to the clinic.
